Burton's Plumbing & Heating
Company Overview
Your home receives the same care we give our own!
Identifying a reliable plumber can be tough. For a team of professionals you can rely on, choose Burton's Plumbing & Heating. Still family-owned by the original Burtons, we’ve been serving the community since 1975. We offer a wide range of plumbing and heating services for residential and commercial properties, backed by our full licensing for your peace of mind. As experienced contractors, we offer free estimates for remodeling your home or business.
In the early 1960s, William Burton established our business, initially called William Burton Plumbing. He aimed to build a business where customers could shop for installation products and also get the help they needed for DIY tasks. In 1975, that vision became a reality with the opening of Burton's Plumbing & Heating and the ""Do It Yourself Center.""
This idea was innovative at the time. Since 1975, Burton's Plumbing & Heating has provided quality products to the community, enabling them to solve their own issues or dispatching skilled technicians from our location on Michigan Ave in Wayne, Michigan. Today, the company is run by William's two sons, Curtis and Thomas. We continue to offer advice for DIYers and have established ourselves as a reputable name in plumbing services and bathroom remodeling.
With over 35 years as a Master Plumber, Thomas Burton is one of the founding owners, along with Curtis. Since 1981, Thomas has been a service manager and is now responsible for supervising repairs in both residential and commercial sectors.

Had a kitchen sink and laundry back up in my basement; I called and within several hours Justin came wearing a mask, snaked and cleaned drain and was on his way; from the lady on the phone to the serviceman they were very polite. It was so refreshing to have honest, and reliable service. Thank you Aileen
They get an A- made the appointment Monday, scheduled it for Thursday. Got a call bright and early this morning(Thursday) asking if it was a good time for us. It was. Justin was cheerful and professional, explained the repair and completed it quickly. Will gladly use them again. Getting 5 stars isn't tough, just shocked how many repair companies fail on the basics. Do what you say your going to do, stay in communication with me if things change. Be cheerful (act like you appreciate my business) and professional. I'm happy to recommend them and Justin. Would have been an A if you covered your shoes!
I had one of Burton's licensed plumbers come out to my home. He was extremely knowledgeable and fixed my plumbing issue after evaluating the problem. I was impressed with his quality work and fair pricing. Highly recommend Burton's family owned plumbing!
Jesse,a technician was great. Very informative. Extremely happy with Burton's Plumbing.
Fantastic people! Burton's has been our go to plumber for 14+ years and will not hire anyone else. They remodeled our bathroom last year (down to the studs) and replaced ALL our plumbing. Always satisfied with their work. Cannot recommend enough.
We used this company and they came out the same day we called. I felt their prices were reasonable. Tina was excellent at keeping us updated on what they were doing. I def plan to use them again in the future. I highly recommend Burton Plumbing!!
Jaclyn B.As a landlord, finding the right contractor and establishing a relationship is extremely important. You never know when something is going to happen..... and at the end of September, we needed help. Fast.
We had granite installed in a bathroom at the end of September (please see my yelp review on Granite City, Inc), and since the valves were turned off for the first time (in YEARS), we had difficulty turning them back on. So, I called around to get quotes to get them replaced. In order to avoid issues for our tenants, we get issues resolved immediately- I knew we needed the valves replaced. We called around for quotes and timing availability. Burton's quoted $60 service call and then $75 for each valve replacement. It seemed very high to us, but since we did not have time to do it ourselves, we asked to book the earliest appointment. The lady on the phone informed me that I would need to call back in the next morning to see if they could get an appointment. Personally, I thought that was not the best customer service..... but we needed it done, so I called again the next morning. Fortunately, they were able to come out that afternoon.
I received a phone call from the guy when he was on his way, which was nice. He did the work and went on his way. About 30 minutes after he left, I got a panicked phone call from our tenant saying that the water would come out of the faucet where the valves that were just replaced. Really? The guy just left. How could the water not come on?
I called the gentleman and left a vm letting him know the water wasn't coming out. He made a return trip to finish the job. It is disappointing that the valves were replaced and there was no check that water came out of the faucets.
When I originally booked the appointment, I told them the house was a rental and needed an invoice to be sent to me.... They said it would not be an issue. It has been a month and I still have not received the invoice even though my credit card was charged.
Very disappointed.
Aaron A.Have used them multiple times.... Friendly, accommodating, expensive, knowledgeable.
It's easier if you know someone...otherwise, this company will charge Whatever since the area
Kevin G.Burton plumbing replaced my collapsed cast iron storm drain.
I had an issue with water pooling in the drain in the middle of my basement. When it rained and following wet weather, water instead of traveling through the storm drain would collect.
Burton Plumbing in one day broke the concrete of my basement floor, dug out the old cast iron drain, installed a new pvc drain, cleaned my drain lines of possible tree roots, and poured new concrete. It was a massive job performed by up to five men over the course of the day. Over 90% of plumbers do not perform this type of work or they subcontract it out. Most plumbers simply clear hair clogs or install new pipes. Not Burton. Burton Plumbing is among the few local plumbers who can handle large jobs.
After receiving three quotes I choose to do business with Burton. By far they has the best rate and they did not try to scam me by offering needless services. A Plymouth firm wanted me to pay to have the drain snaked again and pay a couple of hundred for use of a camera. Water was not flowing down the storm drain. It does not take an advanced degree to know that there was a catastrophic issue and since the drain could not be snaked. There was no need for a camera inspection.
Following installation water was no longer collecting in my basement due to excessive hydrostatic pressure. My storm drain appeared to be working properly. I waited to post this review after a large rain storm. The next morning there was no water in my basement. I can finally sleep without worrying.
For people owning older houses with failing storm drains, I recommend Burton.
I recently had Burton's plumbing install a dishwasher. The new dishwasher was left by Home Depot in the kitchen about 5 feet from the old one. After the installation was completed the technician gave me a bill for $303.00. I have contacted several other contractors since then and they said the bill was too high. I was also left with the disposal of the old dishwasher. I would not recommend Burton's plumbing to anyone in the area.
