Austin G.My experience with Burton has been rather extensive. I contacted Burton to have my furnace replaced at which time they replaced my furnace and my HVAC system. It cost me over $10,000 and I have had to call them back three different times for the HVAC system and twice for the new furnace.
I contacted them because I had an emergency plumbing back up over a weekend. The specialist came and met with my wife at which time in order to dig up the pipe and fix the hole. He was going to charge my wife $12,000. Then he marked it down to $7000 until I got home. I told him no and he could leave. To dig a hole 6 feet long and 10 feet deep in my yard they wanted $7000. This repair takes an average of six hours with two guys and a machine.
The same repair that I am describing I could do in Omaha for $4000 and still make bank. Thank you for being greedy Burton! Because of this, I am going to buy machines and start doing sewer line repairs. You will put your self out of business because of your greed. I will never use them again and will tell my experience to all of my customers everyday. No escaping this one Burton.
Burton consistently receives very low reviews on the ""Nextdoor"" app. Burton comes up about once a month, and each time, the customers are not satisfied with the services provided. Enclosed is the latest thread that showed up on Nextdoor about Burton: (Note: the comments are much lengthier than what is shown. But, due to space, only a portion is shown)
I see Burton pluming and heating post an advertisement. They will open your drain but it will cost you. They will find a problem that probably cost you a couple hundred or more. They scammed me a few years back. DON'T CALL BURTON. Who posted this ad? A crook!!!

Burton gave me an estimate of $3600 for a descaling job that cost me $1000, Inlaw plumbing is reliable, and honest and they do great work.

We had a major problem with our pipes underneath our house and American Rooter did phenomenal job of fixing it! We highly recommend them! Very ethical and hardworking people!

i hope everyone who has a bad experience with Burton puts a review on Google Reviews. Their reviews on Google are very good, which makes no sense based all the comments you read about them. Burton pops up as a discussion every few months on Nextdoor, and it is always terrible experiences, for the most part.

I teach plumbing apprentices at metropolitan CC. There are plenty of great smaller plumbing companies. The issue is there is also some smaller companies who send out people who are unqualified and will take twice as long, don't come prepared, track their dirty boots through someone's house, scratch or ruin people's floors or walls. The advertisement is what you call a loss leader. They charge less on the hopes they can sell you more when they get there. You'd be surprised how many calls I get with people asking about drain costs and they think it only costs 89 or 79$. Burton, Aksarben, Roto Rooter and American Rooter are all owned by private equity/larger corporations. They will stay in business because they are profitable and available when you have an emergency and can't wait multiple days for the little guy to get out there.

Burton stays in business because nobody in the media will publicly expose them for their business practices. They purchase large amounts of advertising with all of the local media outlets, and nobody is willing to risk losing that ad revenue by putting out a bad report.

I can't belive that crook puts his face on the back of the Burton vans. He should be ashamed of himself. I'm not sure how they stay in business.(edited)

Oh good to know!!
Also BEWARE:
Roto Rooter told [a.k.a. preyed upon]
my widow mom the issue would cost $10,000... (oooh they have financing, yada yada)
Eyman came out and quoted her and took care of the problem for $400!! Seriously!! And they were very nice. Unlike RR.

Years ago my daughter had a prepaid plan with them for her condo. Every time she had scheduled a Saturday appointment, Burton cancelled, requiring her to take vacation time to be home on a week-day.

I used them to sleeve my sewer line a few years back and it was way less than that and the line extended across the street. It is the only time I have used Burton, but I was very happy with them.

I had a leak from a fitting on the toilet. The guy I regularly call didn't get back to me because he was sick. Called another place and he was booked up for at least a 2 weeks. Called Burton, the guy came over and found the problem. Gave several options to fix the fitting and also fix other fittings on other plumbing fixtures. I chose the option I wanted because
Standard Bait and switch. Will tell you they have a $89 special (it's just for the pleasure of having them come out) but there is always an additional charge. On thier site, they advertise drain opening $93 or its free. Additional fees ""May"" apply. In fact, additional fees will always apply, every time, all the time. A little note they forget to mention. Very deceiving and just plain annoying. Too many bad reviews here to ignore.
We called Burton on a Saturday morning for a hot water heater problem. The tech was on our property for a total of TEN MINUTES. Burton charged us $624 to come out on the Saturday call. I am not in any way saying they did anything wrong. I just want others to beware of their ridiculous charges! Would strongly suggest you look to someone else first!!!
If I could rate Burton a ZERO Star it would be appropriate. I have done business with them for 30 years and spent over 100,000 in plumbing, HVAC, and sewer services. The gas company red tagged my house last week due to no venting on my water heaters. Which means carbon monoxide is leaking into the house, and the top of my water heaters are burn't from over heating. Today Burton told me they wouldn't stand behind their labor and they told me to call someone else to work on my water heaters. They don't have resources to fix anything.
Find yourself a new plumber, but don't let it be Burton. Move forward with people who have integrity.
Tenant had a plugged toilet, dripping bath sink & broken tub handle. got an estimate over $1,500 as they were going to pull the toilet to snake. Called to see what they had done tech advised they didnt pull toilet just snaked 6to 8 ft I asked if he found anything he said no I then asked if maybe he had just pushed the blockage further & WHAT IF IT PLUGGED AGAIN/ HE SAID IT WOULD BE A NEW CHARGE No warranty. He changed the tub faucet handle & told me it turned hard & might consider down the road replacing tub faucet. ( He told tenant not to use it would break I found out after the tenant called the next day to say all drains upstairs backing up.. OH THE WHOLE HOUSE DRAINS ARE PLUGGED NOW 1 DAY LATER as I was told no warranty I called a different plumber & will never use Burton again!!!! Basically the replaced bath sink faucet at a over $1,500 charge. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from these crooks...
Nicole C.We had some major plumbing issues a few years ago (the horrible summer of 2020!) and got ""the service contract"" to receive a discount. Last week for our regular maintenance service visit, they tried to tell us that the furnace and AC needed a minimum of 4K in repairs and probably just needed to be replaced altogether. The units we have are only 11-12 years old and we've always been good with maintenance. Decided to get a second opinion from another company and while there were a few minor things that definitely needed to be cleaned/replaced/fixed, they couldn't find much wrong with the units. AND it cost under $500. Glad I got a second opinion -- wasn't planning to sell a kidney to stay cool this summer!! We canceled our service contract and are done with them. Don't recommend.
Katy E.We just moved into our first home, and learned that our home inspector neglected to check our AC unit at all. When it wasn't working, we had a technician from another company come check the unit, and it was super clogged and had lots of mold. We got quotes from three different companies, and all were very similar. The reason we chose Burton is because the Comfort Advisor, Ken, who came to give us a quote immediately put us at ease! He explained everything to us, set us up with a free two year VIP membership so we can keep our new unit serviced, and he worked with his boss to find us the best price he could. The very next day, we got our new AC unit. The techs who installed it thoroughly explained each aspect of the new unit. I can't recommend the customer service enough! Within minutes of the new unit being turned on, our house felt the best it has since we moved in!
Hillary P.Until recently, I was not aware that Burton provided electrical support. One of their electricians came out and went through a complete list of the items that we needed done and provided a detailed estimate.
Once approved, we went ahead and scheduled the appointment. Ahead of their arrival we received an appointment confirmation, a notification that they were on the way, and details regarding the individuals providing the service, along with their photographs for security.
The electricians were exceptionally professional and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure that all items identified had been addressed and went as far as taking a moment to answer a few questions about items that were not even on the list.
We were so happy with the work that was done that we actually called them back for additional work and specifically requested the same crew. We were pleased to have similar results as our first experience.
We referred Burton to a neighbor in the area who also needed electrical work and was dealing with a terminal illness within the family. The team were kind enough to go over provide the estimate and even addressed a quick fix issue ad hoc. Their actions contributed to my neighbors ultimately purchasing an entire home generator because of how great the team was there during their first visit.
Just so happy to find reliable support for electrical needs and Burton is the place to go! Can't say enough positive things about our experience.
They ran my check as an ach transaction. It cleared my bank. Then they proceeded to try to run my check 3 more times, and tried telling me I didn't pay.
I tried to get in contact with Burton several times regarding their mistake. Nobody bothered to return my call. Fast forward about a month the technician called me to tell me i owe them.
My check was returned 3 more times, because I wasn't prepared to pay for the service 3 more times.
I showed them my bank statement showing it had already been cleared and where they tried to run it through after I already paid. They could not admit fault, and the gentleman I spoke with acted as if he was doing me a favor by telling me he was willing to ""let it go, and he wouldn't further pursue"" he had a very condescending tone he used with me.
This man also agreed to send a statement showing I was ""wiped clean"" (even though services have been paid) I have yet to receive that as well.
I do not recommend Burton.
