My experience was awful with this company. Someone came in and began to work on my pipes without explaining anything, and then proceeded to charge for the unfinished work he produced. He then stated he'd come out the following week, and his supervisor spoke on the phone in a very unprofessional and inappropriate manner. He called me a liar and said ""his guy doesn't lie"" saying nobody was coming out to finish the work he left unfinished. Even after paying an absurd amount for nothing being done, I thought they would be professional and finish what they started. EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT COME HERE BY ANY MEANS. Good luck if you decide to go through them.

I needed to call a plumber to have the gas stove disconnected. This is a 10 minute job with a one hour minimum at $116. hr. I was in the midst of doing over bathroom floors so I asked if they could remove two toilets, and if it was under one hour, possibly the vanities. The plumber, who was friendly and professional, arrived with a young man (15 or 16?) who was preparing to enter into a tech school in September. I made an assumption that gaining experience was this persons pay. That wasn't the case. I was charged an additional $85 for this young mans help, which I did not catch until I reviewed the bill more closely the next day. I called to dispute the charge and after having to correct some misinformation given to the supervisor, He told me I would be taken care of in the future when I needed more work done. I am a single woman, over 50, with my own business and I don't have patience for this kind of practice so I won't be calling back. That being said, I would recommend them for the work that they did, and showing up on time...but I caution to pay close attention to billing and the time they actually spend at the job.

First of all I got an estimate to have my furnace cleaned for $195-$200 plus parts. The tech came out he found that I needed some parts. He told me he had to go back to the office to get the parts I said ok and an hour later he returned with the parts and ten minutes later he was done. He then presented me with a bill for $410 I was a thinking this was a lot of money. The tech said I need to pay him so I wrote him a check and off he went. I then looked over the bill and noticed that he charged me $116 an hour and one of the hours was for going to get the parts which I think if he should have had on the truck to begin with. Next the parts were $120 and they were used parts. When my husband called the company to have them explain the cost they told him they would take $50 off the bill, we both thought that was a nice gesture. Well when I told my husband that the tech wanted payment right away he called back and told the office that we already paid and they told him that they decided not to give us the $50. This company in my opinion is the worst, we will never use them again, I wish I had known that they charged $116 an hour and that I was going to get used parts I probably would have never called them in the first place. You can be sure I will never use them again.

We've used Burke and Sons for almost 17 years now. We've never had any problems with them. Work is good and they have always able to diagnosis any problems we have had, right on the spot. Normally I would give them 5 stars, but not after a recent incident. It really is a shame that I have to write this. We recently encountered a plumbing problem that we had them fix.. but still having problems with water leaking after they had been here. No problem.. no company is perfect 100% of the time.. things happen, and sometimes, it may take a second visit to troubleshoot if it is a complex problem. The next day I called to let them know that one of the water pipes was still leaking and had requested Dave M if possible (Dave knows our system inside out) so I asked if they could send him over . Brian became very rude over the phone and started yelling at me. I wasn't complaining, but just making a request. I figured it might be helpful to send one of the guys over that have worked on the system before. He then hung up on me. (I was actually in shock ) I have never had any professional speak that way to me before. When my husband came home from work later that day, he called to explain the problem to Brian. Brian was yelling at my husband at the top of his lungs and swearing at him and then told him he was ""done"" and told my husband to find another plumber and then hung up on him. My husband did not get upset or raise his voice, he was only requesting for Dave to come by because he knows the system so well. I was horrified. I guess I just want to say, that no matter HOW good someone is at their trade, it is not worth compromising your dignity or your values over. We will never use them again because of this incident. It's awful because they really are good at what they do, but we will not have anyone treating us like that or speaking to us like that, under any circumstances ever again. I feel bad for the owner (Jim) because he's always been a real nice guy. I wonder if he knows that his employee is talking to his customers like that?

Burke and Sons is an exceptional company. Family owned and operated for 30 years. For anyone who has had something to complain about them and their service is clearly in wrong. If you've had a bad experience with them then maybe you should look in the mirror because it's you who may be the problem. You could be the person who has a problem with every company you call and need to realize that being nice will get you further than being rude, obnoxious and out of line.
Burke and sons has done multiple jobs for me and I have had a pleasant experience each time and all of their staff is knowledgeable.
A bad review from someone who has a bad review for every company should be banned from sites like this one for defamation of character.
I strongly recommend using Burke and Sons for any and all plumbing heating jobs because if they're family and trustworthy

I have used Burke and Sons many, many times for both my business, and my home. I had an entire bathroom put in my business where there wasn't one, and they did a fantastic job. Pulled the permits as required and felt the prices were fair. They have also done many plumbing repairs/upgrades for me over the years, and come out quickly if it is an emergency. They have always been very polite and professional and their work is top notch. I have a hard time believing that negative review based on my many experiences with them, and I wonder if there is more to that story. Don't let that one review deter you from using them cause they are a great, reliable company based on my history with them.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous review, I had burke and sons to my house in the middle of the night because our water heater flooded the basement, jim showed up right away and stopped the leak, first thing the next morning, they arrived on time and replaced the heater, when they finished, I asked about a dripping faucet, he repaired it in a few minutes and did not charge any extra, I was very happy with the price and service I received.

Burke & Sons - Worst plumbers ever!!!! Been a customer for 15 years for small jobs and apparently the minute I question how much a part is (as it was a small job with a big part price tag) and ask for a receipt, they tell me off. They were rude and told me too bad, they would NOT provide a receipt for me on how much they paid for the part or tell me the mark up on it. I couldn't even get a written breakdown on the receipt. Save your $$$$. Learn from my mistakes. NEVER CALL THEM!!!! I was told that he did not care how long I was a customer for and that he NEVER gives a breakdown of parts. This was after I gave them another chance. Previously their plumber had forgot to do something and ended up flooding water from my upstairs to my kitchen ceiling, which they never even offered to take care of but I paid that bill in full, no questions.
