Recommended Customer Reviews
Have quickly responded to my issues, sewer back up being the problem today. Rob was here first thing this AM to fix the dang thing! Explained everything and was very nice. Very pleased with their service including the nice lady on the phone!
Ann S.Nick from Building waters was wonderful. Very professional and on time. He was very understanding on a hectic early morning school day. He went above and beyond to show me how to solve an on going faucet problem. I hope I don't need a plumber every again, but every experience I've had with building water has been wonderful from Sharon in the office to Nick unclogging my sink.
We were panicked when we woke up to our furnace not working and called around to several companies who couldn't get us in the same day. Building Waters was able to get someone here in less than 2 hours! Ben was quick and fixed our furnace within 30 minutes! Definitely recommend and will use them again in the future.
C M.I've been a user of plumbers for years in IL since I'm an interior designer & remodeler. But I'm new to Wisconsin so I needed a plumber.
I thought I was safe using Building Waters. I could not be more sorry for trusting Wes and his company Building Waters Plumbing. Let me explain why:
From remodeling for years I can tell you that their prices are very high but whats worse is that their bills seem out of whack and I showed them to neighbors who also are remodelers and have several properties and they could not believe what they were seeing. They said I was being completely screwed as I suspected.
RECIRCULATING PUMP RIP OFF:
I was charged 1770+ by building waters for this service. The part accd to their plumber when I asked him how much it would cost me-he said about $200. At most its $300 -we found it online. So about $1400 for labor? Wes claimed it took his guy 7 hours to install it? Thats the nuttiest outlandish claim I've ever heard in my life. At some point the plumber & Wes had a responsibility to know what this would take him and should have discussed it with me!
But you don't overbill b/c your guy doesn't install these regularly and isn't a expedient worker. Not fair to the client.
It sure as hell has NEVER been a 7 hour billing time job and at some point the plumber needs to say: I don't mind doing this but its gonna be extrememly expensive b/c of ab or c , and do you want to do this? You don't just give someone shock with a huge farce of a bill.
Tell me how can a recirculating pump cost more than a whole stack of lead pipes to be replaced which is about $1400 a stack and is more labor? It doesn't make ANY sense.
Then they kept trying to push a new faucet on me for my kitchen sink when I clearly had a new one, and I told the plumber that it had something stuck in it b/c were on a well-I though sediment had gotten in somehow. I told him to route it. My husband has a router and I would have had him use it if I had known that BWaters would give a ridiculous price for this tiny service. Esp with everything else were spending on!
Turns out I didn't need a new faucet, they obviously routed it which takes about 10 minutes max and charged me $168 for that. Total jip which most of my previous plumbers would have given to me b/c of all the other work they were charging me for. Its called courtesy and building trust as an entreprenuar .
DISHWASHER Install RIP OFF:
My appliance guy was here from ABT and they are experts at doing installations correctly. Best appliance company in IL and they deliver up this way. I highly recommend. The plumber said he wanted to do the work. Well ABT charged about $150-200 to install the dishwasher . And they know how to work with newer EU appliances that already have airgaps installed in them . Wes insisted that I needed it. And charged me a outrageous $653 for installing a simple dishwasher and an air gap I have never needed in IL. I don't care if something is code-it wasn't in the house before and it sold to me just fine. I told him I didn't want it but they billed me for it. An outrageous rip off outrageous over the top fee.
Laundry Sink Install JIP:
In IL I got a bid for $500 for an install on a laundrysink . When I spoke to Wes about it on the phone he said about $550-650 b/c he had to take away my concrete sink. He claimed he would hire a laborer to come break it up and all, clean up. There was no laborerer ever there to do this work. They took it away. He didn't need to gut it or take away. Thats for garbage hauling guys. He charged us $700.
Also overpriced. That is all labor and not the sink.
The other two things on the bill I was okay with. Thats the typical cost of a hot water heater replacement in IL and I'm not sure of the cost of replacing old pipe b/c IL only allows copper and not this plastic stuff which I'll never use again. Very unimpressive product.
I was extremely unhappy with Building Waters. I will NEVER use their services again. They are a dubious company when it comes to billing their hours and I told Wes that this was how we felt and he just made excuses. He didn't remedy the situation. Which makes him disgusting.
He abused our pocketbooks for menial jobs and we will tell everyone what happened to us.
Skip S.A year or so ago we needed a replacement water heater. Called in the morning and had one installed by early afternoon. Now it's May 2018 and our AC would not work. Turned out a simple fix and they quickly had us up and running. Recently had them service our A.C.
All the staff we have encountered have been very nice and professional.
Experience was very unprofessional and cunning. We paid for the plumbing service a couple of times to asses and repair but to no avail and thousands of dollars later. When we had insurance come in and rectify problems in house , owner said to he's guys "" ok guys just stick around for the day, we are on the insurance time now"". This really raised big flags because we had already paid them 5 times to put cameras down and assess, plus repair.
HVAC department seemed helpful at first, made big promises and we replaced two systems with them that is still after a year not working properly. Phoning them to come and rectify the problems gets you snotty remarks and hefty bills. I wish I could post pictures to show how they hacked up our HVAC this week, leaving the seams uncovered and big big gaps with air rushing out! Not to mention the water streaming out of the system from all sides! I will be posting them on yelp, Houzz and where ever I can. We had two different construction teams tell us that it's indeed not just with us but they get calls weekly of people fed up with Building waters bad service across the board.
Zahid I.I must say the repair person was very nice and courteous. He said their charge clock starts as they start deriving to your place. They charge double the price for any parts they replace. First day he fixed a leaking bath tub faucet water pipe connection while the facust was just fine. Next day the faucet start leaking and charged me more than $200 to fix it. They are very pricey and I would not recommend them to a friend.
Kept my cool! When my air conditioning decided to stop working on the hottest day of 2016, a call to Building Waters really saved the day. Dan and Steve got right on it and a comfortable climate was restored to my home. I appreciate the responsiveness, courtesy, and professionalism consistently demonstrated. I've used Building Waters for plumbing issues in the past and had a similar experience.
They sent my Friend a Check hmm. Glad I wrote a review. Dean just needs to be trained more on installing Kohler Sterling Doors. Like, there needs to be a rubber seal on bottom of said Door. I have to buy a 2nd Kohler Sterling Shower Door. Didn't think the first one was bad. Owner talked me into it. At least the check will help buy the 2nd Door.
Beth S.Building Waters just installed our new water heater. Prompt, very careful maneuvering thru our home. He was very helpful explaining where the shutoff was and how to operate our new water heater. I would definitely recommend them to friends.
