I am not sure what others' stories or circumstances were but I am so grateful that I found Budget Rooter; the amount of work was extraordinary and the cost was fair and the service was outstanding. And we called in the AM and had a tech at our house within the HOUR! The best I could do elsewhere was within three to four days!
Karen the office manager and Jason the technician were the nicest, most knowledgeable and straightforward people about the work they were doing on my parents older home in Poulsbo WA. Setting up an appointment was a breeze and the technician Jason was very punctual and had a plethora of knowledge about everything plumbing. I live out of state and I wanted to gift my parents a rooter service for Christmas. Not only did Jason go above and beyond with the cleaning and flushing of the sink/drains of the home but was able to articulate for my parents exactly what their issues were, what he was doing and what he recommends for future work. Leaving my parents and I with peace of mind and clean pipes, I would recommend asking for Jason if you can. Thank you!
Laurie T.Stay clear of Budget Rooter as there is nothing budget about them. I am giving them 1 star ONLY because after two visits they did solve the problem. Horrible customer service. When I wanted to discuss the fee for the second visit, they wouldn't return my emails or phone calls or texts and went ahead and charged my credit card anyhow. I now have to try and get some of my money back. I paid $844.77 to have a simple main line clog unblocked due to wet wipes being flushed. They spent a 1/2 hour on the first visit and a 1/2 hour on the 2nd visit one day later.
We have a nice home on Bainbridge Island and have never had a plumbing issue. We are connected to city sewer. A family member, not knowing better flushed a paper towel and some wet wipes which clogged the main toilet. My husband, who is very handy, pulled the toilet and tried to unclog the toilet. He used an auger for 25 ft and couldn't reach the clog. We went online to find a plumber. The first plumber from Budget Rooter came out and only worked with an auger from the toilet (which he didn't have to pull). He was very nice, reset the toilet, and I do believe he thought he cleared the clog after a 1/2 hour of working on it. He charged me $504.67. The next day the toilets in the house backed up again. We asked Budget Rooter to come back out. This time they insisted that they use their camera and went in from the clean out at the side of the house. The technician told my husband there were tree roots causing the problem but never showed this to my husband. He cleared the clog after augering the line from the clean out. The tech told my husband that we should hire them to come out and clear the roots and redo piping etc. We have no trees in the area that the tech was talking about and we have never had a previous problem, so my husband declined. We were charged $340.10 which my husband paid with our credit card. This all happened the first week of July. It is now December and we have not had a clog issue whatsoever since. (So much for the tree root idea.)
When Lynne, the wife of the owner of the company contacted me because she couldn't read the credit card # that the tech wrote on the invoice, I told her I had a problem with the charges and that I wanted to discuss the charges before authorizing the payment. She gave me her email so I could tell her my issues but never got back to me. She ran my card anyhow.
$844.77 to clear a simple clog is outrageous. 1 hour's worth of work and they never gave us the veteran's discount of 5%. They should have gone through the clean out the first time. Not being willing to defend their charges is also not right. We were ripped off.
Not honest.
I hired Budget Rooter to fix a leaky outdoor facet at my house. I was told if they could fix it the ""easy"" way it would be $250 and if they felt they had to replace the part, it would be $450. The repair was done on April 30. Much to my surprise, Jason announced he was finished within 5 minutes, which at the agreed $250 flat fee works out to $3,000 per hour. He said that he just tightened the facet and it stopped leaking. He wasn't sure if it would last 10 years or weeks, but told me that he was sure that if it started leaking again after a short time, the company would work with me on a fair price. I paid the $250 with no complaint.
On June 6, I discovered that the facet has been leaking again and called to ask what they'd do for me. I proposed that I pay them $250 or $300 more to do a real repair. That would bring the cost to $550, which was $100 more than the original $450 quote. This was to cover the first 5 minute visit. Jason wanted $375 more to fix the facet, bringing the total to $625. I told him I just didn't think this was fair and could probably have another plumber do it for the $375. He said plumbers are expensive and good luck with another plumber. Well, Jason, maybe I'll find a plumber who can actually fix it this time and who stands by his word.
$1600 for 20 minutes of hydrojetting. The guys were very nice so an extra star. But it was a ripoff.
Spot on service! Lady I first talked to was super kind and they got a technician to my rental house right away. They diagnosed the problem and within a hour all was fixed!
I will use them again!
Kevin and Wayne came out to replace a hot water heater that had burst - it was late in the day, but they worked hard, had great attitudes, and ultimately got the job done perfectly. I will recommend Budget Rooter enthusiastically to my friends! Thank you for the great work!
Great service. Had to have toilet replaced. Kevin came out and did a great job, he was really fast, and he took the old toilet with him, too. I will call him again when we have another problem.
Melissa K.Kevin provided exceptional service when we sprang a leak. He was quick, personable, and the emergency visit was economical. He came highly recommebded, and I agree! Thanks Kevin!
Susan S.On June 9, 2017, we were charged $183 to repair two toilets and a leaking faucet. The plumber Kevin advised they only needed the water level adjusted and we should replace the kitchen faucet. An hour later, neither toilet would flush. I called back immediately but as it was Friday afternoon I could only leave a message. Monday June 12, 2017 I called to ask why I did not receive a return call and I was given Kevin's cell phone number. I called Kevin and he said he needed to ""rebuild"" the flushing unist and would order the parts. I called on Monday June 19, 2017 and asked the Dispatcher for a status. He referred me to Kevin. I asked if this were a real business with a license and he said yes. He said he would text Kevin to call me. Today, Wednesday June 21, 2017 I called the after hours number and Kevin answered. I asked him when my parts would be in. He said Friday June 23, 2017. I asked if I were going to be credited for the labour from the $183 and he advised some of it. He then suggested I replace my toilets. These are top of the line, 5 year old Koehler toilets and I said no. I then advised him to cancel my repairs. I am calling the better business bureau and the AG to request a refund. VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!!
