I can tell everyone this is the worst company to do business with. I had them do my whole house plumbing, and heating when we had our house built in 2020. The owner calls himself Doug the plumber and states they are experts in their work. Experts is not a word they should claim. After 5 years of living in my home, I still need to repair issues with a real professional plumber. Doug the so-called-plumber forgot to change the orifice in my furnace for propane, wrecked our new dishwasher by kicking it into place, damaging the front, didn't connect outside water spickets, etc.... I do not recommend him for anyone. He is also more expensive than most and calls his business Budget Plumbing & Heating. They will break your budget and give you shitty work. I'm still discovering bad workmanship they provided. If you want a really quality person for your plumbing, I highly recommend Richard Hartney owner of Warm Springs Heating & Plumbing. He has fixed all the problems left by Budget P&H and was there when we needed him. Believe me do not use Budget P&H, they are worthless and overcharging for the lousy work they do. Very poor customer service. The office lady took advantage of a disabled veteran. Charging for work that was not completed. Charging for drive time for 5.mins of driving. Charging for a mater plumber and the kid was barely 18. She was the rudest person to work with. I will not use your services or refer anyone to your company.

We have used Budget for years and 2 years ago gave them a favorable review. This year we called for an annual inspection and a small plumbing repair. When we received the invoice there was clearly a substantial mistake/overcharge. We called to clarify and was told to wait for Doug to respond. We did not get a response back and called again and was told that they would have a staff meeting and let us know. No one from Budget called but we received a new invoice that showed an approximate $500.00 reduction/overcharge difference. We did not receive a response or explanation from a person/Doug as to what was being overturned or overcharged which makes one question if we weren't persistent in trying to clarify would they have auto corrected or just received payment? The experience was disappointing.

Our serviceman was friendly, professional, and very thorough. He ensured that our needs were not only met but exceeded; in addition to the routine maintenance we requested, he easily performed an additional repair that another company claimed would be a major job, and he made an extra trip to obtain the part needed to do that repair. I could not be happier with the service we received.

(Update---We used Budget Plumbing & Heating again for installing a gas log fireplace to replace our wood burning fireplace. They were amazing and did an incredible job.) Budget Plumbing & Heating, from customer service, to job reliability and work completion and great product! All top notch and we couldn't be happier with the installation of our furnace and on demand water heater. Thanks guys!

Never called back when he said he would. Don't tell me you're gonna call me on a certain date/ time and then not contact me at all!

Series of events:

Called Budget for new tankless hot water heater and AC.

Budgeted to spend $7500 for both.

Doug (owner) answered phone and offered to come by later that day. Sent a contractor instead.

Zack (Doug's contractor) showed up and offered some suggestions including turning up heat and a swamp cooler. (Nice guy and seemed helpful). I was still interested in a hot water heater and asked what price I should expect if I move forward. He told me $1000-$1400 for unit and approx 5 hours of labor. Estimate was $2k or less for hot water heater install.

He went ahead and charged me $100 (for what?? still unsure) and left.

Knowing large groups would frequent my home I went ahead and texted Zack a couple hours after he left and said let's move forward.

He said they could install the following week and he'd reach out to Doug to get unit ordered and would contact me the next day.

2 days later still no word so I called again he said he was waiting on Doug.

7 days later and I called Doug again. Oddly he quoted me $3500 on the phone. I mentioned Zack's quote and he said 'they're not supposed to quote'. Asked me to call back when I was back in town.

In meantime I called Skippy with 'Comfort Plumbing' and he also quoted me $3500. Service was noticeably better right out of the gate.

Decided to compare one more time and called Doug back when back in town a few days later (today).

He said he'd come by and look at 3-4PM today. I intentionally left my meeting in Salida early to meet him. It's now 5:30 with no word at all. I called to find out where he was and he acts as though the clock simply revolves around him. He had no remorse or apologies for the multiple untruths (let me just call a spade a spade here...lies) he and his team told and actually acted pleased to lose the business when I told him I'd prefer to work with Skippy.

After '25 years' he's clearly burnt out or has too much business to care. Good for him, bad for prospective clients.

If you like liar time waster plumber/ HVACers Doug and Budget Plumbing is a great option!!
