Unless you like your hired contractors to prey on your fear (no heat in January) and your ignorance of plumbing, DO NOT USE THESE PLUMBERS!!!

They are either complete ignoramuses or totally dishonest. Long story short, I was told I needed a new boiler, told that x and y and z would need to be replaced, told that p and q were not up to code... it simply wasn't true. Got a second opinion from Agua Azul (recommended by my realtor) and spent 1/10th of what I was about to spend on Capitol to get the problem completely fixed. You are forewarned.

If you are new to Santa Fe, which we were, you might be tempted to look
in the yellow pages and find ""Capitol Plumbing"", which sounds like a pretty reliable name. And you may be tempted to call them just because
you don't know any better. DON'T, DON'T, DON'T!!! I could go into details about the quality of the employees, so unprofessional and barely speaking english... and they sent two of them, one of which just stood
there and and nursed his runny nose... and about how they then had to
call ""The Boss"" to confirm that the water heated was not working (isn't
that why I called them in the first place? duh...).. and then when everything
had been cut, dismantled, and taken apart and left lying there, told me
that I needed a whole new heater which would cost me up to $3,000!
To add insult to injury, because I had to leave for lunch before they left,
they sent the one with the runny nose to the restaurant to collect
payment because they said they did not take credit card by phone, and
wanted payment up front. All total, they charged in over $450 to tell
me that my heater did not work, and I had to hire another plumbing
company to make me whole, and working again.. all for less than
$1000. Also he was able to repair the heated which Capitol said was
irrepairable!

When I called American Express to stop payment, they tried to help.
But Capitol must be very used to this kind of situation, because they
came up with a whole laundry list of things I had to prove to show
their incompetence, including photos and documentation from other
plumbing companies, etc. etc


Well, I have a life and don't have the time to go through all this
rigamarole. So, at least writing this review makes me feel better. Capitol Plumbing
has such a dubious reputation I am surprised they are still
in business. Save yourself some $$ and aggravation and DO NOT
ever use this company! Susan

I have a second home in Santa Fe. While here I clogged up my disposal. I called one company, but they could not come out for FOUR DAYS! I then called Capitol Plumbing and they told me they could be out in an hour. They were here within the hour and fixed my disposal within 15 minutes. I thought the fee was perfect for the job done. The young man that fixed it could NOT have been nicer. He stayed and made SURE it was working perfect before he left. I highly recommend this company. Nice servicemen, quick response and quality work. Thank you!

I had this company come out several times. They were always slow and usually confused. Because they aren't very good, they overcharge saying other things are wrong or that it took them a long time. Even simple jobs. I should have known from that, but I don't think there's a lot to chose from in Santa Fe, I'm unsure having only a part time residence here...

I had a large job that cost several thousands and paid them half up front. Luckily, I didn't pay the other half before they were finished. They claimed they were finished, but left big sink holes in my yard. Not only that, but they left the street sidewalks and road torn apart. I refused to pay the balance until this was remedied. They came out right away to fix it. A few months later, when I was turning on irrigation, I realized it wasn't working. I had to dig up several spots carefully and I found that they chopped through several irrigation hoses in the places where they were working. Several of my plants and trees died and I had to pay to replace everything because at that point I had already paid the balance not knowing about the irrigation. They refused to pay for the repairs or fix them saying they aren't irrigation specialists and it's in the contract that they aren't liable.
We will never use them again. They are sloppy and not at all worth it. They don't care if they mess everything up in your yard or even on the city street as long as their paid. Even for a shoddy job.

In my opinion, this is a terrible company. When you call them about a problem, they do not inform you that they will charge a $90 fee just to show up--they expect you to pay that fee whether they do any work or not.

I called them for a small repair job, and they told me that they would not perform the repair job unless i undertook another, much more expensive, repair job--this other job was highly dubious, and was contested by a plumber that I brought in on the very following day.

When I told them that I was not going to pursue their more expensive proposal, they refused to perform the work for which I called, and, and presented me with a bill for $90 just for making a service call.

Then they became beligerant, and they disconnected my heating equipment without telling me--including cutting a wire that rendered the equipment nonuseable. They threatened to turn my $90 bill over to a collection agency. They are malicious and conniving con artists.

I called a second plumber out to the house the following day, and told him the story of what had transpired with Capitol, and he was shocked at their unprofessionalism. He was able to make the original repair without issue, and did not feel that the second repair that Capitol tried to use to extort me was necessary.

Then I got a letter in the mail from Capitol demanding that I pay the $90 bill or they would turn me over to a collection agency.

I had a lawyer write a cease and decist letter, threatening to file complaints about Capitol to the state liscensing and construction regulatory agency, and Capitol quickly dropped the issue.

Do not ever use this company. They thrive on bullying their customers by threatening to sue them for collections for work they don't perform. Many of their victims might not have access to a lawyer, so they probably let Capitol get away with it.

Stay away from Capitol Plumbers!!

One of Jonathan's employees, named
Alan, allegedly stole $5,000 from my mother's home while he was making a service call. Notified the ABQ PD and Alan is blocking my mom's number, and Jonathan's mobile says it's not taking incoming calls.

Make sure you check to see if Performance Plumbing is bonded and insured. I suspect he may not have either or why else is he not responding to my mom?

If you do decide to use Performance, then I would recommend locking up your valuables.

I called this business because of the reviews. They made an appointment for me between 2 and 4 for the next day. I called them around 3:45 to see if they were on their way? No response. Texted them, again, no response, called their business lime and left a message, no response.
How do businesses like this get good reviews? This is not good customer service this is typical Santa Fe NO SHOW!!
I can understand if they are running late or just can't make it that day but they can reach out and let u know and reschedule. Not this company
