Don't call these guys. Called at 7:45pm 1/22 about a plumbing backup. Was told plumber would arrive in roughly an hour. Understand after hours can't necessarily guarantee ETA, so waited till 9:45 pm with no arrival to call back to inquire. Answering service told me they would call the technician and have him contact with me with ETA. No response. Called answering service back at 10:05, they said they couldn't reach the technician and would keep trying. Called back at 10:30. Answering service said they still couldn't get through to anyone. So...that was awesome. Sewage leaking through my floor, won't be able to get anyone over until after work tomorrow. Unprofessional and ridiculous, call anyone else (except Paul's Plumbing, he jerked me around even harder for three hours prior!)

After 1 day in communication with this company, and speaking with their ""manager"" I can't believe they are still in business. I have never had such an unprofessional conversation with a business manager outside of a fast food joint. After this episode, I have spoken with a few people in real estate management & sales and have heard nothing but negitive comments and warnings against them. As far as I am concerned .. I dodged a bullet in not working with them, and cant believe there are not many, many more negitive reviews on here.

WARNING: some of the men that work for this company are very disrespectful to women in particular. I actually had one worker, after telling him ""I hope you don't speak to your wife like this!"" tell me ""YES, I DO !!""

Unbelievable in this day and age to have men behaving that way toward paying customers!

It's been years since I used Capitol Plumbing Contractors because since I remarried my husband has done all that stuff.
However,
I used to call them when I was a single mother and I'll always be grateful for their integrity. I didn't know my a$$ from my elbow with regard to plumbing and it would have been quite easy for them to take advantage of me - clueless as I was and in need of furnace or toilet repair.
But they never did. People later told me that the prices they charged me were more than fair. : )

After signing a contract for a repair to my sewer line and after they charged me thousands of dollars for 50% down, they never showed up to do the work. Each time I called I was given a date certain for the start and each time they did not appear. I had to contest the charges with my credit card company in order to get my money back.

A couple of years ago Capitol put in a new sewage line from our house to the septic tank. About 6 months ago the sewage line backed up into the house. One of the guys from Capitol plumbing came out to ""scope the line"" and found that one of the joints had not be set correctly and roots were coming through at that joint and the roots were causing blockage. Since then I have been calling Paul (the owner) and each time he gives me an excuse why he can't come out anytime soon, why he hasn't called me back the previous time and told me he would call me back in the next week. That has gone on for 5 months and I have not ever received a call back after 4 similar conversations with him and he is unwilling to even come out and review the problem. In the past every time there has been paying work he has sent someone out the same day but when he has to fix a problem forget it. I will NEVER use this company again and am looking for a new plumbing company.

WARNING -- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Charged $97.36 for service call. Instead of simply doing the annual maintenance and clean burners, the technician insisted I had more than $1,500 in repairs.

The next day I called the actual company who originally the heater; they did the maintenance for less than $75.00

Capitol is a rip off company.

I recently needed to purchase a new gas burner which heats my main house (4500 square feet), two guest houses and a garage. I also needed a new hot water heater for the main house. Since I live in other parts of the country besides Santa Fe, I am used to house repairs and I always get at least 4 quotes, which I did in this case. Capitol Plumbing did not try to upsell me like the other companies and they were by far the most competitive bid. One bid was $13,000 higher than the Capitol bid. They were extremely professional and completed the job in an excellent manner in two days, while the other companies told me that it would take between 3 and 5 days. I intend to use them for all of my plumbing needs. Paul, the owner of Capitol, was more knowledgable about heating than the other three companies put together. I highly recommend them.

Unless you like your hired contractors to prey on your fear (no heat in January) and your ignorance of plumbing, DO NOT USE THESE PLUMBERS!!!

They are either complete ignoramuses or totally dishonest. Long story short, I was told I needed a new boiler, told that x and y and z would need to be replaced, told that p and q were not up to code... it simply wasn't true. Got a second opinion from Agua Azul (recommended by my realtor) and spent 1/10th of what I was about to spend on Capitol to get the problem completely fixed. You are forewarned.
