Buddy is a very down to earth professional who was very easy to reach and accommodating with our schedule. Recommended.

Buddy is the best plumber we have found in Santa Cruz! He gave us the best quote and was also the most responsive when we needed a trench-less sewer repair. He not only always responds quickly to a variety of plumbing issues but on more than one occasion he has taught me how to fix a problem on my own. He truly cares about his customers and I highly recommend him!

Buddy is championship!!! Here we were on the Saturday before Christmas and he responded and got us going w/ hot water. A blessing considering my Dad has Alzheimer's & needs hot water for many things every day! Need a plumber? This man is the best.

Buddy did plumbing work at my sister's house and my mom's. Great work, great price. Would hire again.

I needed a trenchless sewer replacement. I went to several plumbing companies for estimates and I was shocked at how expensive it was. When I found Buddy Griggs plumbing, his estimate was half the price of those other estimates.
They installed the trenchless sewer in two days. The first day it was pretty much completely installed. On the second day they patched the concrete and asphalt and they were done.
They gave us a 10 year warranty on the sewer line replacement. I highly recommend Buddy Griggs and his team for all your plumbing needs.

Buddy Griggs gets 10 stars from me! I'm impressed and appreciative of his work.
I had a serious clog that a previous plumber gave up on, which is bad business! So I looked on Yelp and chose Buddy Griggs based on his positive reviews. I specifically contacted him because people mentioned that he responds promptly. They were absolutely right!
Buddy came right over the same day, and he and Gerardo persisted until they unclogged this very stubborn problem. They're a great team - professional, prompt, friendly, and efficient.
I highly recommend Buddy and his crew. Give him a call!

Buddy made multiple visits to our home to figure out why our sewer system was such a mess. He ran cameras and consulted with the inspectors and it turned out our sewer system had to be re-routed into the main. He and his crew arrived at 8am the day after Christmas (which I wasn't thrilled about!), but worked really hard for days to get the job done. We had two other plumbers turn the job down because it was too difficult, but Buddy and his crew are pros and made it a seamless, painless experience. He is now our go-to guy for all plumbing issues. He even finished our job at 6pm on a Saturday night. Thanks Buddy!!

We own an older home. It was built around 1946 and all the pipes are original. We have the clay (terracotta) sewer line typical of that era linking our house to the county line and it has held up well. We had been having intermittent blockage problems over the last 15 plus years that increased in frequency over time. I usually called a plumber to come and snake the line and that managed to keep things flowing. Eventually the backing up became more frequent and it came to the point where we had to do something more permanent. I started doing research on the various remedy options. There are basically 3. Trench the yard up and replace the pipe. Line the existing pipe with a resin based product, leaving the existing pipes in place. This is a good option if your existing pipes are straight and in good shape structurally. This could be your least expensive option if it will work. The third option is called ""Pipe Bursting"". With this method a new polyethylene pipe is pulled through the old pipe. The older , brittle pipe is actually gutted, and shattered as the new pipe is pulled through it. The new pipe becomes the old pipe in size, direction and trajectory. It's kind of like threading a very long needle, in the dark and many feet underground. This is what we had to do since our old clay pipe was to disjointed to take just a new lining. I would suggest getting as many bids as you can possibly find. Pricing was all over the place and I couldn't figure out why there was such a range in the prices for doing the same thing. This is not an inexpensive thing to do. I thought that since digging up a yard and the street was so labor intensive and expensive, that not digging up the yard was going to be very inexpensive. It's not. I spoke with no less than 5 different contractors. They were all very nice, experienced and all had great reviews here on YELP.
However, one stood out from all the rest and he was easy to spot. I hired Buddy Griggs Plumbing to do our job.. The first time I called him, he answered the phone. I didn't get a voicemail message, an answering service or a staff office person who needed to ""take a message"" , didn't understand what I was talking about and couldn't answer any of my questions. He set a time to come over, and he came. Not an estimator or another employee. The person that was actually going to do the work came to look at it. That was very reassuring. He was priced competitively, but he had a way of convincing me that we was very capable and that he had a lot of experience with this process. He assured me that the job would be completed on time, without any problems or unknowns. He made the whole process sound less intimidating less urgent and less risky sounding than others. There was no pressure. I think it was the confidence he had in his ability and in his ""crew"" that came across and that really made a difference to me. Contracts aren't a normal thing that everybody deals with. His bid was straight forward and easy for me to understand. There weren't any clauses about ""what if we find this"" with added expense for unknown or unanticipated issues that may arrive. I understood what it was going to cost, what I was going to pay and I could make a safe decision. He gave me a good price that I could bank on and I understood the terms and the work he was going to perform.
The day before he was to start, he stopped by again to take another look and check in with me. Nice, personable, friendly. He told me straight up that he really wanted the job. On the given day it was scheduled, he and his crew got to my house at 7:30 and put in a good 10 hour day. They knocked it out in one day. They worked hard and steady, barley taking a lunch break or any break at all. Remember. This involves digging out into the middle of the street. They managed traffic with ease. The work site was organized, their equipment was clean and well cared for and the work just seemed to flow effortless to me. Once the job was completed, they cleaned up the work site and my yard, looked as good as it did before they got there , except for the small area where they had to dig up the grass. In my opinion.. What they did and how they did it was nothing short of amazing.
This kind of repair or maintenance isn't easy to deal with and no homeowner wants to have to do it. But since I had to do it, Buddy and his crew made it as painless as possible. Highly recommended. I usually try and do my own repairs around the house, but if another plumbing issue arises that I can't do. I will call Buddy and his crew.

We had a clog from the washing machine. Owner and his helper came said their machine is too large to get into a laundry room. They will only snake from the cleanout in the driveway. If I wanted to snake from the laundry room, they consider that 2 snake outs. I've had plumbers snaking from the laundry room all the way past the main drain in the driveway and they considered that one snake out or everything I wanted done within one hour. I guess they don't want to bother to move anything. They just want to snake from outside. If you don't have an outside cleanout, you are out of luck.
I can't see how they have such rave reviews, perhaps not for pipe clogs.
$189 to snake less than 20 ft.
Guys had a bad attitude.
Won't be calling them again.
PS 3 weeks later,my drains are clogged again.

I called BGP around 9pm due to a leaking hot water heater. He was unable to get out that night, but walked me through what I needed to do so my house didn't flood. He showed up first thing in the morning as he said he would. Repairs were explained and completed in a timely manner. The service is what I expect from a privately owned plumbing business. I prefer to spend my $ by supporting locally owned, private businesses and I couldn't be happier with the service. Thanks, Buddy.
