For the first time ever I was satisfied with my HVAC installation. Steve gave us a quote, walked us through the whole process, as well as educating us on the best options. He was very thorough in completing his job in a timely manner. I have had my HVAC control system for over a year and had the chance to check out the performance of both the condenser and furnace, which both run smoothly. Job well done and looking forward to the next project.

We had a break-in at our home and they came to the rescue to install a new front door. These guys are amazing! Fast service and extremely affordable.

Completely unprofessional. AVOID. Steve commits to appointment and doesn't show up or call. Rental property has clogged drain pipe - called on Tuesday. Steve said he was booked Wednesday but could be there first thing Thursday morning (asks me to txt him the address - red flag here). I text him Wed. night to ask what time he plans to show. He txts back """"call you in the a.m."""". Thursday morning and no response. I call and he asks me to refresh his memory and then says that job is just too involved and he can put me on the schedule for next week. Meanwhile I have tenants who cannot use their kitchen sink for days b/c. Avoid Buckhead Plumbing - they are typical craigslist contractors.

We're in the process of selling a home with a quick close. My real estate agent reached out to Steve on Monday to clean out the sewer line and his crew completed the work the following day. Professional staff. Great communication. The company was our advocate and got the job done so we could meet the new homeowners demands prior to closing. 5 STARS.

Called Steve and he sent out a guy to fix a leak the water company said I had. Guy shows up, tells my wife that the water pressure valve regulator was the the problem and replaced it for $375. I thought it was strange since there was no leaking inside the house where the valve was, but I wasn't there to talk to the guy so not much that I could do. The guy also mentioned to my wife something about the water heater, which wasn't that old and was working fine. I thought that was odd. About a month later, my water bill is still sky high. I look in the basement and my water heater, which had been fine, is now leaking. I look at the valve they installed, about 20 feet away, and it's still dry. I then look outside the house, and see water bubbling in the yard. I call up Steve and he said it would be 2 days until they can get there to look at the problem. Since I can't wait that long, I then look up some videos on YouTube and figured out I had an outside water line leak. I dig around the yard and find the source of the outside water leak. I turn off the water at the water meter and then buy some parts from Home Depot and order some other parts Amazon to fix the problem. Steve finally sends a guy out a couple of days later and they tell me they need to replace the entire line to the meter, about 200 feet away, for $4,350. That evening, the last parts I ordered arrive and I repair the leak. All the parts in total cost me less than $40. As for the hot water heater, I pumped up the pressure on the expansion tank so the leaking has now stopped (thanks again, YouTube!). So here are the reasons why I gave them 1 star: 1) They misdiagnosed the issue and replaced a pressure valve that I suspect was working. 2) I suspect they dialed up the pressure valve and messed with the expansion tank pressure so the hot water heater would start leaking. 3) An estimate for replacing an entire line when all I needed was a line patch. Again, the estimate was for $4,350; I fixed the problem myself for $40 in parts. 4) After notifying Steve that I no longer needed his services, he leaves me a very nasty voicemail. They are incompetent, dishonest, insanely overpriced, and rude. I will absolutely never use their services again.

I called several companies from yelp after my pilot light went out and my Nest thermostat wouldn't work. All said 1-2 week wait, not going to work for me...Steve answered the phone and had his tech over the same morning! They quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, no problems. Will definitely call again if future issues arise.

Steve and his crew are top notch professionals. I got quick turnaround on a quote request and Steve was able to get someone out to me promptly within the same day. Conscientious and personable staff with the expertise to get the job done right the first time. They earned every one of those five stars.

Subcontracted the installation of our HVAC unit to an inept installer. I've had multiple people look at the system and tell me what a bad job this company did. Would never recommend working with Steve Malone.

I found this company on Yelp earlier this summer. I absolutely 100% would NOT recommend this company based on the following experiences I had: 1) June 27th: I called Steve Malone and we agreed on a definitive price. 2) June 28th: Craig come out to my home to fix the repairs. One of the issues we had was a leak from the pan, coming from condensate drain line. 3) June 29th: I paid Steve the balance due. Regarding costs, I would not recommend him for the following experience: 1) Steve was not upfront about costs (i.e., a $75 service call) - I have since found out that companies often apply the service fee to the work performed; 2) the discount that he had indicated when we first spoke was not reflected on the bill (i.e., because there were 3 units, he was going to discount 2 of them for the tune-up); and 3) his costs were REALLY high, i.e., it was $89 for an A/C tune-up that did not include an air filter. He charged an additional $25 for each air filter! I have since found out that other companies do not do that. 4) June 30th: We discovered from a leak in the ceiling that Craig had not fixed the issue! So, I called Steve. His initial reaction was disappointing - that is, he insisted that the job was done correctly and it had to be because of my """"old house"""". The house was built in the 90's. After I adamantly insisted that he needs to come and fix the issue which we paid him for, he said he could not come out on the weekend, so it would have to wait until Monday, July 2nd. This lack of availability is the down-side of working with a one-man company like this. 5) July 2nd: After repeatedly calling, Steve finally answered the phone, and indicated that he would be at our house no later than 6pm because he had a big job in Buford. He never showed up, and didn't return my calls. Again, this reflects the down-side working with a one- man company like this. 6) July 3rd: I called Steve first thing in the morning. After many calls, he finally returned my call around noon, only to say that he was still tied up with the big job in Buford, and would be at our house no later than 4pm. Then when I called back again around 4:30, Steve indicated that he would be there no later than 6pm. Craig got to my house that night at 8:15pm. At least he was honest enough to admit that he did not unclog the condensate drain line thoroughly. He says it has now been done properly. Very disappointed all the way around. The advantages of the larger firms is that the price is firm, you know what it is upfront, and, if anything goes wrong with their work, they have a large enough crew to send someone out the same or next day.

Just wanted to chime in here with my experience with Steve. I had a really bad experience similar to others on here. So Steve gets his customers by being quick to respond. I was on the fence using him because I saw some negative reviews on here. Should have gone with my gut. But he was quick to come out and I thought maybe this guy just had some growing pains in his business. What I can conclude is 1.) He hires people who are not licensed when he claims they are, at least when it comes to plumbing. 2.) Like others, you might get lucky and he might have a guy that knows enough to get the job done. However, if you are one of the unlucky ones prepare for disaster. 3.) Expect his prices, at least with plumbing, to be about 30% higher than a big name company in plumbing. He also will quote a price and then change it after the work is done by not just a few dollars but 15% or more than the already inflated 30%. In may case, I am skilled and know what work and labor are and knew I was being gouged already, so I kept him to his original quote. 4.) If you have a problem with Steve, yes he is responsive, but no he doesn't take responsibility for the shotty work his people do. Or at least isn't that sympathetic. He is very defensive. 5.) He only gives three months warranty on his work where most plumbing companies give a 1 year warranty. So to my experience, I had him come out and repair a ceiling leak. Wasn't too bad but had a feeling it was something easy to fix. Turns out one if his guys opened our ceiling and the builder had not capped a drain that should have been capped. Okay, no big deal. The problem is the job wasn't done correctly and after he left I had an enormous leak. The guy who did the work didn't even turn the water on to test. Because when I did a few days later in our guest bathroom, we had a nightmare of leaks with water running down our ceiling joists. Terrible terrible Terrible experience. I had already had the ceiling repaired from the leak so not only did I have a leak 5 times worse than what started but I had already repaired my beautiful ceiling. Steve was responsive. When I wasn't happy knowing that this had been shotty work done he kept saying we do the best we can don't be upset yada yahda The appropriate response for any business owner that is competent should have I am so sorry for what you have gone through, This is terrible I feel very bad this has happened we will be right out to repair not only the issue but the ceiling too. It will be done correctly and I will over see it's done right. YOU WILL NOT GET THIS RESPONSE WITH STEVE. ONCE HE HAS YOUR MONEY, YOU ARE SCREWED!!! So Steve did come out. We opened the ceiling and low and behold shotty work was done. My drain line was cut and left open and it was spilling sewage into my ceiling from the guest bathroom upstairs. After much pushing, Steve agreed to fix the damage to my ceiling. He said his new guy had experience doing this and they could get it all right. With Steve it's all lies with him. They don't know what they are doing when it comes to plumbing or sheetrock work. I had to get the repair professional done. 4 weeks later, I came home to a my ceiling leaking again after the 2nd repair. I am attaching the picture of the repair. Now you will see an arrow in red. This is what was discovered by my new plumber. No purple meaning they didn't even glue one side of the elbow they used and dry installed this. Sickening work from this guys. The other side does have purple so this is what you will get half ass work from them if you are that one 3 customers he services. Who knows if the other work he does even holds for other customers for more a year. Wouldn't be surprised if others who have written positive reviews have problems later. I texted Steve letting him know his second repair did not work and four weeks later I now have a huge mess leak in my house. He never texted back, no warranty no response no refund. I reached out to Greenlee Plumbing and have had excellent service. I am not staying Steve may not be licensed. I am not saying that things don't happen and sometimes contractors screw up. I am saying that a solid company with a warranty that fixes the damage they made worse and repairs anything that was damaged due to imperfect work, should be a no brainer for a business that is looking to have a good reputation in the industry. Even if you have to lose money for the mistake you made with a customer two or three times, you should be doing everything to try and resolve it and be very apologetic to the mess that made for the customer who in good faith, hired you believing you would provide great quality and service and have their back. Steve Malone is the owner of Buckhead Plumbing and does have other companies when I looked him up. I will be complaining on the BB and adding to any other reviews I can because this has cost me 15 plus hours of headaches out of my life and absolutely mess of money.
