$306 to replace a kitchen faucet and hook up a new gas range. Charged for two hours when it should have been one. Up charged supplies used also after I went to fetch some parts for them . Advertise military discount but not for veterans we found out. They did come out quickly but will not recommend to others.

Even for a small town of Rusk, there are plenty enough plumbers to avoid Buchanan Plumbing! We were charged over $200 for first trip and then $300 second trip time work that should have been taken care of the first call.
We own 80 acres in Rusk, TX which has a 500 sq. ft fully-furnished cabin on it. On 9/15 (or 9/16?), we called Buchanan's Plumbing Service because a friend found the ceiling above the bathtub had collapsed due to water leaking from the attic (probably water heater). We live in Omaha, NE so I used BBB.org to find a local plumber there that had a very good rating. We got a picture of the bill on 9/16 showing a charge of $207.50; $187.50 for labor and $20 "truck fee". I called Mr. Buchanan and he said he had to dispatch two plumbers (why two?), only to find no leak. I conceded that he did have to charge a trip fee but that our friend would not lie the day before about leaking. Instead of fighting, we paid the full bill. On 9/30, a different friend went to the cabin and said the ceiling was leaking over the bathtub (does not know the first friend). My husband called Buchanan Plumbing back and asked them to meet this different friend at the cabin, and to NOT perform any work until quoting us a price. The next thing we know, we got a bill for $305.05; $250 for two plumbers (again) and $20 "truck fee" along with some hardware. No one had ever called my husband to OK the work. When asked, Mr. Buchanan said he tried to convey the message but the plumber(s) did not get the message (blaming our ruralness) which we know to be untrue because we have an AT&T tower less than half a mile away and everyone has cell signal (it is an Airbnb location and wi-fi is a service we provide).

Buyer beware! They are NOT bbb.org members but they did have an "A" rating.

I do not recommend this plumber. Neighbor said my ceiling in my cabins bathroom had collapsed due to a leak so he turned off the water for me. I contacted Buchanan plumbing and they came out to fix the issue but said their was no leak and the ceiling must have collapsed due to an animal. Billed me over 200 dollars for turning on the water and telling me it isn't leaking. Buchanan left the water turned on to our cabin after determining there was no leak and billing us. Two weeks later a friend dropped by our cabin and said there was water all over the floor in our cabin bathroom and we had a leak. Called Buchanan back and they came back out with our friend there to point out the leak. When I called them the second time to come fix the leak I asked they call me before fixing the leak with a price. They went ahead and fixed the leak with out contacting me and billed me over 300 dollars this time. I asked why they didn't contact me before fixing it and he said they didn't have cell phone coverage there. Not my problem and our friend said his cell works great there. The leak was a drip is why they didn't see it the first time but assuming they were professionals I would have thought they would have expected something like that.

Make sure to make your payments up to date, because they have no problems harassing you, even if your a disabled elderly lady with heart problems and a fixed disability income that you made payment arrangements with since everything fixed was broke same day. Not to mention the fact that what the arrangements were made on was not fixed properly. As the new owner of the house that had previously been worked on to a tune of 3kby them, and conveniently I am having to have everything that they "fixed" re-repaired.

Unlike what Mr. Mark K said, Mr. Buchanan is a VERY hardworking man that gets the job done! We will definitely be using him for every plumbing emergency we have!

My situation was I had an outdoor faucet that was leaking into the wall, so I called Luke Buchanan to get this resolved. On the phone I explained to Luke what the problem was. When his employee arrived at my house, however, he did not have anything he needed to do the job. He looked at the problem, then said he didn't have the tools, and also that he had to leave to go to town to buy a new faucet.

Two hours later he returned with the faucet and tools, and got to work. Within no more than an hour, the job was done and he handed me a bill for almost $400.

I called Luke and he said that he charged me for over 3 hours of labor. Obviously, he billed me for the two hours that his worker was out doing who-knows-what.

I had to pay the bill (what choice did I have?) but complained to Luke, who refused to do anything about it. On top of that, that evening his worker called me from his personal cell phone later to complain that I was disputing the charges. To say that this felt threatening is an understatement.
