Very disappointed in Bryant heating and cooling, I explained in detail about the problem I was experiencing and informed the receptionist that I live in a condominium building. We scheduled a 3 hour window for the technition to arrive, I moved plans so I was able to be present when the technition arrived, I was contacted by the tech after waiting 2 1/2 hours and we discussed the issue with my air unit, he said he was on his way. Then about 5-10 minutes later a service manager called and informed me that they would not do work in my building even though each unit has it's separate HVAC units, the tech never even came into the condo building or my condo! So after waiting 3 hours in an un air conditioned condo they finally tell me they can't work on it without even looking at it!! If I would have been told at 9:30 this morning that they couldn't work on it I would have found another company to do it! Very poor customer service and disrespectful of clients time!

My wife likes the house frosty and was unhappy with way the A/C was responding, so we use a Bryant coupon for a system tune up.
The service person did a regular clean out, but stated that there may be a larger issue with the unit. His suggestions were; the filter was too thick (which he was right about) and then a full draining at a rate of $1500. The week after the tune up the unit began to really struggle and an exterior pipe froze up (image).
I did some googling and began to question the diagnosis. I then called the original installer of the unit (parts were still under warranty). Turns out there was too much refrigerant in the unit and a piece of insulation was blocking a coil. $325 and the unit is back up and running.

Moral of the story; don't use heavy duty unit filters just change the cheap ones more often, get a second opinion & always check Yelp! FIRST.

If you are a senior citizen don't call these guys. I called them because my mother-in-law has seen them in her neighborhood quite a bit. When they came to inspect her AC unit they charged 3 times what we had paid in Nashville TN for R22 the same week. They charged $450 for 2 pounds of R22 and the service call. The unit still did not keep up with the thermostat settings and my mother-in-law called them back out. This time the guy said it was the coil and gave her an estimate of nearly $4,000 to fix it. A new AC unit and coil that size would cost less. A clear attempt to take advantage of an 89 year old lady. The coil that was so bad is still functioning at the same capacity today one week after it's supposed demise last week.

I'd give them 10 stars if that was an option. My wife and I just had a baby girl -- who came six weeks early -- and our A/C decided to quit on one of the hottest days of summer, and on a Saturday no less.

The kind folks of this fine organization not only DO NOT charge a ""convenience"" fee for after-hours service (beware, some of their competitors do and it is EXPENSIVE), but they were able to come within hours and quickly diagnosed and repair the issue.

Some of their competitors -- namely Production and Prudential -- were out to take our money just to show up.

At the end of the day, Bryant Heating and Cooling have a customer for life because of their professionalism and focus on the customer. We couldn't be happier.

Last year, after many failed attempts to repair my a/c unit, a bryant employee told us that we needed to pay $8,000+ to replace my unit. After all this time, in the heat (with cancer), another company just fixed my unit. Please google this company and the scams they are known for to protect your hard earned money!!! I spent hundreds of dollars to be lied to, on numerous occasions, and spent too much time with heat exhaustion for nothing.

Con artist!! Yesterday was a Sunday (3-25-2018) and since I had seen an add for Bryant charging only $60 for a service call nights, weekends or whatever I decided to call them since my furnace was not kicking on. Within 2 hours a tech was here and after some checking of all of the pressure switches, igniter, etc. he determined that I needed a control board at the cost of $971 plus the $60 trip charge. I asked him if he had the part and he said no, but would order it. (Thank goodness he didn't or I would have had him do the work). While he was writing up the sales slip, I Googled the part he mentioned for my brand of furnace, (my furnace is only 5 years old) and saw that the most expensive one I could find was $250. I told him this, and he said ""that is only on-line and does not include the installation etc., but if you want to get a 2nd opinion you can"". Prior to me telling him what I found, he was going to change the $60 when he came back to install the new board. Now he said that he would just collect the $60 now and I could call him. Well, I think he knew at this time that I was on to his scheme, because when I asked him for the part number he was not able to supply it, because his system would not let him. So today (3-26-18), I had a 2nd opinion from another much smaller company, and the issue was a bad connection to the pressure switch. NO PARTS needed at all, and the cost was less for the trip charge for Bryant. Will never call them again, even if they were the only company in Louisville.

We had someone come out to look at our heat pump and was told the reverse valve needed replacing and that it would cost $2100 to replace. We then had someone else come out and look it and was told we needed freon and the reverse valve was working fine. *insert thinking emoji here* The 2nd tech did what was needed as far as replacing the freon and now my system works as it should. Let's just say, I saved a few grand going with the 2nd opinion. Just to be clear, the 2nd tech was from a company other than Bryant.

We called Bryant for their ""inspection"" service, and was not pleased with the way I was treated. The technician spotted a small drop of oil and proceeded to tell me we needed additional service on our furnace or it could cause problems. He quoted a very high price, but said if I decided to do it today I would get a discount. I have heard that techs with Bryant are encourage to upsell services and believe that to be true! It seems he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman and not perhaps knowledgeable about the workings of my heating and cooling system. Fortunately, my husband works in the construction industry and I did not fall for the upsell. We have had no issues with our furnace, the oil was insignificant, according to a person my husband knows in the heating and cooling industry. Not saying Bryant does not do good work, but they seem to prey on people, perhaps targeting the elderly, and try to upsell them or sell them services or repairs they really do not need.

Just an update on their service. The Attorney General had to sue them and Bryant has settled due to price gouging, having unlicensed techs work on equipment and selling unnecessary equipment.

Will never use their services again. They messed up on our heater and instead of trying to rectifying the situation they said they would be doing us a favor by fixing it. Then each person who we talked to on the phone was nasty and had an attitude. Avoid using their services because they're very expensive and if they screw up it'll be your fault and they won't reimburse you because if they offer to fix it they will be doing you a favor. I will most definitely go to another company for anything to do with my heat or air. I wish I didn't have to give them a star at all.
