Greetings, I’m Louis Bruno, the owner/operator of Bruno. I appreciate you taking the time to explore our Yelp page. Having spent ten years in the HVAC sector, I know this industry thoroughly. I developed my business model by analyzing the HVAC sector and identifying the best practices to serve our customers. I’ve found that customers appreciate when service professionals honor their time; thus, I emphasize on-time service, professional attire, identification badges, and shoe covers to protect your floors. I kicked off my career as an AC helper with a small family-owned firm in Fort Myers, where I trained in the business, equipment, processes, and system operations. In 2012, I established Bruno, and my aim is to ensure my entire team excels and surpasses your expectations!

This company scheduled a service call almost two weeks ago and on the day they were to come out they called at the last minute to say they were not coming. Usually they call the day before to remind you of the appointment but this time they just waited till service day to say they were not coming....this is after i had already paid the tenant in the house to stay home from work because i do not trust them after the rip off scandal they are immersed in. They will not work with you to reschedule. No one from management will talk to you and they use the low paid office workers to do the dirty work. They deserve to go out of business because they are predators.

Turns out that the Bruno Air technician potentially cut a wire on purpose to break my A/C. Would love to join this lawsuit and testify against them: https://www.nbc-2.com/story/39794027/deputies-swarm-bruno-total-home-in-bonita-springs

This company is horrible! They are dishonest and tried to prey on our fears as parents. They told us we had a mold problem and even went so far as to usher our 3 year old away from the open vent stating it wasn't safe for him to breathe the air. That's unbelievably deceitful! They told us we needed to replace both our units to the tune of $30,000 plus. We got a second opinion with Abby Air and our service total was a few hundred dollars. Stay far away from these unethical jerks!

DONT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY This letter is regarding the service, maintenance calls, and correspondents with and by Bruno Total Home on Nov 7th, 2018, Nov 8th, and Nov 9th, and follow up service calls by DownEast Air on Nov. 9th, & 12th, 2018 Nov 7th, 2018 -Thursday Bruno Total Home sent Pete, an air condition tech, to conduct a maintenance check on the AC condensing unit Rheem 13 series 5K 2 TONS and Rheem air handler-410A (Bruno Total Home installed 01/18/13) and repair a small PVC pipe that was leaking, inside our 3rd FL condo. The air handler and H20 heater are located in a closet. The H20 heater on the bottom and air exchange on the top. The small PVC pipe that needed repair is located above the H20 heater. The small PVC pipe leaked H20 in the drip pan below the H20 heater. When Pete, the AC tech, finished his inspection of both the air handler and outside AC condensing unit he discovered we needed a new surge protector. Pete, the tech, said if we, signed a $955 membership contract, he would not charge us for the surge protector and would also place a mold prevention device in the air handler. We signed on a cell phone like pad and thought we would receive an electronic copy of the signed contract or hard copy later (despite repeated calls and Emails to Bruno Total Home we have never received a signed contract to this date). Pete, the AC tech, said he could not fix the small pipe above the water heater. Pete, said a plumber was needed to replace the small PVC pipe, and remove the H20 heater to drain the drip pan that was filled with H20 from the small PVC that was leaking. Pete contacted a Bruno plumber, and scheduled service from Bruno Total Home to replace the small PVC pipe, remove the H20 heater, to drain the pan and fix the drain behind the H20 heater that was not properly draining the H20 in the drip pan. Bruno Total Home, had also had installed this H20 heater in Jan 2013. Pete, the ac tech, from Bruno Total Home, who also conducted a maintenance routine service call that included an inspection of the entire AC unit said everything else was fine. Pete, the tech, never ever mentioned the AC was leaking Freon on this supposed maintenance call. We, believe, Pete the tech from Bruno, must have removed the Freon during this maintenance call. Again, we the Graydons, noted, prior to Thursday, Nov. 8th, the Air Handler was not leaking and frozen. Nov 8th, 2018 Friday morning Ivan the plumber, from Bruno Total Home, arrived in the morning on Nov., 8th, 2018. Ivan the plumber, removes the H20 heater, drained the drip pan and vacuumed out the drain behind the H20 heater. He assures us,, if there are future leaks, the drain is now unclogged and if any H20 leaks in the drip pan it will now drain properly to the outside. Ivan also replaced the small PVC pipe that was previously leaking. The plumber from Bruno Total Home charged $340.00 for this service. Before Ivan leaves, we notice that the air handler is now leaking. We know it was not leaking yesterday (Nov., 7th, 2018) because when Pete, the AC tech was there, yesterday, at our condo, changed the air filter and we observed. THE AIR HANDLER WAS NOT LEAKING OR FROZEN on Nov 7th. When Ivan removed the air filter to see where the H20 leak was coming from, the face of coils in the air handler were covered in ice and now dripping H20. Ivan called Bruno Total Home and told them to send an AC tech out, again, to see what was wrong. Nov 8th, 2018 Friday afternoon Later that afternoon, on Nov, 8th, 2018, 2 techs arrived from Bruno, along with a manager. The manager from Bruno tells us we now have a leak in the system and they don't know where the leak is coming from. The manager tells us, they want to run a test tomorrow, on Friday, Nov 8th, 2018 to see if the leak is in the copper pipes running from the outside of the ac unit into our condo. The manager tells us, the air handler is definitely leaking Freon because so much Freon is leaking it must be leaking somewhere else too (Frozen coils and water dripping are in indication of a leak in the system). The manager from Bruno tells us the test will cost $900 and if they have to replace the copper pipes it will cost $7500. The manager also recommended replacing the entire AC Unit with a better one as the new one will be under warranty and that the exsiting Bruno Air installed in Jan 2013 is not. The manager from Bruno tells us, the AC unit Bruno had installed on January 18, 2013 was now out of warranty. The manager, from Bruno, also tells them not to use the AC at night or to keep it above 80 degrees because it would damage the AC unit. The manager, from Bruno, also advises us not to get a second opinion because it was not necessary,- We did DOWNEAST AIR came and replaced the FREON that Bruno removed - our AC is Fine and still UNDER WARRANTY..THERE IS A lot more to this but running out of space. We are Filling a complain with the AG office in Florida, Sr vs Crime, Dept of BUs. and Prof.REG - .

I have been a customer of Bruno air conditioning for years now. Last year the installed a new AC system and it's been nothing but problem after problem. It takes multiple visits to fix things and still not right. No one in any management position ever calls back. I'm not one to throw my hands up and quit but I've had enough with this company. I'm not hanging around with them even though I have a few more years on my service contract. They stuck dont even go with their bargain service.

After my summer annual service where I also had UB lights installed to prevent mold - my house stopped cooling properly / it was uneven and warming up to 82 degrees during the day. IBruno came back out and told me I had improper type ductwork ( mobile home ductwork in my attic ), it was 14 vs 16 inches needed for a 3 ton machine, it was deteriorating rapidly ( since August ) due to the UV radiation beating down on it through my metal roof, it had many leaks that were at this point not reliably repairable, my coil was leaking due to the improper size of my ductwork, and my static pressure was too high - again because of my ductwork. I needed to replace my coil and ductwork ASAP to not compromise the motor which could fail because of the bad static pressure . I asked to verify that my ductwork was not just loose or leaking somewhere down the line because everything had been working great in August at my service call. Two more visits with field supervisor oversight verified their original findings each time. - incorrect type, size , and decrepit deteriorating ductwork, leaking coil, high static pressure . I had two other companies come to give me quotes on the work required since Bruno""""s total was 16500 for the required repairs. The problem turned out to be a duct dislodged 16"""" from its mixing box leading to my master bedroom. Once it was reconnected ( 123$ ) - all my cooling issues resolved. No leaks were detected anywhere along the line - my coil is not leaking - my static pressure is perfect - and I have 16"""" ductwork. My house was cooling properly before the annual service and UV light installation, the problem occurrd just after the visit but none of Bruno's techs would discuss anything with me except full renovation of my ductwork to solve my cooling problem ( four hours total of ductwork sales pitches ). I will admit that Replacing the duct work as recommended would have fixed my cooling issue as it would have rectified the 16 inch gap between the loose duct and the mixing box. I like the 123$ fix better without also replacing a perfectly good coill for 1500 parts and labor.

Bruno air The worst company that I have ever dealt with. Called Bruno air to do maintenance on my air-conditioning unit. They came now and did a inspection try to sell me all kinds of stuff that I did not need. And while I was not looking. The service tech sabotage my air-conditioning unit.! One month later the compressor blew up. At that time the only people that I can get to come out was Bruno air they charged me $4000 over anybody else for a low grade unit. if I had no that they were going to put a low-grade unit in for that kind of money I would not have paid for but they had already taking the old unit out. It was a done deal by that time. Maybe I can help someone not make the mistake that I did. Do not use these people ever.

I just had Bruno replace a thermostat for me. They told me it would cost """"one thousand ninety five."""" I verified this amount verbally at least twice. So, I thought it would be $1,095. They made me sign on a shiny screen that didn't clearly show the amount when I signed. A couple days later my bill with them indicated $1,950. I called them to correct it, but they claimed I had signed for the larger amount. Two weeks after this repair and now that I'm out of town for a few weeks, my a neighbor tells me my A/C condenser sounds bad and is working constantly. Before this incident, I paid Bruno $3,500 two or three years ago to repair my HVAC and a couple annual maintenance calls afterwards. My HVAC system for a 2,300 sf home is over 10-years, I've sunk about $6,000 into it with Bruno, and I'll probably still need to replace the system relatively soon. I've had it with this firm. Besides this posting I'll be filing a complaint against Bruno with the BBB. As other people have mentioned as well, they charge absurd fees - and aren't reputable. Stay away from Bruno, unless you like being fleeced!

The worst lying thieves in SW Florida. Fell for their $29 radio scam. Wanted $8000 plus for overpriced unit I didn't need. 3 years later the unit the said was faulty is humming along just fine. Stay away...you have been warned

I feel that Bruno Total home services attempts to take advantage of home owners through Pace program.I was quoted $31,000 for new a/c system. Interesting enough, that is the maximum allowed, through Pace program, for my house. $31,000 could cover new a/c, duct work, insulation, pool pump, new windows and doors. That will make sensible use of Pace energy program. I will find fair and reasonable contractors to perform these upgrades to my house. I have never seen a Bruno service vehicle in my subdivision. Now I fully understand why!!
