Recommended Customer Reviews

It has been two years since we installed our standard drop-in sink, the caulking has failed in a 3-inch area of the sink edge, allowing water to seep into the particle-board base of the laminate countertop. As a result, the base has swelled, creating a noticeable bubble on the counter surface beneath the laminate. The laminate was recently installed and completed by experts.
I called Roy to discuss. He said the caulk is not under warranty. He stated that such problems can arise from regular wear and tear. I said, So there's nothing you're going to do about it? He replied, Things just aren't made like they used to be Essentially, this indicated no. No alternative solution exists; the countertop, priced at over $2,000, must be replaced, and the sink and plumbing require uninstalling and reinstalling.
In my 40 years of home-ownership, I have had only laminate kitchen counters, and I have never experienced this problem. I should mention that I have not had any issues with the disposal, valves, or drains that Roy put in.
NOTE: BRS Services promotes itself as "Handyman Professionals," but Roy quickly clarified, after I detailed the problem, that he focuses on plumbing and electrical services. Interesting, right?
