I was terribly disappointed in this company and their service. First of all we put the service call in at 8:00 am and we didn't see anyone until 5:30. He was very apologetic for his being late after giving us a time of 4:30. After diagnosing our problem, he told us he needed a part but assured us he would be back first thing in the morning with it. We gave the man our money and after lots of time in his van on and off he left. He never came back to do the job in the morning. I called several times to no avail. My final call was to let the answering service (because that's all I could reach)know that I would be reversing the charge and calling someone else.

Hill Billy plumbers at best! How hard is it to fix a water line properly? 2 days without water and it's still not fixed. I have a kennel business and a home attached to that water line. Maybe I should just fix it myself.

If there was a place for no stars I would click on it.

We had two issues. (1) a trap needed to be snaked out and (2) the commode was running and needed a small rubber washer.

Had an apt for 10-12 noon. Called at 2:00 and the plumbers were tied up on another job. Not a problem since things happen. They arrived at 5:45pm.

They presented me with an estimate of $850 and generously offered a 10% discount due to their lateness. I have had the trap cleaned out numerous times over the years and it has never cost more than $200. The washer had to cost no more than 50 cents. So much for parts.

I asked them politely to leave the premise. I called another plumber and they came out first thing next morning. It took them 20 minutes. One guy cleaning the trap the other to fix the commode.

Cost $185.

2/26/16 I appreciate your reply even though it makes no sense whatsoever.
1) you didn't charge me $1.00? Why would you? Do you charge for estimates?
2) I am not a customer of yours? Is there two sets of prices? One for customers and one for new business? Seems like a strange way to run a business.
3) I have had the trap cleaned out like three times in 30 years. That does not seem excessive to me. I mean this is not rocket science that your snake is sooooo much better than someone else uses. The washer was in the commode since the guest house was built which was 20 years ago.

How about addressing the real issue here. $850 for 20 minutes of work for two guys. How about justifying that, other than you think new customers are village idiots.

I have used Brown & Sons Plumbing several times for various projects in my home. I was very patient letting them come back the following day. Once they found the parts they needed... Each job they did they had to return to fix because of joints or valves leaking. Each job required a minimum of 3 follow up repairs. The last repair, they sent a new plumber I never saw before. He told me that he couldn't find the correct part that fit my current delta faucet and he needed to go to another job if he can finish that in time he would be back. If not, he would return the following day. He actually returned in just over an hour with a new part. He replaced the part and told me that because the other part that was put in was forced and may have caused damage. At some point the entire valve would have to be replaced. Regardless I would need to replace the entire faucet with a new one. He would give me a quote and the office would call me back with an adjusted quote because of the money I had already spent. They never called. After this repair was completed I had to go out of town on business. While out of town one evening I was talking to my wife and she informed me of the small leak has turned into a steady stream, she was able to get it to shut off by turning the valve on slightly it would stop the stream. So at this time I was not sure how bad the leak was and I would call Brown & Sons once I returned. I called for service and to explain the issue. The answering service said they would see if they could contact one of the techs. But they are all out on calls and due to the holiday more than likely no one would contact me until Monday possibly Sun night. I told her that was fine I would just like some one out as quick as possible because this would be costing me a fortune! She understood and would convey my message. I was given a follow up call on Sunday and the person who is the receptionist / Office Mgr. depending on what time of day you talk to her? Started to tell me how this was repaired to the best of their ability and it now going to be x $$$ to repair and ... I started to explain that this whole process was unacceptable and I would really like to have this complete to my satisfaction. That they have been out to my residence countless times and have not fixed any problem yet ? 3 techs and over 3 months later. And now they want over 1,100.00 to replace a faucet?? I explained that I had family members who could fix this right the first time and wouldn't cost anywhere near that kind of figure. This is when one of the Techs got on the phone and told me to have them fix it and how he was personally out to my home on several occasions and fixed the problems. How dare I question his receptionist I should have my brothers fix it. I started to explain they live 1200 miles away and that's when they hung up on me.

The best part was when I had tried to contact them this last attempt at a repair. I called every number I found on the web from their own web site to yellow pages and not one phone number worked. I finally went to one of my early hard copies of a bill and found a number that worked. Contacted the Receptionist / Office Mgr. and she told me that they restructured because the many issues they had and are in the process of straightening out the business. Due to the new Management? If I could produce a receipt showing that they did the work and if the work was warranted? Because their complete system was all disconnected due to the old system they used and the new one they are switching to. So made a copy and drove it down to their office and left it as instructed, because she only works limited hours and would not be there until the next morning. She called back the next morning and told me I needed to bring her the second page? I explained I was at work so I would get it to her as soon as I could. She later called back to tell me she found a copy from one of the techs iPads and they would cover it because it was under warranty.

Well in the end a warranty is really needed when dealing with this company of unprofessional childish non-plumbers. Use at your own risk!!! 3 Months 3 plumbers New ownership and still not fixed. I've decided to fly my family members in to fix this once and for all in the long run it was cheaper by far!

If you need a plumber, Brown and Sons are absolutely the best. They are out of Denton but traveled to Valley View for only $49. Three other plumbers have been here and couldn't find this leak. They found it in 15 minutes. We been trying to track it down since last October and now it's fixed! If you need a plumber, give them a call at 940.300.5258. And they give a 90 day warranty on all of their work. Outstanding service! Thanks, guys!! Nikki and Matt E.

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because the system makes you! We scheduled an appointment that they failed to show up for. When we call to find out why they were delayed we were told they had an emergency and could not make it, when I asked if they would be able to come the following day so I did not have to find another plumber at 5pm on a Friday. I was told they were not sure... The girl on the phone was extremely rude and very nonchalant about the entire ordeal. Would never recommend to any!

I would not recommend Brown & Sons Plumbing to anyone for any reason. My experience was very unsatisfactory for numerous reasons & despite multiple messages left to try & resolve the situation I can't even get a call back.

Our main drain needed a clean out and Brown & Sons could get here quickest. They did not state price up front, then charged twice as much as others in the area. Within the week our main drain was clogged again, so we called them and were told that the roots probably had grown back. Refused to stand by their work. Shoddy work at best and very unprofessional in person and on phone.

On November 20th we had a water heater leak in our attic and I called Brown & Sons Plumbing out to give me an estimate for replacing the unit and to bypass the leaking water heater so I could turn the water back on at my house. While there, the repairman stepped off the platform the water heaters were located on and through the ceiling in my upstairs bathroom. Gary, the repairman, took pictures of the damage and told me that his office would be in contact with me to take care of the damage. After hearing nothing from their office for nearly two weeks I called them on December 2nd. Melinda in the office told me they had not heard about the damage so I sent her the invoice from the sheetrock repair guy and asked if they could take care of the bill promptly. She said they would contact Gary and let me know something quickly. After not hearing back from them by the afternoon of the next day, I called to check on the status. This was when Melinda informed me that Brown & Sons would not pay for the damage they did to my property. They said that when I signed for the service they performed that day that their contract states they are not responsible for any damage to my property. She also went on to say that there was not ample working room in the attic and that the wood was wet, causing him to slip. I informed her that I had been up there the previous night while the water heater was leaking and never slipped once. Also, I had two other companies come out to quote the work and one company removed two 50 gallon water heaters and replaced them with a tankless unit all without stepping through my ceiling. There was plenty of room to work. She then went on to say that they could file a claim against my homeowners insurance for any injuries the plumber might have received when he stepped through my ceiling! This company is unethical and does not have a single ounce of integrity anywhere in the organization. There should be a zero star rating on here. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BROWN & SONS PLUMBING!! They are crooks...

Find Someone Else!
I called Brown & Sons for a small toilet issue recently that I could not fix myself. There was no rush on the work. When the plumber arrived, I showed him the issue and he left to get a part he needed. When he returned, I was quoted a crazy, high price for that job on Nov 19.
With their $59 call-out fee, it would have cost me that to send the guy packing. The plumber was unable to explain what work was being done to warrent such a high cost. Parts alone were less than $15 at Lowes. So, reluctantly, the work was completed and done well. However, I never received my itemized receipt via email from their system as I was told. I called their office a week later to have it sent over and still have not received it. They did not get a life-long, home owner customer out of me. I am very dissappointed at how this job has been handled.
