martin k.If I could give zero stars this would be it....
Got a few lawsuit threats from their lawyer and, although they delivered VERY poor service that ended up costing me significant amounts of money, it's not worth keeping my initial review up as I've already spent too much time on this company. Be aware of these guys and be careful about leaving negative reviews....they'll rather threaten you with lawsuits vs doing the right thing. Now that's great customer service!
AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!!!!
Can someone please help me understand how BBB and Tom Martino approved these guys? They have terrible online reviews almost across the board, and I too had an unbelievably bad experience--i should have trusted all of you rather than the so-called pros!
I hired Brothers after searhing a ""referal list"" Brothers must have paid a lot to be on that list. Very expense for the quaility of work preformed, I will never use Brothers again.
Called them to fix a running toilet and a leaking faucet. They wanted $279 to replace a $40 toilet part and $309 to replace a $23 faucet part. I could of replaced with a brand new toilet and faucet for far less. Ended up paying $45 for the service call and sending them on there way. I would strongly advise not using theses guys unless you are trying to throw money away. I ended up getting the whole job done for $150 from another plumbing outfit.
Price gouging. I ended up spending $400 on a rooting and sewer scope only to be quoted $13,000 to fix my sewer line which in turn was fixed by another company for closer to $8000 with flawless work. I WILL say the 2 plumbers that came to my residence (i don't remember their names) were courteous, kind, and understanding of my problems . The second company verified everything Brother's said and agreed that the work must be done, Brothers just wanted a bigger piece of the pie.
I will give them 2 stars because the customer service deserves a 4 or 5, the cost of the work deserves a 1. I would have loved to go with Brothers if other companies had quoted closer the $13k, not $5k less.
Crilani S.I'm giving them a middle of the road review for the following reasons:
Pro's:
* They were prompt
* I didn't have to wait 3 weeks for someone to MAYBE show up
* The work performed was well done
* They complimented me on my Dr. Who T-Shirt
Con's:
* Their retail markup on parts were outrageous
* After I assigned some GENEROUS values to their marked up parts, I estimated their hourly rate at being around $200 an hour. That, too, seems very high.
* They use the same ""flat rate pricebook from hell"" like Applewood Plumbing uses (generally slanting costs in their favor)
* They didn't know who ""David Tennant"" or ""Tom Baker"" was!
Fairly certain I won't use them again unless I'm in an absolute pinch.
Tory G.I had these guys come out to check out an issue with my basement plumbing - no flushing, bathtub backing up, washing machine issues, the works.
I read reviews on Yelp and Google Places and wasn't impressed (talk of price gouging) but I couldn't find anyone better, I needed help immediately, and they were offering ""free consultations"" for the weekend.
The fellow came to my house the night before my housewarming, so I was a little too desperate to get it fixed. However, when I saw the price tag ($1,350-$1,500 plus maybe some electrical work) I balked. He said I had the wrong kind of pump (mind you, he didn't check) and would need replacing. I sent him home. Not that he was happy about it.
Several months later I was ready to bite the bullet and pay these astronomical rates when my boyfriend got a recommendation from our neighbor (Leaving a review for them soon, check it out) and we called them. Needless to say, they were AWESOME.
Turns out we didn't need a new pump, we needed 2 hours of labor to remove a blockage in the pipe.
I won't be calling on Brother's again, thank you very much.
Naomi M.I called Brother's for looking at a dishwasher that was refusing to drain. They warned me that they didn't service appliances and that they would still charge a $45 fee to come out to take a look at the drain and the garbage disposal. The visit was fine, paying the fee was fine. What I'm upset with is their billing department. They had some trouble with running my credit information. I called my bank and confirmed my address and other information. They had trouble again and called. I called them back and said to run the card, it should work. After an incredibly busy headache of a week at work, I got a letter saying that if I didn't pay up, they would turn my account over to collections. This was 3 weeks after the visit. Not 30 days, not 90 days, 3 weeks. I let it sit for a bit since I was so angry and called and gave them the credit card information again. They ran it and it worked. Huh, that's convenient. I didn't like the fact that they were bullying for payment and said they recorded all the times they tried to call me but none of the calls came through and no friendly letter saying, ""Hey! We're having issues with your bill. Please call us.""
Poor form, Brothers. Poor form.
Steven B.If you use these guys you WILL over pay. My parents had a leaky facet, they called these guys out to take a look at it and were told it needed to be replaced. My parents choose a run of the mill facet and were charged $675 to get it and have it installed. What a rip - the facet was only $50 so for less than an hour of work they were charged $625 just for labor..... I will never advise using Brothers Plumbing and Heating
Rick S.I've dealt with lots of plumbers over the years. And really, the only downside with Brothers Plumbing is that they are pretty expensive. However, all that extra expense pays for a trained, knowledgeable, and courteous crew. If they are running 5 minutes late, a call to the office is all it takes to track down the tech. And yes, they wear their little booties while on the job.
They answer the phone with the greeting, ""How can we make you smile today?"" Pretty corny, but it beats, ""What else can we do to tick you off?"" which is what a few outfits might just as well say.
Another upside-they've been around forever, I've used them off and on forever, and if there is a problem with their work they stand behind it.
