The man at the register was very nasty and dismissive towards me. I'm putting up shelves in my house and am learning about how to drill. I was looking for a drill bit but wasn't sure what size to buy. I showed him the nail that I'm using and the size of the holes in the wall. Since I did not know the diameter of the hole, he said that he could not help me. I even showed him a picture and he said, ""nope can't help you."" He did not even try to guide me or educate me. He clearly has a wealth of knowledge if he runs the counter at a hardware store but felt that he did not even want to sell to me or even want me in the store. That's completely fine. I'll continue to give my money to the hardware stores in Harlem that welcome people who look like me.

I was searching for a unique lightbulb. After calling half a dozen places I tried brothers hardware they were beyond helpful and actually had the bulbs in stock. They held for me and I was able to run over and pickup. They have a huge selection of miscellaneous tools and parts which is unusual in Manhattan. I was so impressed the item was in store and at how kind helpful everyone was. Old world service like this is few and far between. 5 stars!!!

Besides the usual household hardware that I need regularly I have also gotten material for study of electricity: tools, wires, connectors, and the rest. The staff here has been truly helpful with that as I have observed they are with all customers' needs. One thing that stands out with the one owner that I know is that he is committed to his business and shows it in a business-like and neighborly way.

Came in here to buy double sided heavy duty tape for a coat rack. Immediately upon entering, one of the workers greeted me and asked me if I needed help. Even though I was there to buy tape, the man actually recommended using screws - even though the screws were cheaper! Great customer service. Will come again for my hardware needs.

Excellent hardware store. Owner Jim is incredibly nice and all the staff seems knowledgeable. It's a small space, but they have virtually everything and it's organized! Big plus - prices are very good. Seriously, for basics in midtown - great prices. I've been renovating nearby and this place has been a godsend.

Friendly helpful folks. Helped me find spanner screwdriver tips. Also got a can of compressed air - was a little taken aback by the price, $7.99 for a 10z can of Blow-Off that sells for half the price on Amazon if you buy in bulk, but I guess if you need it in a pinch you have to pay the price.

In and out in 5 minutes, great place. Recommended for any hardware needs.
