They charged 450 dollars for ten minutes of work to replace a flushing mechanism . Three weeks earlier, they here working in my neighbors yard, and trenches our yard with their equipment
Our water started releasing water through the discharge valve and on 6/1/21 it was spewing out about a gallon per hour. Fortunately, it was in my garage, easily accessible and setting on concrete. I decided to replace it so I went to Home Depot and purchased a new unit at 9:45AM. The sales representative indicated that he could arrange for same day installation and would have a Brothers' representative call me. Later, I received a call from Brothers indicating that a service person would be out on the last call of the day for a consult. I replied that I had the new water setting heater in my garage, and just wanted it installed and no consult. I reluctantly agreed, but nobody from Brothers showed up that day. The next morning I called Brothers early and was told that a service representative would be there by 8:30AM. Around 9:30AM a service plumber arrived to give me an estimate. The estimate was higher than I expected, but by this time water was coming out of the unit much faster. So, after a thorough review of the estimate details, I agreed to have him go ahead with the install. Unfortunately, he indicated he was just there for the estimate and would schedule an installation the next day at 8:30 AM. Once again, I consented since I did not want to go through this process again. The next day the Brothers plumber and arrived around 9:00AM followed by the electrician. They did a nice job on the installation, and while the plumber was finishing I checked the circuit box and found that my circuit breakers for the water heater had not been replaced as provided in the estimate. They are the original breakers, about 38 years old, and the service plumber who did the estimate assured me that they should be replaced to which I agreed. I had to leave for my Grandson's preschool graduation just as the electrician pulled away from my driveway. When I mentioned this shortcoming to the plumber, he said the electrician decided replacement was not necessary even though this was included in the estimate and having no idea as to their age. As I was leaving, the plumber said he would follow up with the electrician. I thanked and indicated that the installation otherwise looked great. The next morning, I called Brothers to give them the credit card information in payment for the installation and mentioned the failure to replace the breakers. I was told they would follow up and send someone out the finish the Job. Regrettably, I actually paid the full estimate assuming they would follow through. Today is 9/19/21, more than 3 months after the original installation and still no new breakers. During the past several weeks I have called Brothers at least 6 times reminding them, the job was not complete. Each time I was told they would have someone call me to schedule the breaker installation. No has called, and on one of my calls they actually suggested that they give me a refund of of $15 per breaker and I could go purchase and install them -convenient for Brothers, probably saving them at least $300, but not for me. On my last call with them, I was told that someone was going to call me and schedule the breaker installation the next day. This did not work for me so I suggested they call and schedule an alternative time. Once again nobody has called - obviously they got their payment in full so they just do not care. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I plan to follow up with Home Depot Customer Service and the BBB regarding my experience.
Never use these guys i called in at 6:00 a.m in the morning for a.c. being out ,they adivced they would be out at between 12;00 and 8:00 got a call at 12:30 saying they couldnt make it.They should have not make the appt if they were overbook, online they offer 24/7 service but that not true, very unprofessional buisness, wouldnt recommend this company to anyone not good service at all!!!! Never calling this company again!!!
Set appointment (3 properties) for spring service. Rep called last minute and cancelled. Poor customer service. Do not schedule service with this company!
Brothers Heating & Air has the worst service of any vendor I ever used. If you have all day and part of your evening to wait for them to show up then they are for you. They give you a time frame of 10am to noon and who knows when they will show up...in another words their window time frame is a joke!
If anyone here uses Brothers for their HVAC service, I urge you to find a more reputable company. I've used them for over 10 years and before now have never had any issues. I recently had them out to do an inspection of my HVAC system prior to the sale of my home. I had the semi annual inspection done in October and the technician found everything in excellent condition. At that time the only recommendation was to have a UV light installed to prevent allergens which I declined then and about 10 times before. I had them come about a month later for the """"home sale inspection"""" for $200 plus tax. When the technician arrived she went up in to my attic, after about 10 minutes she emerged to tell me I had a cracked heat exchanger, showed me a thumbnail photo (I don't know what a cracked heat exchanger looks like) I took her at her word but felt uneasy in as much as they had just been here in October. Of course, I had to have this taken care of asap so I scheduled the repair. Good news, the part is covered by warranty, bad news it's a lengthy job and the price was going to be around $2500. I was discussing this with my daughter & son in law who urged me to get a second opinion, they called the company who has serviced their HVAC for over 12 years - Travis Crawford HVAC - who sent a technician the next day. He was in my attic for more than an hour and emerged to tell me that I did not have a cracked heat exchanger - he had photos and videos to prove it. Needless to say, relieved! I immediately called Brothers to cancel my repair and ask for a refund of the $200 I paid them. That's when it got """"unprofessional"""" - I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life by Jason Stilwell, I might mention while I was on hold waiting to speak with him the background ads played - one said """"if you are unhappy with the service we will happily refund your money"""". Jason Stilwell, the supervisor I spoke with said they would refund my money only if he and the technician could come to my house and meet the other company's technician - """"he would be happy to show the other technician how you find and identify a cracked heat exchanger."""" Why would I ever let them back in my home and how incredibly rude and disrespectful not only to me but the other technician. He actually raised his voice to me - there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. I did not get a refund. Mr Stillwell told me that not he or any of the supervisors would approve a refund. Very rude!
Just had an estimate to install a kitchen faucet.. Faucet all ready purchased.. $$700.00!!Unbelievable . How that guy kept a straight face I'll never know.
Carrier heat pump installed in July 2018. I've had 3 service calls since, 2 were covered by parts and labor warranty. The 3rd one was a bad capacitor, literally a $10 part that was covered by warranty. $89 for the diagnostic (later dropped to $49), which I completely understand. The labor for the cap, however, was $224 for literally 90 seconds of work. I agreed to have a hard start kit installed, that was another $279. One would think the labor on these 2 parts (that are wired to each other) would overlap. One would be wrong. They double-dipped on the labor, probably because they couldn't charge me $100 for the capacitor that was covered by warranty. At the end of the service call, I was out nearly $600. They're very responsive and show up quickly, but the prices are outrageous. The Sales Manager offered $50 refund, we negotiated to $75 and a free seasonal tune-up. Everybody was courteous and professional, but I wouldn't recommend them. I'm kinda stuck since I bought the unit from them, but I think I might find another service provider for any future visits.
I had an appointment with them yesterday 9/21/20 on my day off work. They were to arrive between 12-8 for 2 gas heat units - annual service. They called after 4pm that day to see if they could reschedule for the following day again 12-8 . Luckily I was available the following day also. The service tech comes out at12:15 pm on 9/22/20. He is literally here no more than 20 MINUTES to service 2 gas heat units. I will no longer be using this company.
Called Brothers to repair system that needed a new copacitor and or fan motor in attick. Was told by repairman that capacitor would cost $200 plus $100 to install, I ended up bying for $4 and having it replaced in 15 minutes! And he quoted $800 for labor and parts for fan motor! So over $1100 and then he proceded to tell me that he was also a realtor and I HAD to replace my whole system if I wanted to sell my condo! What B.S.! Thank god my brother in law is a licensed heating and air guy! I was very hot for 8 days till he got home from atrip but the total fix was less than $500 with labor, Im not to cheap to pay him for his time at a fair wage!
