My hot water heater broke on New Years Eve. Brothers is a contractor for Home Depot, so when I called Home Depot, they referred me to Brothers. The person I got in touch with said they were basically closed and would only come out to give an estimate after New Years (1/2). I called on 1/2 to arrange an appointment, since they were close on New Years Day. An appointment was scheduled for the afternoon of 1/2. I receive a call around 5pm that they weren't going to be able to make it out, after I waited for them for half a day. They rescheduled to come on the morning of 1/3. The plumber showed up, assessed it and showed me a price to replace the hot water heater the same day. I agreed and rearranged my schedule to accommodate an installation in the afternoon at 1PM. By 5PM, no one had shown up and I was told it may slip to the following day. Seriously? I literally wasted 1.5 days being jerked around by their """"customer service"""". Finally, the installers came on the morning of the 4th. The installation job was done well and professionally and I appreciate the effort done by the actual workers. My advice, their service is fine, but don't be surprised if you get screwed by their scheduling staff and customer service. They can't manage a calendar or Excel sheet, or they are too dumb to realize that over-promising and under-delivering does not make happy customers. If you look at the other reviews, you will see similar feedback. I called their customer service office to complain that I literally wasted 1.5 days and paid them a price to which I did no receive delivery. I could have gone with another firm in the time I wasted with these guys for $200 less. They said they would call me back and never did. Again, top notch customer service top to bottom... NOT.

They installed overpriced HVAC unit in March 2014. It broke in feb 2017. No heat. Had to pay for someone to come look at it and he misdiagnosed the problem with the drain trap. Woke up to no heat on the coldest day of the year. Brothers refused to come out for 2.5 days because we didn't have an expensive contract. Called another company and they came out and fixed the problem for $200.00. Tech said that the unit was installed improperly by Brothers. The pipe in the attic was not insulated properly (at all) and it froze. The plug (diffuser) was not installed. It was completely missing. The drain trap was installed incorrectly as well. After repeated calls, texts, and e-mails to Brothers with supporting documentation they refuse to admit fault or refund any portion of repair costs. I will never use them again for anything and i would recommend no one does. You will regret it in a short time. After they sell you an expensive system they could not care less about customer service. Keep in mind. 1200 sq. ft. house, $6200 system, heat broke twice in less than 4 yrs, still paying off loan. They don't care. They are a huge company who screws the little people. BEWARE!

My 86 yr old mother purchased a unit from Brothers a yr and a half ago and yesterday she woke up and didn't have any heat - it was 9 degrees. They were very prompt in coming out and told her that a fuse was blown and it would cost $90 so she paid them. Well that didn't fix the problem. Upon further investigation, they found that the control board was bad and needed to be replaced to the tune of $400. She has a 1.5 yr old unit with a bad control board? Really? She's 86 yrs old with health issues, on a fixed income and I feel that they are doing nothing but robbing and taking advantage of the elderly! When I called and talked with Jason, one of the supervisors, he told me their hourly labor rate is $350/hr. WOW! I want a job there - I could work a few hours a week and still come out to the good, that's absolutely ridiculous! I sure hope anyone reading this will strongly consider another vendor before using them - I'm probably going to file a BBB complaint for price gouging of the elderly on this one - I'm amazed that these people can sleep at night. I suppose someone has to pay for their """"smiling commercials""""!

Our furnace stopped working in the middle of the night. We called for service, and a """"repair"""" person came out. He looked at the furnace (which was only 13 years old) and told us it was full of rust and that we needed a new furnace. He even suggested that we not get another Carrier, but an Amana. Then someone else came out to give us an estimate of the cost. Despite that I had a lot of information about the cost of the unit they recommended and normal installation fees, their price was more than $1200 higher. I decided to get a second opinion from Sears. They told me (after looking at the furnace) that there was nothing in particular wrong, the furnace may have been acting weird because our settings weren't accurate, and that we definitely did not need a new furnace (no rust). They didn't even charge us to come out and look. I am cancelling the charge from Brothers for someone to come out. They are liars, so beware.

Brothers Air & Heat Inc. installed Rheem cooling and heating two systems in my house at the end of March 2017. Today is January 2, 2018 and both systems were down with no heat since last night. This morning I cannot wait until 8AM and called Brothers to report the problem and asked someone to come and repair. It is 9:30PM and someone came in and he looked at it and he told me that the problem was the pipe outside was frozen and it needs to remove but I will have to pay since it is not covered. I told him that the pipe outside was installed by brothers and is part of the warranty. He did not believe me and he left.

By radio adds, I thought Brothers sounded like a company to trust. Requested their semi-annual inspection. Heating and air have been working great. John Boykin told me that we needed a surge protector at a cost of $288. I asked why when we have never had one or been suggested to, ever. He insisted it was essential since power surges can destroy furnaces. I told him I needed to research before making that investment. He then said we had an oil leak at the motor and that replacing the motor and a new mount, since the current one would need cutting, was very important since we did not want to have a fire. I asked how we could have an oil leak on a gas furnace. He said it was leaking from the motor. He gave a quote, in writing thank God, that added up to $1,511; $850 for the motor, $188 for a bracket, $189 to remove blower wheel and clean it, $284 for the surge protector. He added that there was no guarantee that the heat exchanger, on our gas furnace, would go out next year and that we might want to have a rep come out to give us a quote on replacing our 10 year old furnace. When I got home from work I went to the attic to check it all out. Took the covers off. No oil anywhere. No oil around the motor bearing. No vibration anywhere. Next I called a HVAC inspector and owner of a HVAC company, who came out to do a thorough inspection. NOTHING that John Boykin or Kimm Pembroke said, the rep who came out to give us a quote on a new furnace, was found anywhere. The furnace was in excellent condition with no maintenance needed. There was no oil, no leak, no need for a surge protector, unless we wanted to add one, much less expensive, to the outside air conditioner component. We were VERY disappointed with Brothers Heating Cooling and Plumbing, and not only would not recommend them; but until I feel these two employees are addressed, plan to make sure others are warned to not trust Brothers. I almost ALWAYS give great reviews and brag on good service, and would have loved to for Brothers, but cannot. We were charged $78.45 just to get this inspection with NO service, and have yet to receive the promised receipt by email.

Mike S. came out to the house we talked about the tankless heaters Home Depot sells he told us """"we can not and do not sell you Home Depot tanks they are crap that is why we sell only ours we have told Home Depot we will not sell their equipment"""" so he sold us a tankless hot water heater for $5490.00 and gave me a $500.00 credit leaving a balance of $4990.00 I paid $2500.00 on my credit card. The appointment was set up for 9:00am Saturday and Mike told us it would take all day. I asked him who will be here? He said """"Me, an installer, and an electrician. By 9:52am I called Mike's cell phone no answer so I call the office at 9:54am my appointment had to be changed to 11:00am without informing me. At 11:00am no one had caller nor did they show up so I call back at 11:05am she told me the technician is calling me within the next few minutes. Well 30 minuets later no call so at 11:33am I call back told her I'm done give me a refund. 15 minuets later the technician calls I told him cancel the job I'm done and I reexplained everything to him. 15 minuets later the manager calls I explained to him that Mike lied to me we did a tit for tat he gave me an additional $500.00 off and said the technicians are on their way. 1 hour and 25 minutes later they show up. We asked them for the permits and electrician was well there was no electrician, no permits, and it would take at the earliest 4 hours. I call her back and told her I want my refund by the end of business Monday y'all got your money within 24 hours so I want mine back by Monday close of business. They wanted to reschedule I laughed and said ah no way refund. Now I am in a frantic state! So I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing they couldn't help. So I called Morris Jenkins Heating and Air I spoke with Daniel and explained everything that had transpired and he had Jeff out at my house before 4:00pm. Not only was Jeff polite and respectful he played kick ball with my son while I was in a meeting! Not only did I feel at ease with Jeff from Morris Jenkins but they were $800.00 cheaper then Brothers with no discounts!!! Meanwhile I called Home Depot and talked to Kieth. I explained everything to him because Brothers Heating and Air were not going to refund my money. Kieth called me back to ensure I knew that I would have my refund Monday. Please Please Please do your homework and be very cautious about Brothers Heating and Air!

stay far away from these guys.. i dumped 12k into 2 new AC/heating units over the last 3 yrs with Brothers, and my downstairs unit has been having issues cooling after only a year.. turns out might have a leak in the condenser coil.. but they wanted to charge me 1200 to do that leak search and that wasn't a guarantee of a fix(back in May/june).. 1200 leak search on a 2-3 year old unit.. yes, i declined. got another service provider to come out early this season andboth my units had block plates on them on installation which constricts the air flow running over the coils. i was shocked that this service provider didnt charge me a dime to come inspect my system.. with Brothers air, you might as well hold out your pockets for any service call, regardless of whether they do 'work' or not.. made it through the season without any issues until now.. my 3 year old ac unit is not blowing cold air again.. so, i'm back to trying to find a reputable service provider that knows what they are doing and isn't trying to stick it to you every chance they get. brothers air, word of advice.. back up the products you sell and hire installation and service guys who know what they are doing.. instead of selling me a lemon ac unit that is 2 yrs old and blows warm air!!

I have had nothing but problems since I paid for my hvac unit.I just found out today that the warranty on my Goodman air handler has never been registered.I had to do it myself. The sixty day signup period would have expired on 9/14/2007.You can't depend on them to register your equipment.

Purchased a """"top of the line"""" HVAC system and Heating unit in 2012, because I had heard positive comments regarding the service and warranty provided by Brothers via multiple television and radio ads. Have also seen their trucks around town. Fast forward to 2017. System is 5 years old made initial call on 6/24/17 was told that compressor had failed and that the part would be ordered. Thankfully the warranty is still active - but still had to pay for the technician to drive out! It is now August 17 still no part (this has been blamed on the manufacturer of the """"top of the Line"""" model closing a plant) Had to call this morning to request that freon be added to the unit so that it will cool the house this has become a daily routine. The call center may be active 24/7 but the technicians are not. If you have a problem in the afternoon or evening they will call the following morning to schedule. Their times are imprecise. I called at 8:00 am this morning, returned call at 11:30 stating that technician was on the way, called them back @ 4:17 pm as he has yet to arrive, was placed on hold for 7 minutes and not given a definate answer. I will NEVER purchase from Brothers again.
