I have had nothing but problems since I paid for my hvac unit.I just found out today that the warranty on my Goodman air handler has never been registered.I had to do it myself. The sixty day signup period would have expired on 9/14/2007.You can't depend on them to register your equipment.

Purchased a """"top of the line"""" HVAC system and Heating unit in 2012, because I had heard positive comments regarding the service and warranty provided by Brothers via multiple television and radio ads. Have also seen their trucks around town. Fast forward to 2017. System is 5 years old made initial call on 6/24/17 was told that compressor had failed and that the part would be ordered. Thankfully the warranty is still active - but still had to pay for the technician to drive out! It is now August 17 still no part (this has been blamed on the manufacturer of the """"top of the Line"""" model closing a plant) Had to call this morning to request that freon be added to the unit so that it will cool the house this has become a daily routine. The call center may be active 24/7 but the technicians are not. If you have a problem in the afternoon or evening they will call the following morning to schedule. Their times are imprecise. I called at 8:00 am this morning, returned call at 11:30 stating that technician was on the way, called them back @ 4:17 pm as he has yet to arrive, was placed on hold for 7 minutes and not given a definate answer. I will NEVER purchase from Brothers again.

I would not recommend Brothers Air and Heating to anyone I know. First they come across as a locally owned business they are not. They are nationally owned and act like it. I had a unit less than 4 years old and it broke down after brothers installed it and worked on it yearly. I had the come out they would cover the part but labor alone was over 1400.00 I looked at the install time it's less than a 2 1/2 hour job for the evaporating coil this means they get paid 400.00 an hour plus 85.00 dollars just to drive to south Charlotte. I called several times to talk to the quality control manager and each time they said they would call me back over two weeks now no phone call back so I went with another company. I will not recommend or use brothers for any work on my house in the future.

Brothers installed our """"New"""" Lennox AC unit assuring the service and product were top of the line. Within three years our Attic has flooded due to improper drainage and we have paid over 2000.00 in labor replacing drains, compressors, drywall, etc. 15 plus services calls have been made and now they want more money to resolve the ongoing issues. Sound unbelievable? Ask Craig Bennett he has been full of apologetic emails but no solid resolution (other than pay us more, we'll patch it up).

This company is the lowest of low!!! My parents are in there 80's and have been completely taken advantage of by this group. They pay 24.00 a month for premier service, and Brothers comes out every 6 months to service HVAC systems that were purchased from Brothers just a few years ago. EVERYTIME they come out they tell my elderly parents different things are wrong with theses LESS than 3 year old systems and charge them hundreds into the thousands of dollars for repairs!! The technicians were out last week for the 6 month check up of the A/C systems and sure enough they had to have over $600 dollars worth of necessary fixes. Then less than a week later the system isn't cooling, technicians comes out, and they said there is a hole in the system and it needs over $ 1600 dollars in repair. This is the exact same thing they said last year about the upstairs system in June of 2016 and they charged them nearly a thousand dollars at that time!! This is a horrible company!!!! Shame on them for taking advantage of an elderly couple on a fixed income...shame on them for taking advantage of anyone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Heard what sounded like a leak on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Due to the holiday, no one could be scheduled until Wednesday. Plumber shows up on Wednesday, and informs me it will be $275 just to find the leak - I'm po'd, but have been without water for 4 days, so went ahead with the work. He can't hear the leak (after I turn the water on), but I can, and in spite of telling him it sounds like it's high in the wall or in the ceiling, he spends a bunch of time crawling around under the house. When he can't find anything, he tells me I'm hearing things. I pushed him to open the ceiling to check, and lo and behold, there's a leak. If I hadn't pushed, he'd have left me with a leak, and no end of mess when the ceiling gave way. He """"fixed"""" the leak, but while he was in the truck writing up the bill, another started a few inches away. He did """"fix"""" that one also, and the repairs came to $670. I just had another plumber here today, because the pipe had sprung another leak, and he had to take out the """"repairs"""" that the Brother's plumber did, and replaced the entire pipe, and soldered it (the Brother's plumber used """"shark bite"""" joints) - all for $375. Oh, and yes, I still got charged $275 for the leak that I had to find for the plumber. I will not be using Brother's again.

I can't tell you how absolutely appalled I am. First of all I have a fairly new service contract with brothers for hvac. It's suppose to come with an all points plumbing inspection although it hasn't so far. I called with a plumbing issue which in my opinion was minor. I fixed my toilet and just couldn't get from the tank up back together right so it was leaking. I had all the parts. For someone who knows what they are doing 30-40 minutes labor. The plumber from brothers, Mario, quotes me $495 minus $100 for having a contract so $395. All I need is 30-40 min labor. I mean, I just couldn't even believe it $395! I told him how disturbing this was and he said well if you call Home Depot and tell them you have a plumbing job and give them your contact info they contract with us so we will come out and do the work but at Home Depot's contracted rate. Sure as shit while he was here I called Home Depot and I get a call from brothers """"calling on behalf of Home Depot"""" 10 min later. The woman over the phone quotes me under $150. Same company! The part that bugs me is that I AM your existing customer and you are making me play games to get treated right. I told him I needed to speak with his boss because if he can't do something better the rest of my afternoon would be writing reviews on google and yelp and then canceling my hvac contract. Squeaky wheel and toilet was fixed for $125 plus tax. Indeed it did take him 32 minutes. Granted he gibby gabbed for another 20 but the actual labor 32 min. Despite them doing the job for a reasonable rate (because I made a stink) I will no longer use this company. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to be treated right! I have posted a photo of their cost sheet for your review. Needless to say hvac contract will be cancelled and I have found another plumber for future needs who said he would have charged $142 for the job but I wouldn't have to negotiate, speak with a manager and jump through hoops to get that price. BROTHERS - I CANT BELIVE YOU HAVE STAYED IN BUSINESS FOR 30 YEARS TREATING CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS! SHAME ON YOU! P.s. scroll down to the bottom of the yelp reviews and see the other 90 that aren't included in their rating. All 1 stars saying highway robbery without a gun.

One star is way too generous for this company, but there's no zero-star option... Long story short, this company is taking three days to install a water heater, and they have been significantly late every time they've come by. The job should have been started and completed two days ago, but they showed up late in the evening (only after I called because they missed their scheduled time) because my appointment somehow """"fell through the cracks"""" and then they didn't bring all of the parts to complete the job. The technician told me he would be back the following evening to complete the job. He never called or showed up the next day. I called today (now the third day) and they said the technician would be out between 1-2 pm to get the job finished. At 3 pm (an hour late) the technician called and said he would be here in one hour. It's now 5:30 and he's not here. I just called their office and they tell me the technician will be here within an hour from now. Come on! Talk about deja f*$% you. In addition to this, they're very costly, charging $1,335 for the hot water install. When I originally called for a quote, they said they had to send someone out in person to do that. When the guy showed up the next day, he looked at my old water heater for about 5 seconds and then wrote me up a quote. The infuriating thing is that he simply opened a binder with a generic amount listed in it for an installation for someone who has already purchased the new water heater (like we had). So this means they were going to charge me this generic amount all along and they just go through the song and dance of """"having to do it in person"""" so that they can get a salesman in your home. Gross. I felt so dirty after this estimate visit I wanted to take a hot shower...but I couldn't because my water heater was broken. Bottom line, I don't recommend this company to anyone and I told their plumbing manager as much. I don't say this for the sake of being self-righteously irate, either. My entire experience from start to not-even-finished-at-this-point has been absolutely poor. They don't care about their customers and they just want your money. Stay away from Brothers unless your life depends on it, and even in that case, you should probably just still stay away. Just the worst.

Had to call for a third time to try and get someone to come fix my air conditioning. First tech came on Saturday and fully admitted the wiring that was done when they installed the new AC unit was """"shotty at best"""" and he refused to fix it. It was installed 3 years ago and it was a higher end Rheam AC unit. He told me what was wrong and after a while the cost, but refused to actually fix the problem. He first said to me he didn't have the part and then to my father that the wiring needed a """"professional"""". I had throat surgery the day before and was visibly in pain. However, he told me the problem was I did not inspect the system myself when it was installed 3 years ago. I mentioned how when our other until was installed last year (by a different company) someone came to inspect the wiring. He made a comment to the effect that it was not done with their system and again, it was my fault for not going in the attic and knowing electrical. He said someone would come on Monday to look at the system. He had to turn off breakers to my attic due to the """"fire hazard"""". He charged me $95 and said basically good luck. No one came on Monday I but received a Facebook message that a supervisor would call. I explained I had throat surgery and talking is painful/difficult. No one called. I called again today to be told someone would come out and try to fix it but I would most likely be charged again. I asked why when the first guy refused to fix it, dispatcher said it was up to the tech to charge me. Again, the problem they said was that their faulty wiring job caused the problem, but after a year they are off the hook for it. The fact their actions caused the machine parts to break is irrelevant. The fact that I now have a fire hazard in my attic is up to a supervisor to determine if they """"can work with me"""" to find a resolution. Have already filed claim with BBB because the first tech stated it was their wiring installation that caused this problem, refused to fix it or address the fire concern and left, still charging me for a service call. He also left a heavy ladder in the middle of my floor and pieces of Fiberglass all over my hallway where my toddlers could get to it. My recent surgery was an """"issue"""" for him because I had difficulty speaking. He said """"maybe when my husband got home, he could handle this properly."""" He also said I """"probably want a professional to look at the furnace"""" they installed as well. However, if chose to buy a cheaper thermostat than the $330 one he said I had to use, my parts warranty would be void. If I did call another company to inspect their work, the parts warranty would be void. I said I was told my warranty that I paid extra for covered everything and he said """"no, it usually never covers the labor more than a year"""". So they charged me additionally for the warranty that already came with the unit from the manufacturer. I cannot believe this how a company would treat a young family who clearly just needed their AC fixed. Will definitely continue to escalate this problem because I can't imagine I am the first person this is happening to.

On April 9th bought Rheem hot water heater from Home Depot, picked up myself, called Home Depot about their installation provider, they referred ARS Brothers in Rock Hill, SC, called to get an estimate as to the charge, I was told by the person who called it would be $1,410(that's right one thousand four hundred and ten dollars) to replace the old one with the new one. I declined, Maybe the home office of Home Depot needs to know about this, they need to find some other installers.
