Brian was supposed to come out twice for a repair. He canceled with made-up excuses, the second time without even calling. He strung me along for a couple of weeks, wasting my time when I could have gotten another plumber. Unreliable and disrespectful!

On Feb 5, 2018, I gave Brian a $500 deposit to finish plumbing work at my home in Revere Mass. After several weeks he had not done any plumbing work so I asked for my deposit back. I have called him, sent several texts and a certified letter but he has not responded back to me. I have not received my deposit back and I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office. This guy is not an honest businessman.

25 other reviews are listed as not recommended by Yelp. I wish I read them before I hired this guy.

I hired him based on his 5 star rating. I was desperate to find a plumber to come and fix my burst water line, water everywhere in the basement, and did not notice that under his 3 positive reviews there is a gray link that says:
""25 other reviews that are not currently recommended""

This guy is the worse plumber that I could have hired. I lived in Cambridge for more than 25 years and dealt with a number of professionals fixing different things. Never had I had such a bad experience.

Based on the 25 other reviews, that he somehow managed to hide, I am not the only one with the same bad experience.

Every plumber was busy. He was available. He asked me to turn off my main water line and wait for him to show up the next morning at 7AM. He came 11 hours late, a little after 6pm. Upon arrival he announced to me that his hourly rate is higher than the one he quoted me over the phone. Not only did he overcharge me but he had a nasty attitude too. I wish I never invited this man into my house.

Still waiting for him to show up. My main water line burst and there was water everywhere. I shut down the main water line and the leak stopped but there was no water in the house. I called maybe 50 plumbers but no one could come the same day or the next morning as they were all busy dealing with other emergencies similar to mine. The temperature was below 10 degrees for days and many people had the same problem as me. I kept on calling until I found Brian. He said that he could not come the same day but he would be there the next morning at 8AM. I went to bed (without running water) but relieved that someone would be arriving at our home early in the morning to fix the issue. I woke the next morning and waited for Brian to show up at 8am. An hour later I called him and he said that he was finishing another job and I was next job on his list. I called 6 hours later and he said that he was going to be at my place within 2 hours. I called him 2 hours later and he said that he would not be able to come to my house because he was too tired and he needed some rest. He told me that I was first on his list the next morning. The next morning I waited until 8:30am and I called to check why he had not shown up yet. He told me that he was working on another job and he didn't know when he could come by my place. When I told him that my family cannot live without running water he suggested that we move to a hotel or call another plumber to come and fix it because we were to far out of his way and was too busy to come to us. Before I got a chance to finish my next sentence he hung up on me.

I understand that he was super busy like every other plumber in town but if I knew that I would have to wait for 2+ days for him to show up and then cancel on me I would have added myself on the waiting list of another plumber and by now I would have the problem fixed. We just settled in our hotel room and put myself on 3 waiting lists. I was told that someone will be available to tackle my job by tomorrow evening the latest. We shall see.

I cannot judge the quality of Brian's work since he never showed up but I can tell you that I found his behavior to be very unprofessional and very opportunistic. He ignored my calls just because I was out of his way. I never had such a bad experience with any other tradesman over the last 9 years that I owned a home and I dealt with quite a few of them.

Brian unclogged the drain and replaced my garbage disposal in less than an hour. I called at 9:00 am he was here at 11;00 after picking up the new disposal we ordered online at The Home Depot. Prices are fair and I'm happy to say we have a new plumber!

Scam. Asks for a deposit and never shows up again. He explains ""he was in hospital, his partner was sick"" and etc. and no refund. Be careful!!!!!!

I called Brian's Plumbing for a job and they came right out. They were very professional and they were able to get the parts and get the job done that day so I didn't have to go without heat and hot water. Their prices were very fair. I will be calling him again for other work.

Hired him through thumbtack. Took $900 of my money. Has not the job a returned a single penny. After months of saying he will refund me - I havent gotten a single penny back. Thumbtack deleted his account as well.

(my ethics prevent me from putting full name but you will find it in other reviews, especially the NOT RECOMENDED ones)

He may not have given me his license number but it was not hard to obtain it from the city. His license is expired as I have come to find out. (Public records)

Again, my ethics stop me from publically listing his license number here, not even sure if I am allowed, but it is public records and anyone can obtain it from the mass gov website..if you want it, go look it up...

This will help when I submit my complaint to the better business Beauro and the department of plumbing licensure..

I have collected and printed all those reviews to back up my complaints..all of them are differnet variations of the same complaint and mine is no different..you can see the pattern clear as day light...that many of us can't be making it up. We have all fallen victims to his scam.. He can't be allowed to do this to people. We all work hard for our money.... NOT HIM

You will notice at the bottom, there are three reviews that have been removed because they violated yelp rules..two of those three are by a Brian O...take a guess who that might be. I have also saved the entire history of my texts with Brian and I will be submitting those as well. I believe that backed by all these reviews and the fact that his license has expired, I stand a good chance...

I am no longer doing this because of the money..even though, I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK...this is now about principle...I was going to let it go, cut my losses and get someone else, till I read all these reviews and saw how many people he has robbed..THIS HAS TO STOP...

Ofcourse, I still have to find someone else. I don't want him anywhere near me or my home.

Let me tell you why those reviews are considered not recommended...these reviews are usually made by people who normally do not have the time or not in the habit of writing reviews...for someone like them or me, there are two reasons that will fuel us to take the time out of our busy schedule..

1 : superb results, very impressed and want to share and have others enjoy what I did and as well as support a business that displays exceptional customer service and delivers quality product..

2 : beyond disappointed,exceptionally horrid and our goal is to prevent others from falling victims of a scam or prevent them from being on the receiving end of the bad experience we went through.

Yelp likes to mainly post reviews made by serial reviewers..people who are constantly online and have the time..One time reviewers are most of the time, but not always, filed under the not recommended folder and are not posted as visibly as reviews made by people who engage in more than one or two reviews...they may not be as visible but they are still there if you look. And in no way does it mean that all the not recommended reviews are false or without merit...

For me, I will only make time when I am exceptionally pleased or horrified,,, I am in the customer service industry and this is beyond beyond horrifying..


So please read the reviews because they are true..I am another one who got scammed...I will be issuing a formal complaint ..

He is a scam. Shows up for a quote, takes deposit and no-show after that. Doesn't give the license number with excuses. Call him or text, but his explanation for no show was he'd be in hospital and his partner isn't licensed. He uses different names such as Ronin Plumbing (& Heating), Brian Ronin Plumbing (& Heating), Bryan Renaud and etc.
