So glad I decided not to tackle that shower valve myself. It was fifty years old and did not look too easy to remove once I looked at it. Erik was unable to get the parts to repair it. He had a 'functional"" fix which he was not going to charge me for, so I could seek other bids on replacing everything behind the tile. I decided to just have them do it, once he gave me a verbal ballpark on what it was going to cost. They cut the drywall behind from inside a closet and replaced my ancient fixture. It was an easy patch of the drywall after they left me with a new functional shower handle and nary a scratch upon the tile. I was pleased.
