Bragg Home Services
Company Overview
Bragg Home Services has proudly served the plumbing, heating, cooling, and duct cleaning needs of our clients in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties since 1968. We build trust and loyalty with our clients by providing timely, tailored service at a reasonable cost. Our goal is to go the extra mile, guaranteeing our customers are pleased with the work we do. Most of our employees have been part of the Bragg family for years, and many customers have a go-to technician for their plumbing needs. We are growing and have recently welcomed new staff to our team. Our employees enjoy great benefits and are well-supported, allowing them to focus entirely on your needs. We do not provide 24/7 service, ensuring each technician is well-rested and prepared to assist you when they arrive.
Our principle is that clients should be informed of the price prior to the commencement of work. We utilize ""Up-Front Pricing,"" meaning the quote you receive is the amount you will pay, with no hidden fees! We ensure you know the total price before we wrap up the service. Customers value this transparency, enabling them to plan their finances without any unexpected costs. Since our inception in 1968, we have focused on offering top-quality plumbing and heating services in Marin and Sonoma counties. Over the years, we have developed a strong following of loyal customers by providing prompt, customized service, expert skills, and transparent pricing. Having spent nearly 35 years in the home service industry, I have been married for 22 years and have four daughters aged 21, 26, 27, and 31, along with three granddaughters aged 6, 5, and 4. We value our faith, country, community, family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and all individuals alike. We have a special fondness for our Malinois, Kona, who we lovingly call Koo-Koo! Together with my family and team, we aim to serve others with the utmost dedication. Thank you for trusting us with your business.

Recommended Customer Reviews

I called Bragg to inspect a toilet issue and they did show up promptly, I'll give them that, but so does the pizza delivery guy.
The tech collected the money and hurried off to his van as if the house was on fire. Why are you in such a hurry? That's right. The job wasn't done correctly.
With the help of someone else, I fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. My call to Bragg to inform them of what happened fell on deaf ears. Then they have the common sense to send me a coupon for future service.
Expensive and unprofessional.

overcharged us big tme
2100 for a 3 hour job to install a new fauce in the shower.
they go to lunch and they charge you for it.

I wish I had read the other reviews before using this company. Be warned! I did a search specific to Occidental plumbing. They came up as an ""Occidental plumber."" They came out, gave my husband an estimate and a date was set up. They no showed. I was ready to hire someone else, but John was very apologetic and we had a deadline on the work we needed done. The workman came and announced that it would be $200 extra because we ""live out in the middle of nowhere."" If it weren't for the fact that we needed this work done fast, I would have sent them packing. So if Bragg's plumbing and heating comes up as a local plumber, be warned--they aren't. And they won't let you know until the last minute that you are going to pay extra because they aren't local. And this doesn't speak well of their business practices, in general. We won't be using them again.
The work itself was well done, so I gave them 2 instead of one stars. But the quote process was not upfront, and if they are going to list themselves as local to get more business, they shouldn't be charging more for not being local!

Do Not Use. My heater clicked off during a power outage. Called Bragg and the tech was instantly able to do a reset and it started. Should have been the end of the story but the tech insisted i need a 400.00 repair. I refused and he switched back off my furnace and left. Called stout heating and they were honest and just charged me a service call to turn it on. Bragg was the rudest company i have ever dealt with.

Avoid this company! They will charge you 3 times the reputable guys. I had them replace a part for my heater and they were only at my house for 1 hour and charged $500 for parts and labor. I got a second opinion and he said I was ripped off and that it should have cost $150. The installer was very nasty when I tried to reason with him about his inflated price. The owner was not reasonable and I believe that if you have a heater malfunction in the winter you will be taken advantage of by these rip-off artists.

I love these guys! I used them in November and was very satisfied with their response and pricing.
I needed them again to fix my water heater, and again they were responsive and set up an appointment that day (Saturday), which I subsequently had to re-schedule for Sunday (due to my personal business), and then had to cancel (again due to my personal business). They were very understanding. I called again the following Friday and they were out in an hour, and fixed the water heater that afternoon. I had an old State Select and they replaced it with a new Reem. Don't get State Select!
John was great with the scheduling and Zack was soooo nice. I trusted him completely to finish the job while I was at work. He did what he promised and cleaned up everything afterward. I didn't see a mess anywhere...just a brand new water heater....all set up and braced to the wall. All this done on a Friday so that I would have hot water over the weekend.
The charge to do this was extremely reasonable. I will most definitely call them again! The furnace is my next job.

I recently called Bragg after running across their website. I called them to clean and test my air ducts and was very pleased with their service. The technician showed up on time which is always nice he was very friendly and clean and he told me the price before they started working so I knew how much it was gonna cost. I was overall very pleased with the experience and would use them again.

Rip off!!! They charged $2,150 for a 50 gallon hot water heater replacement. No complaints about service or workmanship, just that they gouged me severely. Taking into account the time spent to do the job they charged me over $400 per hour. I called the owner to have a conversation with him about it and he didn't have the courage to talk to me on the phone. He made his manager talk to me despite my specific request to speak to him. Not how I would run my business or who I will spend my money with in the future.

I got a very good feeling about this company when I called them in the morning to schedule an appointment to look at my water heater and they gave me an exact time when they would arrive that same day. The gentleman showed up promptly and diagnosed the problem within minutes (a stripped nutt). However, he then said they had a ""minimum"" $225 charge and he had already fixed it without asking if I was prepared to pay for this. What a rip-off for literally 5 minutes of work. (Regarding the ""good feeling"" I got earlier - the guy who showed up says they are just slow at this time and it's not the norm.) I would not recommend this company or use them again.
UPDATE: Today, 5/11, I received a call from John, the owner of Bragg Plumbing and Heating, regarding my review on 2/9. I thought perhaps he was calling to make things right. When I called back to speak with him, he said he takes these reviews ""very seriously."" However, he then just proceeded to argue with me about my review and left me wondering why he had even called in the first place. I believe that how you handle a problem can make up for a poor experience, but I don't feel like any effort was made to make this right or even understand my position. Look at the other reviews on this site. I'm not the only one with something to say about how they handle complaints/problems.

I wanted trenchless sewer replacement and had lined up another company back in November to come in December. They were so backed up that they still hadn't rescheduled me by mid January. I started looking for someone else.
I saw on-line that Bragg does trenchless so I called. John was super responsive. He lined me up for work and all the permits were pulled and work was done within 10 days. Zack was the foreman on site and he called me when he ran into substandard parts that needed replacing. I wish I knew more about plumbing costs since I was quite surprised at how much more I ended up paying, but overall was super pleased with their job. My suprise might have had more to do with my lack of experience with plumbing costs, than them in particular.
Zach was really great to work with. He scheduled the inspectors and got their approval. It was a quality job and very professional. I will call Zach and John again.
