Great experience. Zach and Sean showed up within an hour of my call and did the work for less than the original estimate. They were fast friendly and nice to my dogs. I would happily use them again.

Once again I needed a plumber and I called Bragg plumbing because Zack did such a good job for me last time.
My kitchen faucet was leaking out of the base of the faucet which was causing it the flood underneath the sink. Zack showed up towards the end of the window of time, but on time none the less. He explained what was happening and why, then gave me my options to repair or replace the faucet. I went with replacing the faucet because it was getting up there in age and I wanted a new look.
Zack got what I wanted installed it correctly, and gave me a discount for being a repeat customer.
CALL BRAGG PLUMBING THERE GREAT!

Bragg Plumbing - Avoid at All Costs

Recently, the water heater in the house I rent went out and I couldn't relight the pilot. I searched the Internet for a plumber in Marin County and the first company I reached was Bragg Plumbing. I should have looked at all the terrible reviews on Yelp. My bad. I reached the owner, John, and after explaining the situation, he thought that the thermocouple might be the issue and he said that Zac was totally qualified to come out and fix the problem. He also gave me a ballpark estimate if it was indeed the thermocouple.

Zac came out and his vibe was anything but friendly. He said it would be $200 up front, which was a little higher than what John had mentioned, but not much, and when I mentioned his father's number, he claimed that I was getting a special deal, since it is usually $380 for that job. He started working and realized that he had the wrong size thermocouple, so he had to go to a hardware store to get a different one. OK. Not a big deal. Zac later mentioned that he would likely have to break the little window in order to get to the pilot light, but he later realized that didn't need to do that. When he was ready to relight the pilot, he asked me for some matches and I noticed that the ""piezo"" igniter switch that had originally been there was now gone. When I asked what happened to the piezo igniter switch, he stated that I no longer had one. When I asked how was I supposed to light the pilot the next time it goes out, he said that I would need long matches. I said that I wanted the piezo switch I had before and that I didn't want to have to use matches. He got testy with me and then said he would come back for an additional $50 and the price of the parts, costing anywhere from $20 to $65 and he would get right back to me to set up the time.

I never heard back from Zac and I left multiple messages via a receptionist and voice mails to schedule the completion of the job. I finally got John on the phone and started to explain my frustration and he got very defensive and claimed ""I haven't heard any of these messages and I'm here all the time. When did you call?"" Finally, more than 3 weeks after the initial visit, Zac called and said that I would have to pay for the part over the phone and then he would come over and install it for $50. A few days ago, Zac called from the supplier and I paid what I thought was roughly $83 for the burner assembly and the piezo switch, which was the key part of the equation for me. When Zac arrived, the piezo switch had not been accounted for, so there was an extra charge on my credit card for the switch.

Zac spent about 20 minutes installing the burner assembly and piezo switch, I paid the $50 and off he went. And I thought, OK, I'm finally done with these guys. Wrong. The next day, there was no hot water. I got as far as lighting the pilot and getting the water heater to go on, but it died after 15 seconds each time. I called Bragg and left a message that I had no hot water and I also left an online e-mail with more specifics. Yesterday, I reached John and started to explain the problem and he got really defensive again and tried to rush me through the call saying ""I've got 15 other people on the line."" He said twice, ""I need to speak to the owner of the house.""

First, I had paid for the previous repairs with a credit card and my landlady was out of town. He got me off the phone and called back a little later to ask me a couple of follow-up questions and when I started to reply, he interrupted me with ""I don't need a diagnosis."" Then, he said that he would send Shaun out, but that the whole thing was ""very mysterious.""

When Shaun arrived, he determined right away that I needed a new hot water heater, after hearing a dripping sound that he thought was condensation, probably coming through a corroded wall in the water heater. The condensation, apparently, was dripping onto the pilot light. He felt that no repair would save it. I will say that Shaun was a breath of fresh air after the attitude I had gotten from John and Zac. Then, Shaun called John, who said that he would replace the water heater for $1,800, but would give me $200 off for the thermocouple, burner assembly and piezo switch that I had already paid for, which could be reused with the new water heater.

I immediately called Driptech in Mill Valley, which has a unanimous 5-star rating on Yelp. By 7:00 pm the same day, I had a new Rheem water heater, plus an expansion tank (nobody had mentioned the need for that before) for less than what Bragg would have charged me with their ""discount."" Lemecki and his crew were highly professional and extremely nice. They were true professionals throughout the process. Not only do I have really hot water from the ""A"" setting on the gas dial, but they must have upped the water pressure in the house, because the shower is ripping. More on my experiences with Driptech in another post.

I had a main sewer backup at my home. Called them because I saw their website and they offered a free video inspection when you paid for snaking out your sewer line. The guy who answered was cordial and scheduled me for the next day. The technician arrived right on time and I told him that I had rented a power snake and cleared the blockage, but within 3 days, it was backed up again. We both agreed it was most likely tree roots invading the pipe. He brought out a power snake and within 5 min. he had cleared the blockage. I asked him if he'd run a video camera thru to see exactly what was going on. He showed me on the screen 2 spots where the tree roots were very thick and said that he wouldnt be able to clear them with a snake???? I know that there are tree root attachments and I dont do this for a living! He also could have marked the spots on my lawn where the pipe were since he did have a depth and length counter on the screen as the camera went thru. Again,.. he was puttin away his camera within 5 min. He handed me the bill and it was $400!! $200 for the snake and $200 for the ""free"" video inspection. I called the office the same day,..... no return call! I felt totally ripped off. He did mention that his company could dig up the old pipe and replace them for...... $6000! Whoa!!...Decide for yourself but they did rip me off totally

The work was competent but there was an extreme overcharge. It was an emergency and I couldn't shop it around. I felt taken advantage of.

I read some of the other reviews and was reluctant to call but I did and Chance (the technician) did a wonderful job, he was clean cut, punctual, he explained what he was doing, and Chance was very well mannered. He put booties on when he came in the house and everything. Bragg Plumbing's Heating and cooling division is top notch. I will call again and I will recommend the same technician. I didn't find their prices to be high, I found the whole experience a good one. Thank you Bragg for fixing my heater. Thank you Chance you are VERY good at your job!

I did call Bragg again -- this time after a paving contractor broke the water main to my home (at the end of the day). We turned off the water at the meter and made an appointment for the next day. Zac and Chris came out, were able to repair the break and a portion of old pipe between the break and main valve leading into the house. I especially appreciate that they could route the pipe differently -- allowing the new pavers to be more aesthetically pleasing. The were in and out in about two hours.

I'm not even going to give this business a star because it doesn't deserve one. I would be EXTREMELY careful before entering into any contacts or signed proposals with this company. They're in the business of RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!! They're overpriced, they were supposed to call before showing up and didn't, they didn't complete the work and if you have a problem the customer service is non existent. It was a Terrible experience e dealing with this company. I ended up paying them an exorbitant amount of money and still have a major problem in my bathroom.

Unprecedented GREAT service experience via technician Chance Rosario. Problem: bad water hammer, called my (former) first call plumber, too busy for days, still waiting for the call back from the second plumber, then called Bragg Plumbing on a Saturday at noon needing the fix that day. Chance was promised to us by 5 PM, he arrived, assessed the situation and stablized us for overnight. He then came back the next morning SUNDAY with a helper to deal with my PCV (Pressure Compensation Valve) as well some unexpected pipe issues. Great Price--BELOW Saturday's quote. Great Service! I definitely, with no reservations recommend this company and Chance Rosario. Bragg is now our first call plumber.

Had an emergency leak right around the holidays and was having a hard time getting a call back from a plumber. John of Bragg was the first to call back and had someone out to the sight the morning after the holiday weekend. The issue was diagnosed and repaired within a few hours. Zac B. was the plumber onsite, was prompt and forthcoming with the all the possible issues before he officially diagnosed - very thorough. Cost of the job was $500 which though may seem a little steep, was a decent trade off for the prompt response and repair to the issue.
