I visited my parents recently and they had a major problem with their drains backing up. It was awful. It's always a weekend or a holiday, it seems, when catastrophe strikes. I must have called 5 companies to help us. Luckily one of those companies was Boyd Plumbing. They were the only company that had a live person answering their phone on the weekend. I was relieved when the plumber showed up because he was very professional and took a lot of time investigating the problem. He wore covers on his shoes, was uniformed, and really polite. He took a considerable amount of time to explain to us what was causing the problem and what my parent's options were to fix it. We ended up having to replace part of the drainage system in the yard. It was a huge undertaking. They started the same day and had us up and running that night. We couldn't believe that they were able to get a crew there so quickly. We will definitely use Boyd Plumbing again!

We had a bad experience with a cheap plumber repairing a leaky pipe, only to cause another pipe to leak. We decided to call someone else and called Boyd Plumbing. Even though it was late in the afternoon they dispatched a plumber. When he arrived I showed him pictures of the leak, which was in the attic. He was very up front about what he would charge, and then explained that it was something I could probably fix myself. He gave me some terrific advice, which worked perfectly...I was able to fix the problem myself and save the cost. He was even kind enough to inspect the previous plumber's work to make sure it would hold up. All of this for no charge. Boyd Plumbing may not have made any money on this particular trip, but they did gain a customer for life. I have no plans to go anywhere else for plumbing services.

After dealing with a sub-par plumbing company I'd contacted Boyd. Bryan came out early the following morning, assessed the water hammering, found & repaired the issue. I also requested upgraded emergency stops & supply lines for my toilets. They weren't readily available but Bryan went the extra-mile by contacting a supplier; they were delivered & installed the following morning. A little pricey, but I completely understand the costs associated with running a business. I would utilize their professional services again.

I had a sink that would not run hot water. It was blocked solid. I had two other plumbers look at it and they could not fix it. Boyd's couldn't fix it either. However, they did fix it by bypassing it and putting in a new line. They did an excellent job at an excellent price.

I needed a gas line extended for an outdoor project. Michael Boyd came out and gave me a reasonable quote. I contracted him for the next day and he showed up on time. He was prepared with all the parts needed and completed the job in a timely manner. I would use him again in the future if needed.

Boyd Plumbing is an excellent company. They will really do a lot for you and will address your needs. We needed to have the plumbing on an older home that we are considering buying looked at. We called their office, their office staff couldn't be easier to deal with. They were organized and were able to schedule a time for a technician to come out fairly soon. He came out at his earliest opportunity and checked everything out. Not only were we able to talk to him and he took the time to explain everything to us in a straightforward way, but the owner also wrote a clear report of what the tech saw and also wrote up an honest and reasonable estimate of how much they would charge to make the changes and repairs. They were generous with their time, their schedule and their prices were excellent. You will not do better with anyone else. They are just a great company all around.

Shiny vans, great collateral, starched coveralls...if first impressions is all it takes to fix a plumbing problem, Boyd would be a great pick. However, it takes a lot more to get even an average rating. So what's the problem here? For starters, the person that showed up didn't actually do any diagnostics to determine whether the leak could be fixed, or if a major purchase was required. Within 5 minutes I was presented with a quote to replace our hot water tap for $1,090, upon which I asked how much was parts and how much was labor. The technician said it was not my concern, they don't break it down. I said, well, you can buy a unit at Home Depot for about $300, so at $80/hr, you are telling me it's going to take about 10 hrs to install??? He kept repeating the company line, and he left. I called Folsom plumbing, and had a brand new system installed a couple of days later for $95 plus the unit (which I bought myself brand new for $250). Boyd advertises that they are a premium plumber on Angie's list. Really!?! I don't think I'll use Angie's list in the future...

My experience with Boyd Plumbing was nothing but professional. They responded within 2 hours and were very thorough in their evaluation of my clogged sewage outlet and took appropriate. I don't know if they were the lowest price for unclogging my lines because I didn't get a second estimate but when you have leaks you do want needs to be done. Their subsequent follow up and Thank You note to me shows customer care and follow through. Would recommend them to others.

I'm glad I didn't read Yelp reviews first before hiring Boyd Plumbing because our experience was incredible! Our water heater was going out and leaking in our garage. We were heading out of town for a trip to Tahoe that weekend, and needed the water heater fixed that day. We called around and all the companies we called couldn't come on such short notice. When we called Boyd Plumbing I was pleasantly surprised that they did a free estimate (and not some sky high emergency service call rate), and they came within two hours of our call. Zeb was our plumber; he was informative, professional, and finished the job quickly. We're happy that we finally found a good plumber, and we will definitely call them for future work. Thanks again!

I called on a Saturday morning with a clog issue. The person answering the phone told me they would have a Plumber out between 10 and 12 o'clock. David, the Plumber, arrived shortly after 10. He was very pleasant and professional. Located the problem and cleared the clog. I would definitely use them again!!
