A faucet in our bathroom had a leak. An ad in the Orangevale View had an ad for Boyd Plumbing, "" an affordable Orangevale Plumber."" I called and a plumber came out in short order. Being a senior and old school I figured it probably wouldn't be that much. The young man that came was very nice and took care of the faucet asap. He went out to buy the faucet cartridge which we were told cost $78.65. The actual job didn't take that long so when we got the Bill for $ 447.00, and that was with a $50.00 discount, I was aghast. We paid and stewed ever since. It was my mistake for not asking what the cost would be. My wife called them and Lionel, from Boyds, called and resolved our complaint. He actually came to our house and apologized and explained the company policy on pricing and explaining to the customer what that cost will be. That policy was not followed. That's what a good business and a good boss will do. Not too many business will go out of their way to make things right.

Trust those who Yelp regullarly...

My home warranty company couldn't find a plumber to manage a sewage backup, so I called a few 5-Star companies here on Yelp. Sadly, everyone was booked, as it was the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend.

Boyd agreed to come out within 2-3 hours (PERFECT!). I had a preapproval for hydro-jetting the sewer line, which Boyd also has... others did not (expensive equipment). They came out, cleared the line and then pushed a camera down inside to help identify a broken pipe that may have been missed by others.

The only piece they slipped on was the request for hydrojet upon arrival. The technician they sent out did NOT have the equipment with him and had to come back.

All-in-all, my tenants were happy, and that's what's important to me as a landlord.

They were very punctual and easy to work with. They installed a new facet pipe for us and how to T-off of a different facet in another room. Instead of making us feel bad for having a weird old house they got right to making it happen and now we have a working sink in our bathroom.

Boyd Plumbing responded to a service call to flush out my septic leach lines. The two member team led by Eric Rose assessed the problem and concluded that the service wouldn't provide any real benefits. I was pleasantly surprised by their honesty. But Eric had more to offer. He called another company expert to discuss other options and to obtain another phone number I could call to help me resolve the issue. He was a breath of fresh air, professional and genuinely interested in helping me. It was one of the best service experience I have ever had. I strongly recommend Boyd P lumping for all one's plumbing needs and you won't find a more helpful and pleasant individual than Eric.

I called Boyd Plumbing at 2:45pm on July 3rd. Jeremy arrived about an hour later, and determined the problem and then had to get parts. He had to go to several suppliers to find our Kohler mixer valve. He completed the job about 7:00pm!!! Fantastic job, We will never call anyone but Boyd again

A professional, responsive company! I had Jon to check on a shower leaks through my baseboard a few weeks ago. He explained everything well and was about to start the inspection of the leak. Unfortunately i had a lunch meeting so I told Jon I would think it over. Later that afternoon when a ""5 star"" company technician came to do the same initial diagnosis, I let that technician proceed with cutting the drywall behind our shower to find the leak. Long story short, that tech did not have the technical skills or knowledge of our water valve system. He randomly cut our water lines causing more leaks. After a while, he finally stopped the leak and he said he would return next time to fix things. I called his company complaining about the poor skills and more water damage to our drywall from this tech, the person on the phone told me he never heard that type of complaints about this tech before. Since then, that company kept avoiding our multiple calls and emails. After three weeks, I had to call Boyd plumbing and asked if Jon would be willing to give a try to figure out our water valve leak problem. Not only we got an appointment the next day, Jon came out and figured out the water lines, and problems for us. He was knowledgable, professional and very patient in explaining everything to us. I regretted not having Jon to do my initial diagnosis and stopped the water leak. Now my drywall is damaged and I will have to pay for the repair. A lesson I have learned the tough way and hope everyone else would not repeat my mistake of using the so called' 5 star "" plumbing company. Those five stars reviews in Yelp are not real. How a business operates can be seen by how that business handles problems and complaints. Not responding to customers is a poor practice. Boyd plumbing stands out as far as customer service goes. Everytime when I sent an email to ask questions, I got an immediate response from them. They are kind, thorough and very professional. Thank you Boyd Plumbing and Jon for all your help! We are so grateful for your help in solving our water leak problem!

I am very happy with Boyd Plumbing. I had originally called another plumber and he was booked up for a week so he suggested Boyd. I was very pleased that he did. They were very responsive and I was able to get Sean out to my home within 4 hours of my call! He was very courteous, professional knowledgable. He fixed my clogged sink in no time. This is my second time using Boyd and I will definitely call them again. I also appreciated the fact that I received an e-mail with a bio and picture of Sean so I knew who was going to be arriving at my home.
