Boulden Brothers did a great job meeting our needs. The technician, Walt, was very professional and personable. I will definitely be calling Boulden for future needs, and highly recommend the company. Thanks!
Bob S.We had a tankless water heater installed on Friday 5-26-17 to the tune of $4200.00
The installer Carlos was wonderful. He was here about 3 hours for the job. I stayed with Carlos for most of the job from removing our old water heater to helping carry it outside to oproviding him with a saw, zip ties and towels to sop up floor from the leaky primer pump he used to empty the tank. I remained there to mop up water from going into our finished basement. The tankless heater arrived while Carlos was removing old heater. Carlos had to slide it down my basement stairs as it weighed 95 lbs. once the old heater was out of the way Carlos drilled holes in the wall to hang the tankless, ONCE again i helped Carlos lift the 95 lb tankless on to the wall. Carlos had removed the threaded gas pipe hanging in front of the heater and removed the pvc vent to the outside. He cut the existing pvc exhaust with my saw and added a flexible gas line to the existing shut off valve.. NO additional supplies needed other that 1 45 degree elbow for outside ventilation.
Carlos had a 5-6 foot length of copper delivered with tankless and used maybe 75% of it I'm guessing to connect water lines from overhead where the tankless was placed. All in all a beautiful job by carols.
Carlos cleaned up the area and collected payment told us about the charity they were asking for donations and we donated $25 bucks..
Carlos left and was putting old heater in his truck.
After he left we noticed the heater leaking water from hot water line. It was the Memorial Day weekend and it wasn't a big leak so we called and reported it.
I was curious about the $4242. We spent and went on line and did comparison cost for the same tankless same model number NAIVEN NPE-240A
I found several places that SELL them at RETAIL.. for various prices.. A retail price is the price that is posted on their sites..
AMAZON $1579.00. LIBERTY PLUMBING $1378. GAGDETSGO $1509. WHOLESALE WAREHOUSE 1443. NOTE SAME WARRNTY ON PRODUCT THAT WE GOT FROM BOULDEN BROTHERS.
So I was quite annoyed and posted a review on boulden brothers Facebook page. To that i got a response about the training of their technicians and the warranty and how they only hire qualified people to install & their competitive pricing. I'm sorry but a 3 hour install is not worth $2500. For a $1300 to $1500 item, and these ARE retail prices they are selling these NEW tankless for.
Today I got a call from one of the boulden brothers telling me that the prices i am quoting are WHOLESALE and that THEIR price are very much in line with their competitors., and that he has to have a markup of 20% or more to make money on the deal.. I understand making money but not ripping people off. I told Mr boulden that the heater hot water line is leaking and someone was coming today to fix it.. He told me he pays more than that for this item from his suppliers.. maybe he should look at other suppliers..that's not my problem as the consumer.
The technician came tightened the fitting and GUESS what the thing is still leaking.. so much for the $2500. Install from the PROFESSIONALS. SO YET AGAIN I HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE COME BACK OUT AT MY EXPENSE OF TIME FROM WORK. UNBELIEVABLE.
The tankless also came with its own shut off valves I watched as it was pulled from the carton. NO ADDITIONAL COST THE PRICE WE SAY IS WHAT YOU PAY. Sound familiar.
Well Boulden Brothers I should have stayed with HORIZON but figured i would give you guys a shot and boy was i wrong.
At the end of our phone conversation with Mr Boulden.. I still feel very much ripped off and under appreciated as a customer .

Larry B.Never again will I myself use Boulden Brothers or refer anyone else to them. I was told by one of their techs that I needed a whole new heating system because of a crack in my heat exchanger. Tried to set me up with an appointment to speak about installation and financing a new system. I cancelled the appointment and decided to have a second opinion in which I was told there was no problem with my system. I feel betrayed and will never use or refer them to anyone. Beware of these people. Tried to get a refund of my measly 59$....not a chance!!!! Never again!!!
Hired them to install interior gas lines. First appointment went well and then we had to wait for Delmarva to finish installing the exterior lines. Once that had been done I scheduled a plumber and Boulden scheduled the pressure test and meter hang. First appointment, the plumber canceled last minute so I made a second appointment and Boulden was supposed to cancel the other people. Second appointment day came and Boulden called to tell me that for some reason I wasn't on the inspector's schedule. So yet again, no progress and another day taken off for work for nothing. Third appointment, pressure test goes well, Delmarva meter hang guy comes out and tells me the pipes are installed in such a way that the meter cannot be hung. Thankfully he was able to fix it and hang the meter but it was still so frustrating. Also the quote I was given at the beginning was no where near the final cost. I'm not sure if that's their fault for not explaining or mine for not understanding.
Stephanie B.After spending more than $3600 with them over the past few months and being a club member, still waiting on a part from a July 1st service call. Unbelievable. Either it gets fixed in the next week or we end our membership and take all of our business elsewhere. Customer service is lacking as we have to continue to call. Last call has been made.
I called Boulden because I had an electrical issue following the installation of an appliance. They came out within 4 hours and walked me through everything. They were very knowledgeable and did not cost an arm and a leg. I would not hesitate to use them again for electrical needs.
Ben G.We've had two visits from Boulden Brothers so far and have no complaints. My wife dealt with the first visit and I just wrapped up with the second. Our technician, Joe, was really courteous and knowlegable. He was good at problem solving to address our issue. WE do have the contract with them, and so far, so good.
Nicole N.This was the biggest rip-off that I've ever seen. After 3 visits and money spent for a problem never corrected, they had the nerve to ask me for more money for a ""potential"" solution. Never again!....Plus, they keep trying to sell service plans & other misc. equipment vs. getting to the root of my problem....
Ya, no thanks...
Called b/c I have a clogged toilet/plumbing. Although 24hr emergency service is advertised the message was ""sorry, not today and we'll TRY to fit you in tomorrow. I'll go elsewhere.
I have been a customer of Boulden for 6 years and before they came Boulden Brothers, they were fantastic. We had the best tech, Victor, that came every time, knew or names and never pressured us into anything we didn't need. Two years ago, our AC unit went out and we purchased a new AC and furnace and opted for the second tier option. We service our unit every 6 months to keep everything in tip-top shape. After we purchased our unit, many things changed with the company. Our favorite tech quit, we got a different tech every time and each one was always new. Today, we had them out for furnace servicing and mentioned that the fan wouldn't circulate air all the time, only if the furnace or AC came on. The tech claimed that our circuit board was shot and we would need a new one at the sum of $750. On a two year old unit? And he didn't have the part to fix it today (not that we would have let him) We promptly called the service manager, Maurice, and learned that Boulden 1) doesn't care about customers, 2) doesn't care about keeping customers. They claimed that since we did not sign up for their overpriced no worries service plan that we didn't have a warranty on our unit. Please note that we did have the service plan that costs $15/month. Yes, without their more expensive servicing plan, our warrant on manufacturers warranty was void. Maurice wasn't willing to do anything to keep us as customers and passed us along to leave a message with the service manager. We have yet to hear from him. It was shocking to me that this company would not stand behind the equipment they sell. Then we called one of their competitors to get them out to verify the problem. While talking to this company, they said we should call the manufacturer to see if we had a warranty. We called Amana and they verified that we had a 10 year parts and labor warranty. Please heed the warning that Boulden does not care about customer service and lies about warranties. If you purchase a system through them and they claim that you don't have a warranty unless you buy their overpriced service plan, they are lying. Do not make the same mistake that we did by using Boulden. It is not the same company that it was in 2013.
