Our old thermostat was not functioning: we'd set it at a temperature and the actual room temperature would not reach the desired temperature. We called Boulanger and explained what was wrong. They sent two guys who installed a new thermostat and within 30 minutes they were gone. We got a 171 dollar bill. However, the new thermostat was doing the same thing. We called them back and they sent the same two people. They looked around and after awhile determined that the problem was that the filter was not in the right spot, which they should have seen and fixed during the first visit. Within a matter of days, we received another bill charging 313.16 dollars on top of what we were already billed during the first visit! We are very disappointed as this is very unfair and demonstrates poor customer service.
This is the first time using Boulanger's Plumbing and Heating ... Good, fast service. Again, thank you so much and we will be calling again. It was very comfortable, Tim was very pleasant and very respectful!!!
Great customer service! Whenever they come out they are super-efficient, polite, respectful and very friendly. They've done work at my home and my business. They always get the job done right. I would recommend them highly to anyone, any time!
made an appt for wed for a simple leak repair and since i live in a condo i asked that he park in a non-resident space. he arrived friday around noon, parked in a residents spot and when i mentioned i'd take grief he basically ignored me. i then suggested he look at the leak to verify it's from the wax ring. he declined, walked into the bathroom and proceeded to replace the wax ring, he was done 10 minutes later. since i was paying for the hour i asked him to look at a pedestal sink that was loose. one quick look and tells me there's nothing he can do, turns and heads for the door. i have to ask about billing. and then 2 hours later a neighbor shows up and complains that my plumber was in his spot.
within 2 days i notice the leak is back, less but still there. i pay the bill and send a note describing what happened and who disappointed i was.

i received back a note acknowledging that ya maybe the service was below par and to reschedule. sadly the note didn't even include the name of whoever sent it which kind of surprised me.
the rescheduled appt went well, a different plumber who actually did solve the issue, it seems the first plumber put in the wrong part.
All was good until i received a 2nd bill for even more than the first and ignored that it was to actually do the work they we're supposed to do the first time.
plumbing wise, yes, the job is done, finally and correctly (a wax ring), but i'll never use them again i have no faith in their abilities.
followup yes the bill has been credited out. tyvm
Left work early to get back for a 5pm appointment for a quote on an HVAC replacement / upgrade. They never showed for the appointment, and never called. The following morning someone replied to our message, and we were told the person coming had forgotten. He came later that day and looked at the job, and told he'd do his best to get the quote out the following morning but he'd be going on vacation after that so we may not hear until he returned. We're now coming up on 3 weeks since the appointment with no quote or communication ever received since. Can't imagine they are responsive when you really need them if they can't even get a quote emailed out. I'd choose someone else.
I own a 3 unit apartment in the 413 . I had Boulanger come out and fix a leak in my 3rd kitchen sink. They came out and fixed it . I followed up with my tenants and they confirmed the work was done and it was no longer leaking. A few months later I was in the neighborhood of my property and stopped in. The 3rd floor tenant said the 3rd floor sink was leaking again. They showed me and it was clearly leaking. I called Boulanger's and said it was leaking again. The woman I spoke, whom was very nice, said the quickest she could get someone out was a week I said okay and notified my tenants to put a pot or something to capture the water in the meantime. I did mention that this was already worked on . She said she had record of it . I asked if the work was guaranteed and she replied yes for 12 months. She assured me that I should be covered since it was the same sink with the time period. They came out a week later and fixed it again. A few days later I got a bill in the mail. I quickly called and spoke to the same person. she said it must be a mistake and she'll notify the owner and he follow up in writing. A couple days later a got a one line letter in the mail stating it was a different issue with the invoiced attached. Immediately I called back and spoke to same woman and she said that doesn't make sense, I was on vacation last week. I'll have the owner call you. I got a call from the owner. He told me it was a different leak. I said but you already fixed the leak a few months ago in the same sink. He went on to say my tenant probably but drain-o down the drain and it heated up the pipes. 1st the sink was never clogged and 2nd don't lay blame. The right thing to do would be is stand by your work. I would have compromised and paid for the parts but there was no offer. If your not going to stand by your work what is your value as a professional? I won't use them again.
We just love these guys. They are prompt, kind, and best of all-- know what they are doing. Our hot water heater died on a particularly cold day recently, and they were incredibly responsive, sending out two guys asap. They were courteous and efficient, and didn't immediately jump to replacing the whole heater, but instead made some economical repairs. Boulanger's are reliable and trustworthy, and I always recommend them to friends and family without hesitation. You can't go wrong with hiring Boulanger's for any project, big or small!
I called for a last minute job at a new house i just bought and they came right away and took care of everything and I was very amazed the bill was not as high as thought it would have been. I will call Boulanger's for all my plumbing needs.
Heat broke the day before Thanksgiving weekend. Fast, courteous crew came and had us back up and running within 24 hours. Great service!
INCOMPETENT SHYSTERS!!! Gouge customers, poor - if not deceptive - diagnostic abilities and overcharging!!! Repeat visits to fix what they failed to fix on the first two visits and charge for service calls each time! Used them in past to service rental properties & without incident so thought I was in good hands. After being a loyal customer giving them repeat business over multiple properties, they decided to take advantage of me this time and charge me for 3 service calls - within days - totaling in excess of $1200 for boiler repair, and I still have no heat. Invoice had no breakdown of parts vs. labor, etc. Rip off plus Absolutely no accountability or responsibility or guarantee of their work. HORRIBLE, DISHONEST OUTFIT & JOHN, THE OWNER, IS THE WORST ONE OF THEM ALL. Absolutely adamant and no regard for loyal customers. Used them way back in early 2000 and seem to recall they GOUGED me on the price back then too; I shouldn't have ever given them another chance. NEVER AGAIN!!! Just had a real, skilled, honest plumber in to diagnose and problem had nothing to do with what they ""fixed"" -- totally incompetent @ Boulanger!!!
