Borges to the rescue! I volunteered a sample of my water to the City of Melrose. I received a call that there was an elevated amount of lead in my water and the recommendation that I replace the lead service line on my property. Steven was quick to respond, offered a lower estimate than others and was very personable. Offered a clear and thorough explanation of the work that would be done. In a short amount of time he called to set up the date and the next day his crew completed the job. I would definitely use him and his team again if needed.

Excellent service yesterday by Borges Sewer and Drain. We had a broken sewer line, called for a few quotes, Borges was highly recommended locally and also submitted the lowest estimate. The estimate included a detailed description of what would be done, which was far more inclusive than the one other written estimate we received, and the Borges team followed thru on every detail. I much appreciated that the Borges team found a way to reroute the sewer line exit from our house which allowed the concrete steps to the front porch to be left in place; removing them would have been a huge job. The team moved the large plants I was not able to myself and replanted them when finished. The estimator noted that the shut-off valve to the water line in our basement had seized, so of course I asked them to add replacement of that valve while they were working in the basement to access the sewer line. Cleanup was perfect!! And I appreciated the ""pay in cash"" discount. THANK YOU, BORGES TEAM!!

The sewer drain line from my house to the street was clogged and had overflowed multiple times. I contracted Borges, who quoted $12,000 for a 1-day job without assurance that he could solve the problem in 1 day because of the unknowns, and the disclaimer that it could cost more, demanding a 50% deposit upfront. Notwithstanding the steep price tag and unreasonable terms, I accepted and signed the Borges contract due to the pressure I felt having a clogged drain line that Drain Doctor had failed to unclog the day before. The next day I sent Borges an email with a list of questions alerting him to read it by TXT MSG, and when Borges finally called me, he not only had not read my email but was unwilling to take the time to do so, declaring ""I don't have the time to read emails!"" My insistence that he read my email led Borges to declare that he no longer wanted to do my job, accusing me of changing the contract as a result of the questions I was asking! When I reminded him that he had signed a contract, he replied ""Read it closely; it is only an 'Estimate,' not a contract."" I insisted in him honoring his contract; he consulted his attorney and notified me that his attorney advised to him that my email ""invalidated the contract."" Steven Borges was rude and used intimidating language -- in short, he behaved as a bully -- further telling me that from the moment he met me he was apprehensive of taking me as a customer because I am an engineer and ""engineers believe they know everything."" In the end, I was glad Borges withdrew from the job as I lost complete confidence in my ability to work with him, essential in a job with so much uncertainty. My advice: AVOID BORGES!! There are many other reputable drain layers.

I ended up hiring E. B. Rotundi. The reason I selected E. B. Rotondi is that Mike Rotondi, who runs the company, presented a clear, no-nonsense approach to the solution of the problem without resorting to hyperbole or pressure tactics. Mike was the only contractor to present a quote with a clear disclosure of the unknowns that made a fixed-price quote unsound. In a nutshell Mike's quote was:
* My charge will be $4250 for the Day-1, and $4000 each day thereafter;
* the job may take me 1 day, more likely 2 days, and possibly 3 days;
* I don't know what it will take to solve your drain problem, but I will solve it.
Mike finished the job in a single (long) day, charging me a little over $5000 for the additional hours the Rotondi crew took to complete the job. I am not just a completely satisfied Rotondi customer, but feel especially fortunate for having selected Rotondi. I am grateful to Mike Rotondi and his crew for having solved my problem the way they did.

Steve and his crew were fantastic. They had to replace the drain pipe in our basement an do some rerouting of other lines to improve efficiency. I can't say enough about the their work and knowledge. After waiting 9 months for plumbers not showing up, I called Borges...and I'm glad I did. Professional, speedy, thorough, and knowledgeable. All that at a very reasonable price. After having 2 drain companies and 2 plumbers look at our drain problem and attempt to clear the drain a City worker mentioned Borges Sewer. We needed our entire drain line from the house to the street replaced. Borges came out today (on a holiday) to excavate and replace the sewer line. Once Steve came out to look at the job we knew we finally had the right people to solve our problem. They went above and beyond to make sure we could have the sewer line replaced as soon as possible. Steve is great to deal with, send me a firm price and contract within 1 hr of looking at the job. Their price was very fair and the work was done quickly. I would highly recommend them without reservation.

I was faced with a real disaster when the drain pipe running to the sewer had a blockage in the middle of a frozen winter. RotoRooter was no help. Drain Doctor got the process started and then recommended Borges for the heavy lifting. A three foot hole had to be excavated in the basement, the faulty pipe (it was a collapsed house drain) removed and a new, straight pipe installed. They did a video inspection to make sure there were no further problems down the line to the sewer. Cleanup and disinfection was also required. From the time I called them to the time the job was done was only three days. They responded quickly and did the work exactly to estimate. It turned a real nightmare into a fixed problem. Would not hesitate to call them again for a complicated problem like this.

I cannot recommend this company more highly. Our toilet started glugging when the bathtub was drained, then part of the first floor flooded (the area around the drain with the lowest elevation). The plumber said we needed a drain person, the drain person couldn't find the problem using the camera on the end of the snake gizmo. 5 people then suggested we contact Borges. Borges knew immediately what the problem was - our house had a ""house trap"" that had completely clogged. They came, jack hammered up the basement, dug up the old clay pipes all the way to the sewer (all cracked), including the completely impacted house trap, replaced the clay pipes with the correct plastic ones, filled everything back in, repaired the basement, the sidewalk, and the street, cleaned up, ALL IN A SINGLE DAY for an extremely reasonable price. Our next door neighbor hired them on the spot to fix their pipe problems (two sinkholes!) and they did that entire job in a single day. My neighbor on the other side also plans to hire them - she also has a house trap and a glugging toilet. If you have a house trap, call these guys now, before you have problems.

Boy was I in a jam when the basement waterproofing company I was using broke open my main sewer pipe. What a mess! It required immediate attention. Steve Borges was there lightning fast.
