One phone call with him was a real turnoff. I had a frustrating exchange. First, he had me confused with someone else and immediately told me not to waste his time or mine by having him come over for an estimate, since I was going to request numerous estimates (he was only the second estimate I'd requested and I hadn't told him anything about other estimates). I barely had time to say two words and he jumped into this long-winded one-sided conversation with me, a person whom he thought was someone else. He was supposed to call me back a couple of days beforehand and hadn't, so I had called him to get back in touch and try to schedule a time for him to come by. I finally got him to listen and cleared that mistaken identity up, but starting off in that manner was not impressive to me. I thought that him realizing his mistake would put us on better footing, but there still seemed to be somewhat of a smarmy attitude from him. After that, he kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain to him the complications of my plumbing problem. He acted like he didn't believe or didn't think it was possible that my problem was occurring. Look, I'm not a plumber and so why should I be expected to assess my plumbing problem extremely accurately on the phone. That's why I call a professional plumber--TO COME LOOK AT IT, not make me jump through hoops on the phone. I should have simplified things and not gone into detail, because that turned into a big mess. If others think he's polite and wonderful, fine, but that was not my experience with him and I'll try elsewhere.

A few years back, I learned the hard way about why you have to cover the outside spigots with insulating caps during freezes. Turns out there was one I missed, which froze over, which broke the main water pipe going into the house. Huge bummer.

I called Union Jack about it, and he recommended Borg Plumbing to take care of it since it was a major repair. Billy's team was awesome - they came out quickly and fixed a very serious problem. It's been a while since the repair was made and I never had any more problems, so I'm confident the job was done right.

Billy Borg is a plumbing ninja - calm, clean, polite and super efficient. I've hired a LOT of plumbers over the years and would stand beside this recommendation for any of your plumbing needs. He's not the cheapest, but his flat rates and speedy crew mean that you'll be back in action before you know it.

Billy came recommended from Nick over at Union Jack Plumbing. Nick let me know that he'd had some surgery recently and couldn't trench in yards for a few more weeks. I needed a whole-house shut-off valve, a disposal, and a toilet changed.

Mr. Borg kept in contact before our appointment, was great with a change order to our job (I added the toilet exchange), showed up on time, and brought four extra guys to do the trenching down into the water main. Here's where he really shined: when they dug up my yard, they put down a plastic tarp and shoveled all the dirt onto it. Then they funneled most of it back into the hole and ASKED ME (!) where I'd like the spare dirt. It was a rainy day and not the most fun, but they got it done in under an hour.

While his guys where outside, Mr. Borg worked inside with an assistant to change out the silly builder-grade toilet that was in our house. Now, I've had plumbers forget to turn off the supply lines then flush. I've had calls of heyyyyyy do you have any spare towels. I've had water sloshed. Not the case here! I was talking with electricians in the other room and they somehow ninja-moved my old toilet out of the house with nary a peep, scratch, or spill. The new one was seated and installed before I could even notice. Works perfectly, too.

My electricians hadn't run the power yet for the disposal, so Mr. Borg said he could return in a few hours and had plenty of other work. I agreed and also left. Sure enough, I got a call a few hours later saying that he'd returned to the site, gotten the unit installed, and was pleased with the work. When I came home that night, he'd left the invoice on the counter and a cute fridge magnet. Called him later and paid with a credit card. He gave me good advice about our next upgrade, and you can sure bet that I'll call him to do the work.

I have always been very cautious about plumbers having been not only unimpressed, but cheated and disappointed in the past. I was recommended Borg Plumbing by another plumber whom I respect and have used in the past with wonderful results. The only problem being that very good plumbers tend to also be very busy and unavailable on short notice. So first thing in the morning after a night spent with a steady leak into my house from a busted water heater, I called with trepidation that Borg plumbing would even be available on short notice and on a Friday at that.

It was with complete surprise that not only did I receive a phone call back within minutes of leaving a message on the above number, but Billy was compassionate and efficient in getting an idea of how much work was involved in my job and was able to fit me into his busy schedule. And then when he had a cancellation by another customer, he fit me in earlier. Arrived with the new heater in hand, and was done within a couple of hours, including clean up time. I've since compared prices, rates, etc. with a few other plumbers recommended by others and have found his equitable with other quality professionals.

Additionally, he educated me on maintenance, necessary up to code necessities he made for my system, and overall workings on the heater. I will definitely be using him again and recommending him to others often. Thank you again Billy Borg!
