Unlike some ""big name"" plumbing companies in St Louis, Bono did not ""suggest"" we subscribe to a membership in order to get an appointment sooner, along with a 15% discount on any future service. No... Bono simply scheduled our service to be done within less than 24 hours of our call. Right on schedule Bob Bono along with Chris were at our house, bright and early. Clearly, these guys are experts in their field. They determined the source of the leak into our basement whenever one of our upstairs showers was used and, immediately, got to work on repairs. Before too long we were back in business with our shower, and no leak! Finally, their pricing was reasonable, they were friendly and courteous, and we highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Hannah B.Bob helped us replace a faulty backflow system quickly, ran the backflow test, helped us start up and test our irrigation system for the first time, and helped us with our water pressure. He answered a lot of questions, was kind, and worked efficiently. Thanks, Bob!
I had a leak on my shut off and for a 75$ part he charged me 440$ I'm a older single woman so he took advantage of this so with this being said if u have deep pockets call them but if your budgeting don't they will rob u
This company installed a new hot water heater for me in August 2020 and I should have gotten a clue then. Rather than connecting the hot water heater up as the previous unit was, the hot water recirculating system was capped off. The evening the new unit was installed my wife said it took a very long time for hot water to reach a bathtub at the other side of the house. After looking at the installation and reading up, I realized the shortcut that was taken and told the owner to come back and hookup the recirculation line. He did promptly the next day.
A little over a week ago, I called them back because of a leaking T&P valve and tripping flammable vapor sensor lockout on the water heater. For $99 plus ¼ hour labor (at $160/hour) he looked at the unit, spent time on the phone with the manufacturer to get a replacement vapor sensor (under warranty) and agreed to come out to replace the valve and T&P valve when it came in for I believe $249. After he left, I noticed the tank manufacturer's label with the model number and serial number had been ripped off the tank (see picture)! When I called him back he said he couldn't read the serial number because it was low on the tank so he removed the label and stuck it to the adjacent wall (see picture)! I could have gotten down on the floor and read it, or he could have reached down with his cell phone and taken a picture of it, or gotten the information from his office since it was on my August 2020 invoice. Also, before I called him I read in the manual (that he asked to borrow, along with pen and paper he didn't have) that a check valve needs to be installed (see picture) in the side tap return line (part of the hot water recirculating system here) or the T & P valve could open. Well, there was no check valve installed and the T&P opened and then started leaking. When I asked the owner about it on the phone he said ""well, that's not required by code"" (which must mean that's a shortcut he will take despite the manufacturer's instructions) and ""that's probably not what caused the T&P valve to trip."" Maybe he was right about that. It soon began to look like it might have been due to another problem with the installation.
Two men from another plumbing company came out a week later to address the problems. They replaced the T&P valve (the flammable vapor sensor had seemed to resolve itself) but also said the expansion tank was not pressurized to the house water pressure, which was about 55 psi. The tank however was only at 35 psi (see picture) which is apparently near what they are pre-pressurized at from the factory. Additionally, they noticed that the discharge line from the T&P value was too close to the floor (that IS code here: https://up.codes/viewer/missouri/irc-2015/chapter/28/water-heaters#28)
Did I provide my electronic signature when this was installed that the ""work was completed satisfactorily in a professional, skillful manner...""? Yes. Was I wrong? Yes!
Fixed my issue quickly on the same day and didn't overcharge me. Will definitely be using them on future plumbing jobs.
This is my 2nd experience with Bono first time was excellent probably because they replace the the entire water heater with home warranty. The second was not a great expereince, nor do they do home warranty calls. We decided to still use them since our warranty would reinburse us back. We requested a service call on Monday to diagnose our water heater. The owner advise that the thermocouple was bad and that it needed to be replaced. On Tuesday, Bono replaced the theromcouple, we had hot water for one day! On Wednesday, we no longer had hot water. So we called to see what can be done since we just paid $300 to have the thermocouple replace. They told us it was nothing they could do and referred us to another company! Keeping in mind that they have a Concrete Guarantee. After checking with other companies they told us that we should have been advised to replace the water heater instead of the thermocouple. We wasted $300 that could have went towards the water hearter, so beware.....
Bob Bono is the guy to call if you have a plumbing problem. He is prompt, efficient and will follow through if there is a problem. Pricing is extremely reasonable. We had a problem with an inspection done on our home when it went under contract and Bob came to the rescue without even charging us for his time.
He has our confidence. We'll always call Bob first for our plumbing needs.
Bruce J.I am a general Contractor. Paid Bono in full for services.
Bono plumbing contracted for services as a subcontractor for one of my customers. ON february 27 he was scheduled to complete the finishes of the fixture installation for this customer. Upon leaving the residence when his day was done, there was no hot water in one of two sinks, no hot water to the tup and the tub faucet had been installed in the wrong location.
On March 1st, Bono Plumbing returned to the site. I had already turned on the hot water to the sink. The hot water was corrected to the tub and the faucet was moved.
On March 2nd i received a picture and a note from my customer showing a water stained ceiling. My response from Bono plumbing was simply ""Maybe Ben (another plumber) has a better idea"" and refused to show up to the site and a refusal to show up to fix their mistake.
Its my job a General Contractor to make sure all my subcontractors perform up to standards and take care of my customers. I will NEVER use Bono again.
Research other plumbers before making your decision. Bono Plumbing performed a simple faucet leak in my home. After a very brief review of my faucet the owner of the company said I would need a new faucet. When I questioned that he then said he would try to repair the old one. I assumed he would let me know of the problem once determined and then give me a quote before continuing to do any work as any other home repair service has done for me in the past. He did not. He completed the job in less than one hour and then charged an exorbitant fee such that I could have had an entire new faucet, fixtures, etc., installed for the price he charged. In speaking with other industry professionals they confirmed that the price was a complete rip off. I will never choose this company for work in the future.
Bob Bono Plumbing responded quickly and provided excellent service, fair pricing, in correcting another company installation errors, on both gas fireplaces, in my home. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a trustworthy, reliable plumbing contractor.
