Eddie resolved my problem in less than hour.

I'm tiling my bathroom DIY style and the previous owners cut corners to avoid a major pluming problem.

I literally called five licensed plumbers and Eddie helped me late in the evening so I could finish what I started. The other guys were helpful, but willing to look at it the following day or next week. Eddie is one of those people that make you thankful to be part of Alameda.

He's got the know-how and tools to get it done. I'll call him first next time.

Ed previously serviced our home for a toilet problem we were having. He was helpful on the phone before coming out to our house. He was very courteous and fixed the problem quickly and cleanly.

We recently had some other issues (toilet would bubble and flush on its own at random times) with that same toilet. He was very patient with us on the phone to discuss what the problem might be.




After mentioning the city had done some work recently on the water main along our street, he gave us really helpful advice to call the city and report the problem. In the end, he did not have to come out for an appt, and the city ended up finding and fixing the problem. They literally had to dig the street again, and found some tree roots were affecting our pipes.




Having a good relationship with a reliable plumber is important. Support small businesses, like Ed's. He may have to charge a fee if he is coming out to diagnose your plumbing issues if you are located far from where he is. However, if you end up using his services, he'll apply that fee toward your charge. Fair enough. Time and gas cost money.

Ed and Beyond Plumbing replaced our sewer lateral. Because of some family related matters, it took a while to get an appointment with Ed but he did come over as promised. I didn't realize he would be contracting out the sewer lateral work to another company (beyond plumbing) but since Beyond Plumbing also had good reviews, we decided to go through with it. I am not sure if it would have been more economical to have called Beyond Plumbing in the first place. BUT Ed was helpful and got the permits and everything in order. The crew was clean (our neighbor complained to them initially about leaving dirt or concrete on their side of the yard but they cleaned it up right away) and the work passed Alameda inspection. If we have a plumbing problem, we'll call Ed.

For those who don't live in the city of Alameda and have a nonemergency plumbing job, please note this business really doesn't encourage business outside of Alameda. They have a $65 FEE for providing estimates (free if you live in Alameda by the way). So I assume they really aren't interested in developing business outside of Alameda. Good luck with that.

Our slowly draining bathroom sink turned into a totally clogged sink with a punctured trap after a failed attempt to unblock it on a Sunday night. I called Ed first thing in the morning. He responded, was able to accommodate me the same day and got the job done with no problems. He is very personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend Bonafide Plumbing to anyone.

Woke up and found that the water heater had died overnight. A complete disaster, water everywhere, it was shot. Didn't get it together to call Bonafide until maybe 10 a.m. Despite the late call, Eddie made time in his schedule that day to come out and put in a new water heater--in the crawl space, under the house. A real PITA job, but he couldn't have been more cheerful or more efficient. Price was great, it was done quickly, and we couldn't be happier.

Our water heater died and Eddie worked a Saturday to put in a new one. Price was reasonable and we are happy. I have called Eddie several other times with plumbing concerns. He always calls back and even followed up to make sure all was good. I highly recommend Bonafide Plumbing. No need to call anyone else.

I called Ed after having two other Alameda plumbers tell me that I had to re-plumb all of my gas lines to run a gas line for a new stove. Ed arrived, quickly discovered that all he had to do was run an additional few feet of gas line from the old (1940's) stove location, and quoted a very reasonable price. He completed the job quickly and neatly and I am completely thrilled. I will be calling him again to re-plumb our water lines.

Ed was a pleasure to work with. I called him the night before because my water heater finally decided to die and leak water all over my utility room. Ed came over at the expected time and went to work right away on replacing my water heater. He's very informative and detailed about this work.
