A reliable, talented plumber is a really important person to have in your life. It's a long-term relationship. I mean, hopefully everything keeps working properly and you don't have to see each other often...but you do want to know that when you REALLY need them, that person is there for you, and knows just what to do to help you out. Robert is awesome at what he does, quick to respond, and is upfront about the cost and time involved. Plumbing is one area where you do not want to mess around. If someone is charging a too-good-to-be-true price, you will NOT be happy with the results. I've made that mistake. You want someone who does high quality work and charges the right price for it, and that is Bona Fide Plumbing. Trust me: you will be happy with Robert's work. And he's a nice guy, so you'll enjoy his company...but for your sake I hope you don't have to see him that often.

I have nothing but glowing reviews for Robert. Friendly, honest, and quick to help. I've even had an occasion where he was out of town and he recommended other plumbers to me. While I never like having an emergency to call a plumber, I'm so glad that I have Robert to help me out.

Great honest guy no bullshit just quick clean affordable work they are in and out and no trace of them being there when they leave and they do not do anything half-ass and they all speak english

The owner Robert is a great guy. He makes himself available to the customer; I could text him and he would answer me within minutes. Previous to hiring him I was slighted by 2 plumbers who flaked on me after me taking the day off work. Not cool.
I was very comfortable with he and his staff. They were all polite and respected my property. They came when they said they would, they did everything we wanted done, cleaned up when they left, and we were very happy with the quality of their service. As for cost, I would say they were a little high, but you get what you pay for, and when it's plumbing you're dealing with you don't mess around. Besides, if your time is valuable to you like it is to me, Robert is your man. I will definitely call him again if I need anything, he's worth it.

Robert was recommended to me in the strongest possible terms by a neighbor, and I am just as pleased. He answered the phone both times I called; he was able to come the next day (and apologized for making me wait); and he arrived within the time frame he gave me. He was extremely considerate of my house and property, which is very important to me. He fixed the clogged drain in good order and recommended certain practices to help prevent it from clogging again (which is probably inevitable, as part of the pipe is very old). I felt very comfortable having him in my house and enjoyed talking with him. The one tip I would give other owners is to be sure to lay down a towel under the snaking machine if you have a linoleum floor; it has rubber shoes, but it jumps around, and scuffed up the finish a bit (it didn't harm the actual linoleum). But this was a minor glitch; I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Robert has done some minor work for us in the past and today he got the water heater out of our hall closet and put a brand new one outside. Yay for a new closet!
So back to Robert... His prices are fair, he's honest and doesn't try to upsell. He's knowledgable and professional, knows his stuff. Not only did he do an impeccable job on the water heater today, but I noticed a few things that are very important in a businessman. First, he treated his employee with such respect. I've had contractors at my house yelling and cursing and spitting... None of that from Robert. He was respectful and perfectly pleasant with his worker and they worked WELL TOGETHER AS A TEAM. This says a lot about a person and I would hate to do business with anyone that doesn't respect their hard workers. This guy's doing it right. Also, funny story, a dog ran into our yard while he was working and he helped me coax the dog over so we could read his tag and find the owners!
So all that said, I hope we won't need a plumber again but I know we all will; when that day comes, I will be calling Robert. He is a professional, pleasant, and kind person. He's polite and easy to work and communicate with. He does great work with great customer service. What more can anyone ask for???

Robert went above and beyond for what should have been an easy fix but turned into something complicated. My shower had a leak that pointed to the valve stem. Easy enough...right? First off, the screw was stripped so he had to drill it out. Then the valve itself was a special porcelain one that he didn't have on hand and required a trip downtown to purchase. Finally as everything seemed to be coming together, the guy who remodeled our bathroom installed the tile extra thick requiring Robert to do some fancy finagling to get it to work properly. I would highly recommend him...and he gave me some hot tips on where to get the best German food locally! Thanks!

This is a long overdue review for work we had done a few months ago. We had just bought our house, scraping together most every thing we had for a down payment. It's a great old house but has major deferred maintenance and we expected to put a lot of $$ into it to get it habitable. The plumbing work included replacing the sewer line which was chock full of roots.
Robert did a great job of helping us to prioritizing our various projects. He quoted a very fair price for the sewer line and advised which things we could put off, and which things were more cost efficient to do in the first phase of work. He really knows his stuff and is able to communicate the subject well.
I also liked how he treats his workers. We had 4 guys digging a huge trench through La Crescenta rock for several days, and we could see they really worked hard. Robert bbq'd them lunch every day and treated the day laborers as well as the skilled guys on his team with respect.
We will definitely call Bona Fide when we save up and are ready to do our next phase of renovation.

I've known this guy for over 20 years. Here's what I know: Good work and honest prices!

Robert had come to me highly recommended and did some good work at my house. When I had a major plumbing issue, he came out and said that the job would take ""this much time."" That number (and the cost) grew and grew...and grew. The job finished and I paid him about $8,000 for his work. The new sewer line worked great. Scarcely 2 months later, I had a separate plumbing issue and called Robert for a quote. He had no recollection of who I was and it took several prompts to get him to remember me at all. I guess the $8,000 I just paid him didn't mean to much to him, but it did to me. Annoyed at that, I still asked for a ballpark quote on the new job. His number was outrageous. When I asked him why so much, he barked back at me, ""hey! I've got bills to pay!"" So instead of telling everyone the story of his last great job, I now tell the story of how Robert's customers appear to mean nothing to him and do not recommend him for work anymore.
