Recommended Customer Reviews

I called to request a gas line be installed for a cooktop. The lady I spoke with told me there would be an $85 fee to come out and give me an estimate. I was a bit shocked - I'm accustomed to estimates being part of the overall cost (basically free estimate when you schedule with them.) My plumber comes and does WORK for less than that. She laughed at me - seriously -mocking me. I definitely will not schedule work with a company who allows their employees to treat a potential customer with such disdain.

First contact and technician was good. From there everything went south rapidly. The HVAC needed a new compressor. The recommendation was a replacement. As we have home warranty we needed the Tech to provide the details in order to get approval. Well, the admins at the office, who don't return voicemails, clearly stated that JR Bolton does not work with a warranty company. """"They never get paid"""". I said numerous times that I am paying and will get reimbursed (which is my problem), but needed them to provide the details. Something 'normal' as this is NO MORE for this business. I requested a call from a supervisor or manager. 4 Days later, I am still waiting... which is consistent with no response to voicemails. Very disappointing experience. Wasted $85. Meanwhile we contacted another local business, who came out, provided the warranty company with info and we have them replace the HVAC. Interestingly the cost is almost 35% under JR BOLTON's quote...,I would have never known if they didn't screw ip in the first place as you simply need to have an HVAC fixed quickly in the summer for my kids bedrooms.

We had JR Bolton come out to repair a lot of problems from another HVAC contractor that completely fouled up an install of a new system in our remodel. Jeff Bolton was able to find and correct numerous problems as well as install new gas lines and fireplace. They were very professional and did an outstanding job with great attention to detail.

16 years ago J R Bolton installed my water heater. Two days ago it went out. I called J R Bolton back and they came out same day and installed a new one! Charles and his associate were most professional and very helpful! I couldn't say enough positive. Thank you for your timing and thank you for another job well done!!!

I contacted JR Bolton regarding replacing an old fireplace front. Karis came to my home, was on time and very thorough in telling me my options. We had all kinds of issues with our current set up, from draftiness to a weird fireplace front. Karis gave me a couple of options as far as replacing the front but also suggested a different type of fireplace insert that would help our draft issues and alleviate a costly complete fireplace/chimney overhaul. We went with the Radiant Heat Insert which was installed yesterday. The technicians were on time, were very respectful of my home and were very thorough in explaining our new system. I love the new look and am excited for winter...first time we'll use our fireplace in over 12 years!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! My home's original owners used his company to install a lot of HVAC equipment. I had 2 condensers stop working in peak summer heat with babies and dogs inside, so I hoped J. R. Bolton would be trustworthy to do the repair. When the Tech Charles arrived, he diagnosed both the condenser fans as being bad, and one starting capacitor as being bad. Normally this would be a $300-$600 repair. This guy quotes me $1500, but then goes on saying that """"this is old and needs to be replaced"""", """"this unit uses old coolant, so you should replace it now""""....etc etc. gives me quotes for various things up to $20,000, when all I needed were fan motors (~$200 part). I did ask him to fix the main floor unit and figured I would cancel the other unit repair since he didn't have the motor for the other unit. I decide to hire a company in Forsyth that many of my neighbors trust whole heartedly (Allan Norris). They show me that the Bolton tech stole the motor from my unit. They quote me less than 1/3 what Charles with J.R. Bolton did and fixed everything in 30 minutes. They also pointed out that the motor the Bolton tech installed on my main floor is a weak piece of junk motor that is typically used for servicing not for permanent installs (which I confirmed). When I speak with Jenny, the J. R. Bolton office manager, she has plenty of sleazy excuses for what they did. When I ask why the tech stole my motor she tells me to """"watch what I'm saying that no one has stolen anything"""". To which I respond """"what do you call it when someone takes your property without telling you?!?!"""" She continues with excuses and never admits any wrong doing nor does she apologize for the bad experience. I explain that for all I know the motor was fine and that Charles took it to install elsewhere meanwhile selling me another motor. I demand they return the motor immediately (knowing they will return the rustiest piece of junk they can find) which he did later that evening. While sharing this experience with a coworker she becomes exasperated because J.R. Bolton just quoted then over $100,000 to install new equipment in their 3,000sq ft home....what a joke! Needless to say they didn't use Bolton and NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

The technician, Matt did in a great job relocating the air air conditioner His professionalism, work ethic and attention to detail is superior The front office people especially, Jenny is the best. She is the only reason I have stayed with A1 and J Bolton. Her customer service, patience, and understanding is unparalleled.

I was looking to convert my 1960s wood-burning fireplace to a gas insert direct-vent fireplace. After doing my research, I settled on the Mendota brand because of their quality, asthetics, efficiency, and features. I wanted something that looked like a real fire. I emailed several companies in the Atlanta metro area that carry the Mendota brand, and explained what I wanted, and included pictures and measurements of my fireplace. I was most struck by J.R. Bolton's thorough response. Karis emailed me with a thoughtful response with a detailed, itemized list of what would be involved. Not only did she give me a quote for the smaller insert I inquired about, she suggested that the larger of the two models would fit, and voluntarily provided a quote for that model as well. Other companies I contacted either didn't respond, or gave me vague answers and price ranges, making me wonder if they wanted my business or had even bothered to read my email. Not only was J.R. Bolton extremely helpful in discussing my installation wishes, they were also very price competitive, and I decided to go with them. After talking with Karis, I was also struck with the fact that she was interested in giving me cost-saving options. For example, the Mendota fireplaces come with a large selection of decorative fronts and optional doors, some of which can be quite pricey (the one I inquired about had a lot of copper and cost over $1000!!!) Karis said that we didn't even need a decorative front at all for the install ... it could be added later. That is what we decided to do, and after seeing the base front, I'm pretty happy with it, but glad to know it's an option I can add later. Karis came out and confirmed my fireplace measurements (which I'm glad she did!). She also visually inspected the chimney and suggested we consider installing a full chimney cap at some point, verses the small flue cap we currently had, as this would better protect the masonry. She offered it only as a """"someday maybe"""" suggestion and was not pressuring me to add to my bill. Two weeks later, and their install guys came out and set to work. They laid drop cloths everywhere they were going to be, and wore covers over their shoes. The install went smoothly and quickly, and were done in about 3 hours. They took the time to show me all the features of the fireplace, so that I didn't have to read the manual first. I was quite impressed, and still know how to operate all the functions! I was so impressed with J.R. Bolton from beginning to end, and will be contacting them first for future home improvement needs.

I had a AC coil leak, and Bolton did a great job. They claimed a warranty from the manufacturer that i did not know I had (10 year parts on coil replacement) even though the manufacturer attempted to escape the warranty. They are the first company that has been able to service my 2 stage dual fuel units without multiple failures. After discussing discussing problems of my current system (hot/cold rooms), it is clear that these guys know what they are doing. They can actually do load and duct calculations, unlike the morons who installed the systems.

After soliciting quotes from multiple vendors, replaced my air conditioning unit at my home recently. From quoting to installation the experience was top notch. The servicemen, Angel and Ricky, were focused, professional, helpful and efficient. They 'weathered' the scorching temperatures in my attic for hours and did not miss a beat! I would recommend J R Bolton Services to anyone interested in cost-effective solutions and above and beyond service!! Kammy
