We had a sewer backup at our late 1940's NE Seattle property, Bob Oates was the only company we found who could fix it immediately on a Saturday, a company we had never used before. We advised the technician that we have tree root issues at that home sewer line that need clearing out every one to two years. What did Bob Oates do? They removed the plug up but did not remove the problem, the roots as we had described to their technician. Our other companies we have used clear out the roots. Bob Oates charged us over $900.00 to unplug but not solve the condition by using a jet cutting system like other companies do. They billed us for nearly $1000.00 and then sent us a quote to cut the roots for an additional $1,600.00, something the other companies do the first time out. We asked why they didn't do the root cutting operation (because we told their tech what the problem is) while removing the plug. We were advised that they didn't do that because it would have cost us more money, apparently another $600.00. So they want us to pay some $2,600.00 in total instead of the $1,600.00 it would have cost us if they had done it as we mentioned about the roots the first time. Does that make sense? The last couple of times we have had this resolved, removing the plug and roots and a video to show the line cleaned, it cost us $500.00. Not Happy, not one bit!
