I have used these folks for several jobs and have been impressed with their professionalism and customer service. A couple of years ago they replaced some old copper pipes with new materials and all was well.....until a few days ago when I detected a small leak where two pipes were joined together. Fortunately, I was able to shut water off before basement flooded. We called Blue Planet and they initially said it would be 2 days before they could come out. Well, within an hour or so we got a call from one of their plumbers (Sam I think his name was) said he was on his way and be here in 20 minutes. Also got a text with a picture of Sam saying he was on his way. After evaluating and repairing the leak He said this was due to a bad fitting from their previous repair and waved all charges and apologized on behalf of the company. I was very impressed with their honesty and waving the fee. Thanks Blue Planet and I wish more businesses had that kind of integrity.

Blue Planet offers the best, most reliable, plumbing services in Asheville. After moving to the area recently and having several poor experiences with home services professionals, it has been a refreshing experience to work with this business.

We've used Blue Planet to replace our sewer line as well as replace all plumbing in our home. The team is reliable, consistent, and so easy to work with. I also appreciate that the business commits to their quotes and doesn't adjust pricing after doing the work.

A utility contractor mistakenly broke our new sewer line, and Blue Planet was extremely helpful in working with that contractor to ensure it was repaired with high quality and would still be under warranty.

I will start by saying that I don't normally do reviews! I do my research, choose a company, get a quote, hire the chosen and expect a good job. I am making an exception. I want to speak up when my expectations are met, no!! exceeded by the company that I hire. Blue Planet plumbing was outstanding. We had catastrophic freezing of our tankless water heater and related plumbing on the Christmas evening. Georg and Cameron were quick to respond...evaluate the situation...quote the needed repairs. The arrived when they said...were clean...fast and replaced the tankless and repaired all the needed plumbing. I have never had such positive results on such a negative problem. They will by our ""go to"" team for any future plumbing needs. PRICE WAS FAIR ... WORK WAS EXCELLENT... RESULTS WERE GREAT. Thank you Blue Planet team for your great work.

Frankly? It just doesn't get better than this business: from the moment we contacted them through the services that they provided and completed in a timely, thorough manner, they are THE best.

Unfortunately, in the past we have had several unpleasant and costly experiences with independent contractors: no shows, shoddy work or incomplete work, even disappearing mid-job!

That said, since moving here five years ago we have never had a more complete, professional and more customer-care service than Blue Planet Plumbing.

They have a clear and concise estimate of the work to be done before beginning; they followed up with calls and company prompted texts every step of the way; they sent pictures of the workers so we may identify them upon arrival; the workers wore name tags with pictures of them; they were thorough and immaculate in the work provided and post clean-up; they were right on budget.

We are grateful to this company and highly recommend BLUE PLANET PLUMBING for your plumbing requirements!

$$$$$$$$$$ OMG $$$$$$$$$$. Let this be your warning. If you call Blue Planet Plumbing you will either pay the $70+ trip charge or pay triple what any ethical company would charge you. We had no issues with the quality of the work done, but the pricing is another story. Due to other work going on at our house we were committed to using whatever company we called to come out to our house. Unfortunately we called Blue Planet. We moved our washing machine and needed the shutoff valves for our washer rotated 180 degrees. No new pipe, no new drains, no removing of sheetrock, nothing more than rotating the shutoff valves. They replaced the shutoff valves and washer hoses (which was unnecessary)...wait for it....wait for it....$700. One hour of work, 2 shutoff valves and 2 washer hoses...$700. WOW! If we had the luxury of time to call another plumbing company we would definitely not have used Blue Planet and will definitely not use them in the future. An independent plumber would have been in the range of $150 - $200. I knew we were hiring a company that has overhead so I thought it might be in the range of $300-$350. Unfortunately I didn't heed the warnings of the other reviewers who complained about the pricing. The owner's response is always ""we are not the cheapest company but we are not the most expensive"". That quote is highly debatable. From my experience hiring plumbers over the last 30 years Blue Planet is definitely the most expensive. The owner's other response to pricing complaints is to use the excuse that they give the customer the estimate and let them decide if they want to accept the estimate. This does NOT make the pricing ethical. Some people have no option but to take the estimate and have the work done. The owner also says that they charge by the project and not by the hour. That is because they can't justify their pricing by charging by the hour. No one would pay $700/hr for a plumber. Save yourself a lot of money and call another plumbing company.

Edit they refunded the fee

They charged a $73 dollar fee just to come to tell me it would be $2300 to install a kitchen sink. which is way above average, downright insane. if you are looking to get something installed stay away. I can't speak to the quality of the work for obvious reasons. all of the companies in the area that charge to come out and quote you are out to scam you. find an actual local plumber.

Called for water heater repair or replacement. They came out and looked at the water heater said they could repair it for $923.23, or Replace it for $2027.16. I can buy a new one for less than $500.00 at Lowes.

This review is not about the quality of work, but about the outrageous cost. I have had a water heater installed by Blue Planet plus a mixer valve (twice) and a toilet. I have always been very pleased with the quality of the work. However, I recently had two bathroom faucets replaced. I had already purchased the faucets. I was told that it would cost $389 for each faucet! Three weeks earlier I had a kitchen sink faucet installed by T.P. Howard that cost me $128. When I mentioned this and questioned why it was so much more expensive, Matthew called his service manager and came back with a price of $329 for each faucet. But, that also meant that they would guarantee their work for 30 days instead of the usual year. I went ahead with the job and ended up paying $704! The next day I called T.P. Howard and asked how much it would cost to replace a bathroom faucet. They said their service fee is $115/hour and that's what it would be charged at. Allowing a generous 2 hours for the job, I would have paid $230 plus tax. I feel that I was completely ripped off by Blue Planet. T.P. Howard has also replaced the main water line from the meter to my house and added an outdoor faucet, both at very reasonable prices. Although I have been very happy with the work done by Blue Planet, I won't be using them again at those absurd prices!

Blue Planet is very responsive and very professional. We have them replace two toilets, and both jobs were excellent. Both plumbers we saw were very nice and extremely efficient. Highly recommended!!
