This business should be AVOIDED at all cost. I recently had to replace my electric hot water heater. I had already removed the old unit, had the new unit in place, had the plumbing and electrical from the old unit disconnected and just needed two copper pipe joints soldered....NOTHING ELSE. I should have been a ten minute job for a competent plumber. The companies that service my business did not have someone available on short notice so I called Blue Mountain Plumbing. The woman said they had someone available that day, but there was a minimum charge of $89 to dispatch ""the technician"", however, if I got them to do the work, that fee would be waived. The guy shows up, looks at the two pipes and says okay, I'll get you a quote.... $435 to solder two pipe fittings.... I was astounded. I threw the guy out, but was out $89 for nothing. I'm convinced that giving outrageous quotes...for $89 each....has got to be how they earn their money. What a rip off!!! Stay away from this firm!!! I would give zero stars if that was an option.

Stay away from this company. They are extremely overpriced. I had a bad fan blower on my furnace. When they finished I found the motor they had put in only cost $208. They charged me $821 for the repair. It took the tech just one hour to install it. They said it was just a ""flat rate"" for the repair. I wish I could make $600 an hour. Pretty good living. Stay away!!!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had a blockage and I called because they had 24 hour services and it was after hours. Biggest mistake of my life. They sent someone in training by himself who busted a pipe spilling water out on all my stuff in the basement. Told me the blockage was clear and before he left. I checked not him and the blockage was still there. So after paying after hour prices they had to return the next (he brought someone with him) to fix it for it to work 2 1/2 days and wouldn't come back to look at it without charging me. Swore the blockage was in the house until I needed them to come back and then it was oh I think I felt a dip and a root. Roto rooter came and saved the day for more than 1/2 less than what I paid blue mountain. Totally recommend roto rooter. They stand by there work.

This place is a total scam. I had Blue Mountain Plumbing out today to replace a toilet flange that had a slow drip (one droplet or so a week). It was a non-emergency and I organized the visit a week in advance (i.e. this was not a middle of the night plumbing emergency). They told us about the mandatory $90 fee for any visit. Figuring I would receive, you know, a *sane* quote for services, I told them this was fine. I'd rather pay a bit more to have a professional knock it out anyway. Replacing a toilet flange involves about $30 in parts and an hour or two of time tops. I've checked these figures with other plumbers and indeed if you search YouTube, you'll find this is not a major operation. Drain the toilet, loosen some screws, remove the toilet, replace the flange ($20) and a possibly piece or two of PVC if needed ($10). They quoted me $1058.72 for this job. They wasted our time and robbed us of $90 on the way out the door for this ""quote"". My advice to those considering this company: call someone else that is actually interested in doing the work and not these guys who are just providing bogus inflated quotes in order to get your $90.

Fast, knowledgeable, fair, and friendly. My whole experience with Blue Mountain was excellent. Their team explained the entire job, gave me wonderful advice, multiple options, and answered every question I had (in language I could understand). They arrived and finished on time, and left my basement cleaner than they found it. My new furnace/heat pump/AC are working great and I could not be happier.

Although I've never posted a negative review, our interactions with Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating, Cooling - Fishersville have sadly given us reason to do so. Early in December, we had a tech come out to evaluate two always-cold rooms in our home; he seemed both courteous and thorough, and said our best solution was to go with base-board electric heating. This could be installed, he said, for about $600 in each room, or BMtn. could order a brand new product they'd made use of just once, a set-it-down-and-plug-it-in model that might be perfect for us. Curious, we asked where it would come from; he said he did not even know who the supplier was or when it might arrive - hopefully within 2 weeks. We agreed (with some naive trust, I guess) to pay $294 for this less costly alternative.
After 2 weeks, another tech delivered the unit - a cheaply-made baseboard heater which, as we discovered moments later, Home Depot sells for $76 and others ship to the consumer for $66 total. The install was, of course, to set the unit down and plug it into the wall - about 1 minute.
My wife and I talked it over and decided we really needed to give BRPH&A a call to make it right - that certainly they deserved to make a reasonable profit for ordering and delivering our product, but another $255 above the initial $69 service-consult seemed pretty steep. When we called, Shannon, who told me she is the service manager, said she ""could see where we were coming from,"" but needed to verify what I described with her service tech. After the holiday, about a week later, she called me to say that they could not adjust their price - that they would keep the full $294 for our $66 heater. She declined to tell me who owns the franchise, and that she couldn't promise they'd call me, either. At no time did I lose my temper or raise my voice, but when I told Shannon I would be sharing with my employer their decision and posting feedback as to our disappointing experience, she replied sharply that this was ""blackmail."" When I tried, calmly, to say that customers post positive or negative feedback not as blackmail, but as consumer data, she said curtly ""I don't have time for this!"" and hung up without another word. My children saw my face, which must have seemed comically surprised, and said ""Dad, did she hang up on you?"" (They did kind of enjoy that part, since it's never happened before.)
I will leave others to discern if the amount charged was a fair rate for services rendered - but I did find Shannon's behavior unprofessional and off-putting, to say the least. I do really wonder about the culture of a franchise that would behave this way. I also recommend Home Depot for plug-in baseboard heaters! Live and learn. - Dave R.
Update: after posting this review, a person purporting to be the franchise owner (but declining to give his name) threatened to sue us. Do business with Blue Mountain at your own peril, I regret to say.

My sewer line had broken and I was desperate to have it fixed in order to be able to use my toilets, showers, and washers again without everything ending up under my deck in the backyard. The Blue Mountain guy who came out gave me quotes for a half day and a full day of backhoe service, and also a quote for the actual pipe fixing. A half day for the backhoe was $625 while a full day was $1214, and the actual pipe fixing was going to be $3240. Wanting to get this fixed as soon as possible, I green-lit the job. The backhoe person showed up fifteen minutes early at 7:45am, but the Blue Mountain people were a half hour late. In the end, they charged me for the full day of backhoe service because, they explained, they start the clock when the backhoe leaves the office (7:30am), and a half-day is considered four hours, and so the clock was currently at 4 hours 45 minutes by the time he was packing up. I wish they had taken some effort to dismiss the backhoe person earlier in order to save me some $600, but they did not. We did have the backhoe person go back to the backyard to remove a slab of concrete they had found which took some extra time. The actual plumbing job they performed seemed to have been done well and correctly, but having been charged that full day for backhoe service really bothered me. The job itself seems fairly high-priced as well. If you have tons of extra cash lying around the house, then go with these guys as they will probably do a good job. I am going to try to shop around more, though, for my next plumber.

I was replacing a bathtub and called them to cut off the drain because the old drain pipe was too high for the new tub. I was doing all the rest of the work, they just needed to cut the pipe and glue on an adapter. The sent me 2 very young kids who evidently didn't listen to anything I said because they came back from the truck with an estimate for $902. He then came back and said he misunderstood what I wanted and to cut the pipe would be something like $200. At that point I refused their estimate and paid the $69 for them to come out and not listen to me. I bought the $2 adapter and cut the pipe myself. I am very annoyed with the delay they caused me and having to spend a $69 estimate fee for nothing...

I had an emergency issue on a Friday evening and no one else would answer their phone. It was right at the end of the day so I assumed I would be stuck with no heat. I was wrong. When I called, not only was someone still in the office, but the pricing and callout procedure was explained to me and I was told that the technician would be on the way. I received a call about 15 minutes later from the tech telling me that he was on the way, and he was at home 10 minutes later fixing my issue. The technician was very experienced and knew immediately what the problem was. Not only did he fix the issue, but he explained how I would be able to fix it next time if I needed to. Blue Mountain was a real life saver!
