Rinnai forwarded me to Arlos / Blue Lotus Water Technology for a service problem with my tankless heater. My heater was cutting out repeatedly causing cold water cycles in the shower, which did not please my wife. Arles couldn't get over to my house as highway 17 was closed due to a mudslide, but he walked me through troubleshooting and helped me successfully resolve the problem.

Arlos asked a series of questions and narrowed the problem down to a dip switch setting for the condensation fan and the length of the vent pipe. My general contractor missed this setting during install. Next advice was to wash the condensation tank with soap and water to clean a dirty sensor.

Finally on reassembly I figured out the drain line was air blocking the flow of water, a soft coupling fixed this.

Thanks to Arlos I fixed the water heater, probably 45 minutes on the phone in total. Expert knowledge and friendly advice, thanks Arlos.

Several years ago Arlos installed a Rinnai for us. We are quite happy with this and decided to have him install a pump for our L2L grey water system. Firstly, he never showed up the day he was scheduled to come and didn't call us. we had to call him. We re-scheduled for the following week. He was not only late, but he was also not prepared and I had to pay him to run and get parts which he said he would bring with him. He spent most of the time on our job complaining about and dissing another contractor and saying he hated working for homeowners. Why did he agree to do our job if he hates homeowners? $346.00 later, he left, the pump was installed but he did not bring the pump handle with him. After several emails and phone calls, his wife finally delivered one, but not until she made a bunch of lame excuses for why he did not deliver the handle after the job, which he promised to do in the next two days or so.

Needless to say, they included no instructions on how to attach the handle and I had to go online to figure it out. This is a guy who ""walked the Camino Santiago"" a spiritual experience but I did not get that this guy had one wit of spirituality in him and he felt more like a victim for having to work for me.

Don't use them ever and bite the bullet and find another Rinnai installer and someone else to do any of your plumbing work.

Arlos replaced the water pipes on our old building when we opened Lillian's Italian Kitchen just about 6 years ago. There were so many challenges to overcome, we were overwhelmed. With his knowledge and creativity, all the obstacles were overcome, inspections passed and we were open ahead of schedule.
The tankless water heater we installed when we opened was not big enough for our fast growing business and we neglected to do routine maintenance on it. I got a call from the restaurant on Monday morning and was informed that it finally gave out. I called Judy at 8:45 that morning and Arlos was there in less than an hour. It was beyond repair. He immediately ordered a new larger capacity system and was told due to the holiday it would not be there until Thursday. Judy offered to drive to Reno and pick it up herself. Thank goodness she didn't have to, found one in Stockton; sent overnight and installed this morning! Arlos and Judy came through for us big time.
Now that is what I call customer service.

Had this guy install a tankless water system five years ago which was a terrible experience. They took days to install, complained about other contractors on the job doing our remodel, would disappear off the job..... Thought I was done with them forever until PG and E showed up today to let me know I had a gas leak by our meter next to the house. My contractor just showed to let me know that based on the type of leak we have, it has most likely been leaking ever since Blue Lotus installed the new exterior pipes to accommodate the new water heater. I would rather pay a Plummer than have this guy back to my house again!

Just wanted to provide an update...Arlos finally came out after months of calling. Unfortunately he came unannounced and he was not able to fix it. I tried to get him to call me at work as he was leaving, but he would not call back.
He did not fix anything.

I used them at my home for a Rinaii water system. The man did a poor job of putting it in and when it broken down didn't even return my phone call to come and repair it. Rinaii has been notified. Do not use this company!
