Tony was awesome! Very professional and took the time to explain his thought process for what we needed to fix the problem.

We hired blue duck to fix and replace an ver flowing toilet which led to them also replacing our water heater. So three days *and nights* with the water turned off in the entire house. We have a couple of school aged kids so it sucked but what really sucked was that they also turned off the gas for the entire house and didn't mention that before they left so we couldn't cook or even heat up the water that we bought to make it thru however long we figured that we would be without it. Well anyway, I wouldnt even complain about any of that if it hadn't been for this: several days after they left we noticed that our spigot on the outside of the front of our house no longer worked. We figured that they must have accidentally turned the water off to it while they were working on the things they were actually there to fix so my husband called them to see when they were coming back to turn it on and they told him that since NOT removing the plumbing to our front spigot wasn't specifically written on their work order that they could not do anything about it now. Well there wasn't anything wrong with it in the first place and it wasn't anywhere near the area that they were going to be working so we never thought that we needed to specifically say that we'd like that to still be working when they were done with everything else. I mean why would we? And it's not like we were pain in the ass customers or anything like that, in fact on this $8000 job my husband actually tipped them $100 the first day they were here because he felt so bad that they had to deal with another human being's over flowing toilet. Anyway I'm writing this now because it's hot out and all of our plants in the front yard are dying because we don't have a hose or tap anymore and I guess we're not carrying enough buckets of water out there.

Blue Duck repaired and replaced a water line on a toilet. We were so impressed with their price, efficiency and friendliness we called them back to replace a bathroom sink and faucet we, were told they'd come out in a couple day, in the afternoon. I bought the faucet and sink to be installed - they showed up at the end of the work day. The job took a little over an hour to complete. The cost of this job was more than four times what other plumbers quoted (we called three other plumbers after the fact just to confirm what we suspected was an ridiculous price). I was made aware of the cost when they arrived and that, according to Blue Duck, justified overcharging us. When a supposedly trusted plumber arrives the end of the day and quotes a price that you think is excessive, it probably is. Blue violated our trust and not only did the lose a customer, they earned this review and one-star rating

Same day service, on time, explained everything they needed to check and do before starting and as they worked. A fair price for a main line clean out. Like the zip drive I got of the scope so if there's any questions, I can review it. Will definitely refer to friends.

The good: prompt and competent.
The bad: seriously over-priced. $420 for 20 minutes work.
The ugly: smirking when I complained about the bill.

We discovered a leak in our kitchen pipes (under the sink, leaking into the ceiling of the room below) at about 4:58 p.m. on a Friday night. Our former ""go to"" plumber evidently now does NOT do plumbing any more, and several ""recommended"" local and regional plumbers informed me (some of them a bit snootily) that they ""didn't do emergency or after hours work.""
Well, that was our only choice...my husband and I both had to be back at work on Monday morning, so we HAD to find someone who DID do ""emergency and after hours"" plumbing.
That's when I reached out to Blue Duck. They were very responsive and eager to help. Their rep was at our house Saturday afternoon and did a thorough ""triage"" on what needed to be done. And it was a job and a half.
Let me back up and explain - those kitchen pipes were AWFUL. Old, nasty cast iron stitched together with PVC pipe - in a bewildering configuration that leaked, clogged and backed up with frightening regularity. This spiders' web of pipes had been band-aided, patched and repatched for decades (even long before we bought this house, which was almost 20 years ago...). So it was a dire situation and no easy fix (see the before and after photos.)
But the Blue Duck master plumber didn't even bat an eye. He knew exactly what needed to be done and even suggested some improvements that should be made. It took most of the day Sunday but the new pipes and configuration are amazing. We are very, very pleased with their work and when the next plumbing emergency happens (and you know it will, and I guarantee it will happen after 5 p.m. on a Friday) they will be the first and only plumber I need to call. They're terrific!

Blue Duck, a family owned and operated business is first-rate in our multiple experiences. We've been using them for a pretty wide variety of services on our 100+ year old house. Some of that work includes some plumbing issues between the house and the main line which is in our alley (maybe 75 feet), new water outlets for our patio and garden, toilet troubles and more.
I'm aware they're a pretty big deal with a great rating on Angi (formerly Angie's List) and understand why. Unlike some providers, we feel like they're listening closely before, during and after the work. For those quick calls and immediate needs they react on a timely manner. They show up when they say they will, and call if they're going to be delayed? There's a rare occurrence in this industry.
Highly recommended, all I can add. We'll be using them in the future for sure.

Blue Duck came to our rescue in the middle of the night with hardly any notice and walked into a flooded basement and failed sump pump. They did the kind of excellent job that there's no way to rate them highly enough. To say they went above and beyond in their knowledge and professionalism would be an understatement. I recommend them for any plumbing job, big or small. They even came back a week later to make sure everything was in perfect working condition. 10/10. Best plumbing company we've ever known.

Recently, our twenty year old toilet was overflowing in our master bathroom, several times during the last two weeks. I contacted a local plumbing company whom was busy when we called and committed to return my call after completion of the job he was performing. To date, we have not heard back from him.
Today, our toilet overflowed again, during a 6-8 inch snow storm we contacted Blue Duck Plumbing. The dispatched immediately answered the phone and scheduled a appointment between 1:00 - 3:00 pm today. Philip the master plumber and his apprentice arrived ahead of schedule, provided an acceptable price quote and performed the repairs in a highly professional and efficient manner.
As a retired Construction Services Officer I appreciate contractors that perform their work like Philip. In the future all my plumbing repairs will be performed by Phillip and Blue Duck Plumbing.

I honestly can't rate their service as plumbers because they didn't show up. Twice. I scheduled a fairly benign shower repair job a few weeks ago. A couple hours after the appointment time had passed I got a call and an apology. I rescheduled for yesterday morning and again, a plumber didn't show up and I was never contacted. So I've wasted half of my day twice, waiting for their tech to show up for an appointment, and they never did. I'd recommend saving yourself the time and frustration and deal a different company.
