They came out to my office promptly and did a great job. The job was to replace a shower fixture: a Delta trim kit with single handle with tub spout and shower head. He was about 4 hours total working on the job.
The fee was $1418.26
This is exorbitant. If you do business with Blue Dot, be sure to get a price quote in advance, and compare with other companies.
The largest part of the fee was $711.00 for the rough-in.
Please be aware that Blue Dot was sold to a large corporation a few years ago. It is not the same company since then.
SCAM ALERT.
I'm a former employee of blue dot, the new owners are out to take customers money anyway they can. The sales guy are so greedy to make commissions they lie test steal to make the sale. Today a service tech Chad N. Was out to my parents house today. Blue dot once offered a "" blue agreement"" a service contract that is paid once a year and with this service you get 2 clean and checks. One for winter and one for summer. To start off it's August and just now checking my father's unit for summer. Well summers half over. Today was the second service. If my father wanted to start a new agreement he would sign up today and pay. The charges are now monthly of 14.xx. my father denied renewing. As I'm nolonger a employee of blue dot. Chad proceeded to tell my father he had to pay the 14.95. This would enter him into a new contract. Chad told my father it won't that was for today's service. Reminder today's service was already paid for. I told Chad we will not be paying and didn't want to renewal. Chad proceeded to tell us we now will be charged a full service charge and labor for the service today. Chad makes commissions every time he sales something, he as well as the other workers are so greedy to get the commissions they are scamming the customers. I was a first hand witness to a situation like this where Chad lied to a elderly couple to sell a system. Then the couple cried to me while I installed there system. They stated they couldn't afford it. But Chad told them if there system broke down during summer. Due to covid they won't get there system fixed for at least 3 weeks as we can't get parts. Dang well knowing topeka has many parts houses and available parts. Blue dot is no longer a family owned, home town trusted place. I would let these crooks even speak to me on the phone. The classes are high pressure persuasion tactics. Will try to sell you things you don't need or sell you something you already paid for. ?
Jenny H.Terrible company. I was scheduled for an 11:30 call back in October and they arrived at 12:08. I was paying someone to let them in as I was out of state and told the receptionist who took the call what my circumstances were. Spoke to Tammy who wasn't polite but said she would listen to the call. But not before she flat out told me ""they don't give timeframes"" Funny we spoke today and she admits I was given an exact time. I Figured bc of all the issues my bill would be credited and from what I recall she was letting management know, because I never received anything I figured the manager credited it. 3 months later get a 200 bill. Their excuse is they are under new management. I've always paid my bills as Ive used them before. But beware. They don't value customers here. And Tammy is extremely rude.
I have had both plumbing and HVAC services from Blue Dot and have been completely satisfied. All employees are courteous and professional. I will contact them for all future services needed and recommend them to all friends and family.
Bonnie W.Product is great. Installation was sloppy. Trim pieces too long or too short. Color match caulk could not cover all of the flaws. A leg piece on a shower panel was broken. The installer tried to fix it, but it looks terrible and is the first thing everyone sees in this expensive remodel.
A technician came out to service our heat pump/AC unit. Something went wrong with the install and our unit caught fire three days later. Our house filled with smoke. Luckily we were home to shut the unit off or we would be homeless right now. We called Blue Dot multiple times and spoke the the Manager Nate. He cussed my entire family out, told us that we should have just called 911, he told us that it's not their problem and that they won't be sending someone out to look at the unit. Now he is screening our calls. Never use this business unless you want to experience something like this. If I could give a negative star review I would. This place is terrible.
I am so disgusted with the plumbing end of this company. After having Nick speak to me with an attitude and insisting the slippery feel of the water softener was the oil on my skin, which it is not, I was so disgusted I requested no contact from this employee. As one with 60 hours of upper division biology and chemistry, I feel I understand molecules well enough that I don't need to be told how or why to filter my water. I don't want a water softener, never did, never will. All I wanted was a whole house water filtration system as the water in some areas has a moldy smell which means mold spores are getting in the water.
After feeling insulted by Nick I specifically told Blue Dot we no longer wanted any contact with him; that we would only speak with other plumbing employees other than the plumbing manager and that we did not want him in our home. Well, he called us at 8:23am and left a message. We are done. We are no longer going to have them as our plumber. We are having the water softener removed and hiring someone else to do the filtration we originally asked for. We will look into other plumbing companies and when our contract runs out, we will use the heating and cooling contractor who installed our geothermal. Such a shame, but for Nick, we would have given them a glowing recommendation.
Bluedot destroyed my front yard and when I called them I was told someone would call me back. They never did. I have tried multiple times to contact them about the damages. They don't seem to care.
Michele M.They work with my predatory landlord and issued a quote to merely wrap ductwork in my 1 BR apartment so it was THOUSANDS of dollars in excess of what it would cost to do a HOUSE! No itemization. Refused to itemize! Just gave generalized excuses....for thousands of dollars in excess. As if I wasn't going to price this out myself?
And they were asked by the predatory landlord to do a quote (again for me to pay) to install a handicap handbar - not into anything plumbing related. Just drywall. 30 minutes and not even something really they should be agreeing to. But they wanted $159. Again, no itemization and somehow it took DAYS to get that quote. Found out later that it is common practice to do it for free - even for them. Except when working with a predatory landlord?
These people are the WORST. Dishonest. Shady. Find another company that doesn't victimize people
Blue Dot are great folks to work with.
They come on schedule and offer quick services during an emergency.
Two years ago they fixed my furnace in the middle of the night when it was freezing outside.
Last year they installed a new electric water heater.
This year they adjusted the fan speed on my A/C, so it would blow cold air more efficiently and they serviced the whole system, and installed a smart thermostat.
Great folks to work with and their prices are fair as the work they do, is quite exceptionable compared to the rest.
