What a gem of a find on Yelp! I was in need of a handyman for several repairs to my home. I emailed two but one was not taking new appointments till January. Ben from BLS Carpentry & Handyman Services contacted me by email right away and scheduled the estimate. After quoting me an estimate, he went in search of the materials he needed and called me back later that day to say that he had found the siding for my carport wall and could come the next day (Saturday) to do the job. He and another guy worked on the three repairs and I was so excited with their workmanship! The pictures show before and after. Ben and his partner were very professional and cleaned up after the job was done. Ben was also very courteous and contacted me when he was going to be a little late to the estimate appointment when his earlier project took additional time; and when he was at the hardware store picking up the supplies. I also need to give a shout out to Robert Baay Painting Services who did the painting after the repairs were done. I will definitely call Ben again for future work on my house!

BLS carpentry helped me install a broken hallow wood interior bedroom door in my apartment complex and what a wonderful experience it was. The gentlemen was very friendly and told me everything he needed and the price range about that it would be about. He did not cause any issues and told me honestly everything that was wrong with the door and any adjustments he would have to make if necessary. This is the kind of service i enjoy getting and not being surprised! He was very helpful and I had found him searching for the best carpenters on the island. Would recommend to everyone!!!!

He built our redwood fence and did a great job! He showed up when he said he would and finished on time. We will totally call him up again in the future. Don't skimp and get a cheap contractor. Get one that knows his stuff and this guy does.

I called Ben to inquire about a door installation. I saw the great reviews on yelp so I was surprised at his attitude. He seemed very unfriendly and kept asking me questions about the door that I wasn't sure about. I ordered an entry door. I'm sure there are many variables but I felt like I was putting him out. Then he started mentioning that the price will go up double what he quoted me if it didn't come with something. Overall I felt like he wasn't interested in my business. Very disappointing.

I called Ben when I needed the bottom of my undersink cabinet in the kitchen replaced because it had warped from water damage. I've had a few estimates done and Ben's price was pretty reasonable. I decided to go with Ben because he had a pretty darn good review here on yelp, plus he also happened to be available to do it the same day. He did a really nice job on replacing the particle board bottom of the undersink cabinet--he even cut out the pipe areas really nicely and fitted them back and caulked all the way around. I was really happy when it was done because it looked like it was brand new (5 stars there)! One problem: Upon my final inspection of the job, I noticed two of the wood screws came protruding out the other side of the kitchen island! When I pointed it out to Ben, he felt bad about it because he had thought there would be molding on the other side. So, he spent Sunday going to Home Depot to find a matching maple molding, stain it the right shade to match my island and on Monday, Ben shows up with the molding and did a quick install/caulk. He was apologetic of the situation and offered no additional cost for the molding and the labor. I took away a star because, overall, the job turned out a bit longer than I had anticipated . However, because Ben showed me that he will do the customer right in the end (plus, my kitchen island looks even better than it did before with the additional molding!), I maintain my 4-star rating for BLS Carpentry.

BLS carpentry came to our house and successfully installed three A/C units, one In our room, one in the living room and one in the guest room. They cut all the fittings for the wood, then painted the wood to match color previously there. I must say the did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them for projects like this. Of all the companies we called to do this project BLS carpentry gave us the best estimate and best pricing.

Among the more difficult things I've had to do is to prepare a condominium in Waipahu for sale. The condo needed serious attention and I live in California. What to do? I called Ben Stewart at BLS Carpentry with my list of known repairs and upgrades needed. Ben responded quickly, gave me a preliminary estimate of the repairs on my list, informed me of other items I was not aware of and priced those as well. Less than month after he started when Ben was more than half way through the project I flew out to check on the job - impeccable professional work! Ben and I found another item or two that needed attention while I was out there and Ben priced those items and took care of them as well. The whole project was done in a very timely manner, quite helpful as I needed to get the unit on the market quickly. What I appreciated most about Ben, besides his great work, keen attention to detail, and fair pricing, is that he didn't need to be told what to do every step of the way. Once he understood what I was looking for he was able to run with the ball, so helpful since I was remote from the project. I could trust Ben to do the job right so that I could turn this condo over to a new owner in a condition that I would have wanted to receive it. That is what I got. I am very grateful to have had Ben in my corner. Honest, alert, professional, with quick response and fair pricing. You cannot find anyone better for all your home repairs and upgrades than Ben Stewart and BLS Carpentry.
