Very happy with our service today. We discovered a leak inside our wall and requested an appointment with Black Plumbing. In no time Casey had isolated the problem (burst copper pipe) and fixed it. He had to access the pipe from behind the drywall, and did an excellent job allowing for a nice clean drywall patch!
Will definitely recommend, and will use them again!

Outstanding service! They fixed a hard to find water leak, with minimal invasive damage. I was extremely impressed with the lengths they went to in order to get it fixed properly, while keeping my costs low. I was prepared to pay the original estimate, but they lowered the estimate by about 33% by the time it was done. I'll definitely use Black Plumbing again.

Black Plumbing used to be a great reputable company, but that has changed. I have used them several times in the past and they had always provided great service at a great price. I had a water heater fail recently and had to get it replaced quickly. I bought the water heater myself from Home Depot and it was in the garage next to my bad water heater, so they didn't need to move it very far. They came the next day knowing they were replacing a water heater and they only sent one guy. He came and looked at it and said he didn't have the right parts, so he'd have to go get them despite knowing what the job was. He was gone for over an hour and when he came back he said he needed help getting the new heater in, so I helped him. I told him to reuse the drip pan and power cord, so the only thing he replaced was some short
copper pipe from the wall and a ball valve. When he was done, he hands me a bill for $869 !! He charged me for 3 hours of labor even though he was gone for 1 of them, and $271 for "materials" which he refused to explain or itemize on the bill! He said "We're not the cheapest or most expensive". I estimate the cost of the materials used retails for about $80. I understand that they have to have a mark up, but that's ridiculous! I contacted the office, but they were no help and basically told me I could take my business elsewhere! I will never use Black Plumbing again for my home, business, or rent houses!...

I had used them in the past and never questioned the pricing.
Wanted two water heaters installed and got the quote of $4,985.00 which I thought was "high" but thought that protects the "unforseen" issues.
They brought to Rheem standard 50 gal heaters and charged $3200 for material, haul off, and heaters. took 2 hours. The balance of quote was for mileage, labor, drivetime. Adjusted $300 dollars off quote. Make sure they give you details of charges not just "piled" together.
Will not happen again!!

I have never had a problem with these guys, and if I did they sure would fix whatever it was. Not sure why this place gets a bad rating. They are some of the best here in Abilene and my go to for plumbing. I recommend there business and the superintendent is extremely friendly and helpful.

We have used Black Plumbing for years. They were always helpful, fair, and courteous. They have been bought out by someone in New York (I was told). The last two times we have had them out, 2 guys have arrived at our house and done the job that we requested. They were here for less than an hour for one job and 30 min. for the other. Both times we were charged for 2 hours of labor. The jobs that were done didn't require 2 people. Also, in the past if you had some little something else that you needed, they would take care of that in their visit. Now they cannot do anything beyond what you called them for, because they do not carry parts on their truck. Make another request and they will happily charge you for another 2 hour service call. Really miss the home owned Black Plumbing. Looking for a new plumber....a former customer.

My daughter called Black's Plumbing for me and they told her they charged 75 cents a mile and 150 dollars an hour,so I had her send them out.1st thing is most business charge for the mileage to get there not for mileage both ways.Anyway to make a long story short a 45 minute job cost me 420.00.So when you are talking to Black's Plumbing you better get it in writing as they do real fuzzy math.

Few years ago I had a sewer back up day after Christmas. Idiots tried going in through the roof on a mobile home before spending 3 hours unclogging via the clean out. Then put everyone with my address in collections. Almost $1,000. Avoid them at all costs.

I just now got serviced by Brian and Jesus, both with Black Plumbing. I was very impressed by the way the way they handled the job I needed to have done. They were very professional, to the point, explained what they were doing without complicating the explanation. They represented their company well. I will call on Black Plumbing again the next time I need a plumber

We had an issue with possibly our water heater. We had water leaking out on the floor in a closet, into the garage, under our freezers. Also seeping into our 1/2 bath. We called them Saturday morning, and got a lady that said she will try to call the person on call to get someone out and they will call us back. It is now over 30 hours later, and no one called. I guess they don't want our business again. 24x7 service? Not true. We will not give them our business again most likely due to this.
