Chris Gildner, the owner and operator of Black Lake Plumbing, has spent his entire life in Olympia. He began his plumbing journey in 1999 and was fortunate to learn from some of the finest plumbers in the region. He became a member of Local#26 in 2000 and finished his apprenticeship in 2005. From that point onward, he has focused on perfecting his skills and helping others become the best plumbers they can be. It became evident that there was a demand in Olympia for a plumbing service that emphasized customer care rather than maximizing profits, prompting him to create Black Lake Plumbing in 2020 to fill that gap. Now well-established, Black Lake Plumbing proudly delivers the highest standard of plumbing service in Thurston County!
As a child, my father owned a plumbing business. I treasure the moments spent with him, giving him tools and seeing the satisfaction on customers' faces after ""we"" tackled their plumbing challenges. This is what drove me to become a plumber and eventually launch my own company.

Black Lake Plumbing was very quick at scheduling a gas hot water tank replacement. The well qualified workers took about two hours to complete the job. I was charged $2635 which included a 10% tax. Cost was higher than I expected. Hot water tanks cost about $1000. Add about $1400 for two workers for two hours is really over-the-top.

I had an old, corroded drain that broke off, leaving the threads stuck in the flange. I contacted Black Lake Plumbing, and they were able to schedule me in the same day. Sean arrived at 1:30 PM and had the entire overflow assembly fixed by 2:20 PM. The work was excellent, and I genuinely appreciated their prompt service. Highly recommend!
The price was $559.00, including tax. And there you have it, kids--no need to go to law school, just become a plumber. My lawyer doesn't even make that per hour. Becoming a tradesman is where it's at. Keep up the good work Black Lake Plumbing and thanks for the help.

The good: polite, explained what they were doing, great teamwork.
The bad: wore big clunky dirty shoes in and out and upstairs multiple times. Left the rug in front of the repaired toilet soaked (needed washing) and the floor dirty (needed vacuum and mop)
Owner (?) did follow up and promised to address these issues with the service guys

Wooooowww!!
Sink wasn't draining.
Called BLP at 11:50am. Techs were at the house before noon. They were out by 12:37pm! Service was less than $400, and I can use my sink again! Both techs were super nice and respectful, as was the gentleman who took my call.
I will definitely keep them in mind for future services.

Extremely expensive, but the did adequate work and were able get us in quickly. 2 hrs of work was $1000.

When we called Black Lake Plumbing, they were quick to come out to take a look at the work. Then, it only took them a few days to get back to us with the quote.
They had a place for us in their schedule only a few days from our decision to hire them. When they came to do the work, they were personable and efficient. They had the job done in 15 minutes.

Very fast, professional, & reasonably priced. Hot water valve under kitchen sink broke OFF. Water was gushing every where. Had to use the emergency shut off to the whole house to stop the gush. Called Black Lake Plumbing. They would be out between 1 PM & 3 PM that day. They finished a prior job early & was at my house early. Installed a new METAL shut off valve under sink & changed out the plastic one on the cold water also. Checked the bathrooms to see if any plastic valves had been used. Cleaned up after themselves. (wouldn't even put their wet paper towels in my garbage can) I hope I do not have to use them again however if a problem arises they are my go plumbers. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

When you move to a different area, you want to have some numbers at your fingerips, like the number to a good plumber. And, you want to support the local privately owned businesses- people who care for the neighborhood, and who understand that their work is a reflection on their community and business. Chris at Black Lake Plumbing is the one to call, if you are in the Olympia area. He listened, provided me info on what choices I could make. I highly recommend his business.

Notified Black Lake Plumbing of a leak underneath my kitchen sink. They were able to get me in the next business day. Chris showed up on time and ready to rock. He expertly remedied the problem within 10 minutes. I highly appreciate both Chris and Blake Lake Plumbing for respecting me, my time, and my home. Quality professionals I'd recommend to my own family and friends.

I had gas installed and my brand new tankless water heater wouldn't work. I was distraught. Black Lake Plumbing showed up within 2 hours. He took a look. And just like that hot water. Not sure what magic he did but he refused to take any payment. If I am ever in need of plumbing work my business goes to Black Lake Plumbing.
