We needed a new blower fan for my 15 year old a/c furnace unit. Rick and his guys came, removed the old blower, and ordered a replacement which came the next day. They installed it and it works perfectly. Very professional and responsive service. I highly recommend!

Called with non-emergency and came that day. Said he would get the parts and get back to me. Never heard from him again. Over 2 weeks later, called about emergency of no heat in my upstairs. Left message and has still not returned my call. Let me down twice in a month.

I called Black Dog Plumbing in Dumont one morning this week because I had some trouble with the boiler. The guy that answered the phone said, he was in the area and would come right over. He came and looked at the boiler and said that it's old and he could not get parts for it, and that I would need to get a new one. He also said ""it costs $6,000, but I can work with you"". He also wanted $100 cash for the estimate.

The Black Dog website states FREE ESTIMATES

I decided to call another plumber........

Another plumber came by and looked at the boiler and said that it was in very good condition and that he could order the parts needed.

WOW!!!!!!!

Shame on you, Black Dog........thievery will get you no where.

I had a very simple plumbing job in my basement - and if I was not a senior, I might have tackled it myself. I called, described the job and made an appointment for their representative to come to my home and take care of it.
On the day of the appointment - no one showed up nor called to explain why no one came. When I called to ask about it - the representative was dismissive and told me to 'try again'...AND THEN HUNG UP THE PHONE! I could not believe it.
I found another company that did the job quickly and inexpensively.
I would recommend you pass this company up.

Had an issue with my Shower faucet & water not turning off in the shower. I called Black Dog Plumbing and Rick was at my home within the hour. He quickly knew what the problem was and informed me that I had to replace a part that he didn't have at that time. He literally jumped back into his truck and came back within 45 minutes with the part. Finalized the repair and even increased the water pressure from the shower as well. BEWARE of this company! They installed my air conditioning unit, and on our recent home inspection the inspector stated that the work resembles amateur handyman installation. Rick did not obtain proper permits and he did not install the unit according to current code. When we contacted him about this he said he no longer works in the area and it is not his problem. Horrible service and even worse is the shoddy work!
