Just before Christmas, my elderly parents' bathtub faucet started leaking. We called a plumber who explained that the leak was caused by sediment buildup in the water heater. He advised us to replace the water heater, tear down the original tile wall in the 40-year-old bathroom, and replace the pipes. He quoted a substantial amount for this extensive repair.

At the recommendation of a friend, I contacted Arthur M. Black, Inc. Kevin promptly arrived and efficiently diagnosed the issue. While he did state that the water heater is old, it is currently operating properly and is not in need of immediate replacement. He determined that the faucet is a current model and he had the parts on his truck that were needed to rebuild the faucet, quickly resolving the problem at a significantly more reasonable cost. Kevin was courteous and professional throughout the process.

I highly recommend Arthur M. Black Inc. I will definitely call Kevin for any future plumbing needs

Kevin Black was the 4th plumber to come out to look at various issues in my house. I wasn't getting hot water in one of my showers, and had the three separate companies come out under my previous homeowners warranty.
Plumber 1 said the water was hot enough. Plumber 2 agreed that it wasn't hot but couldn't fix. After he left, the shower, still without hot water, leaked. He wouldn't come back to fix. The third company guy said the 2nd company broke the faucet, so I'd need a major repair involving tearing down walls to replace the fixture and get hot water. Then Covid hit.
After we were vaccinated a year later, the 3rd company guy wouldn't call me back. Then, finally I called Kevin on the recommendation of a friend. Kevin installed a new Moen Cartidge (vs the generic one the previous plumbers had installed). Fixed everything and it was simple with no disruption. He fixed a bunch of other stuff too. After 30+ years, he seems to know his stuff and I would highly recommend.

Prompt arrival but a bit aggressive and literally only said two words. No estimate given to fix and didn't get authorization for the work. He finished the work before I realized what had happened (lack of communication from him) and demanded the bill. Used low quality parts. DO NOT recommend.

I had a pin leak in a pipe running in between a bathroom and family room. Water was on the floors, coming from under the baseboards. I called Black plumbing this morning around 9 am, he said he could help me out with the issue, and come by in the afternoon. Kevin showed up around 2 pm, and had the problem fixed in no time. Did a great job with minimal damage to the walls. I was stunned by how easy he made it look to fix that, as it was not easy to get to. A true professional!

Found Kevin through a recommendation from a local Navian distributor. I wanted to switch over to a tankless system. I told them the mess that 3 plumbing companies had made and $14k in the hole and no one could make my hot water last. I own a busy hair salon and didn't know what to do. Had a hot water heater go bad and called a few places, and got no callbacks. Called Arthur M. Black and got a returned call in an hour or so. He came over shortly thereafter and diagnosed my problem. No sales gimmicks, no upselling, just patiently answered my questions and provided honest answers. Once we came to an agreement, he was in and out in a few hours, replacing the hot water heater. Cleaned everything up and hauled the old one away. Everything I would expect from a contractor. It's refreshing to deal with real people doing honest workmanship.

I was going out of town and needed a plumber before I left so I called Black Arthur and the owner answered and said he would be there in about an hour. He actually came about 15 minutes early and corrected the problem right away. I even asked him to fix my son's sink and while he was doing that he saw a doorknob was loose and even fixed that. I was very pleased with their work and would definitly call them again.

I hate dealing with contractors. I loved working with Arthur M Black Plumbers. This is a father and son team that really know their stuff. The main water line coming into our home had a leak. The county would not fix it and said it was our responsibility because it was after the water shut off. Yes, even if it was before the meter. My home was the 6th or 7th house in the neighborhood to have this problem. I was a very irresponsible home owner and put it off for a few weeks. Well, my yard was a swamp! I had a lot of companies come out to look at it and give me an estimate over those weeks. They all gave me insane estimates and most of them even gave me referrals to other plumbing companies because it was a messy job that no one wanted to do. Kevin from Black Plumbing worked with me to get the price to something reasonable and was upfront from the beginning about the entire process. He showed up when he said he would, he handled all of the permits and inspections, he made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. He was kind to my son, patient with having to put the dog away and made things as easy on me as possible. He even had the suggestion to tie into my neighbor's waterline (with their permission of course) so, we wouldn't be without water for the day they were working on things. I would suggest, recommend, and without a doubt use this company again. I'm so relieved to have found a reliable plumber!
