This is my second time using BKS - (Brian) in the last 5 years. This first was a small leak in a basement pipe. Brian repaired it quickly and it was very inexpensive.

The second was a bigger job. I had a new water softener installed. Brian knew all the right questions to ask. He asked about which area of Waterford I was in, (Some areas have harder water than others and need a different type of system). He also was prepared with special parts. My condo was built with ""Quest:"" Pipes. They are not used anywhere anymore. Its just not a good product. But Brian was knowledgeable about it, and had the right tools and parts to handle the job.
It took under 2 hours for the full install. He cleaned up, took away the old equipment, and was very professional overall.
He also came in around $800 - $1200 lower than the other estimates I got for the job.

He was a about an hour late getting here, but I understand that previous jobs can take longer than expected. So no big deal there.

I will always call him first for any future plumbing needs I have.

Brian fixed a leaking pipe at my rental condo in Troy at Maple and Coolidge. Several months later the leak was back - I left him probably 8 to 10 messages before actually connecting with him. I spoke with him on a Monday and he said he would come check it out on Thursday... he never showed. I've subsequently left him more than a dozen messages and he refuses to return my calls or texts.

Interestingly, he does work for my parents so I enlisted my mom to talk with him and compel him to return my call. He told her his guys ""went up north"" on that particular Thursday without his knowledge. He's also told her (on several occasions) that he would reach out to me, but it's been more than a month now and no communication whatsoever. Unbelievable, particularly given that my parents are clients.

I used Brian for several years and at 2 of my different residences. This time, I couldn't get him to return my call. I called for a week and he finally answered. Then we when set up a day and time, he never responded to my calls as I was waiting and never showed up. I took the afternoon off work and never got my items repaired. A total waste of time and frustration. Poor customer service. Will never call him again.

This project was comprised of two distinct parts, the first was to complete the rough work (rerouting the gas/water pipes) and the second was to finish the hookups in association with a kitchen remodel. The first part of the work went very well. Brian came out quickly to give a reasonable quote and was responsive to phone calls. The work performed was within the agreed upon timelines and was of good quality. I paid him 2/3 of the total fees agreed to for the project.

Two months after the initial work, I scheduled an appointment for him to complete the other portion of the work (hooking up the dishwasher, fridge, oven, and garbage disposal/sink water lines). We had agreed to a date on Fri, June 27 of Thurs, July 3. I arranged to have someone at the house during our scheduled time, which was not easy. After he did not show during the scheduled time, we contacted him to reschedule and established a new appointment for Monday, July 7 between 11-1. Again took off time from work and other priorities to stay at home. Again, he did not show, did not call, and did not respond to multiple calls and voicemails left during the day and the day after. I am very disappointed in his lack of responsiveness, consistently missed appointments, and now I expect to pay more for the remaining services with another company as this was supposed to be part of the total services he provided. Unfortunately, I would not recommend BKS Plumbing for these reasons.
