Very professional company from initial phone call to service. I have used Bishop a few times, and although not the cheapest they are very professional. They inform me of the initial fee and how it is applied each time I call. I have had the same Plumber for 3 calls & he is conscience & professional.

A real rip off. Prices are 3 times more than normal. Be careful when you are asked to sign at least 3 disclaimer clauses

OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive! Quoted me $645 for changing a wax ring on my toilet (going rate for this is $175 in this area). When I declined, the plumber immediately came down to $495 within two minutes! So what was the rationale for $645 in the first place ? Then they still charged me $75 as ""non-refundable dispatch fee"". I asked them to leave, and lost my $75 dispatch fee. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL!

Highway Robbery! Charged us $1700 for four hours of work with equipment that you can rent at Home Depot for $25/hr. Union plumbers rate in the city is $85/hr. How do these guys stay in business with all the bad reviews? By taking advantage of people who haven't read them... Call someone else.

I don't understand the bad ratings. I have used bishop for years. Recently because of these stupid ratings and I'm so upset I used this ap to read these ratings, I called yesrerday another plumber, AA in Northbrook and not Bishop who I always use. I had an emergency. AA gave me a 2500$ estimate. I didn't like that at all so I asked bishop to come and they gave a 490$ estimate. I don't know why anyone gives bishop bad reviews. I think you guys who give them bad reviews just don't know anything about plumbers.

DO NOT USE BISHOP!
We first used this company to do some install work and when the pipe burst would not even answer the phone for an emergency. When they did come out (almost 20 hours later) wanted to change me $350 for diagnostic testing! After charging me $550 for two angle stops the pipe burst again 2 weeks later. My invoice clearly stated 90 day warranty but they refused to warrant their work and said they would charge their standard $79.99 fee along with all work/labor and parts. I called Dahme and they were at my house 2 hours later and did all the work I requested Bishop to do (and wouldn't)
For a very reasonable price.

I wish I would have read these reviews before I called them. $80 to come out to tell me I needed to spend another $350 to ""find"" a gas leak that I pointed out to them. that didn't even include the cost of fixing it. Steer clear of these guys.

I would give zero stars if that was possible. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! My 70 year old mother made an appointment with them to service her heat pump unit, their name is very similar to Bishop Heating. When she called she was confused when they answered Bishop plumbing and she asked about that, and they assured her that they work on heating systems too. She owns a heat pump unit which is kind of a specialized HVAC system, so she asked about that as well and she was assured that they were qualified to work on that.

The technician came out and one of the first things he said was ""Oh, you have a heat pump unit, we barely see those anymore, where'd you get that?"" At this point he quoted her $600 dollars for a diagnostic, and told her that she would be better off paying him the $79 dollars for the service call and going with another company that better equipped to handle this system. She signed the form and paid the $79, basically because she didn't know what else to do. After this happened I called to explain our case and ask for a refund, and received a voicemail the next morning from a very nice man saying he was handing over to the billing department and they would work it out for us. Three days later and after numerous calls I was promised a call back from the Vice President Brian, who was actually the first person that was polite to me on the phone. He said he would look into it and call me back the next day. Two days pass without a phone call. I called again and left a message and he did not return my call. Wow, when the Vice President can't even return a call that says a lot. So does the fact that they charge $70 just to send someone out, any reputable company would make their money based off of actual work, rather than just charging people for nothing. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

I dont know about the experience of the staff- the young guy that came seemed nice enough. We needed two pipes replaced. They quoted us $1300. We said no and they still charged us an $80 fee just for coming out. That was not mentioned when we made the appointment. Called Metro Plumbing. The guy was out in an hour, was very friendly, and quoted $325. Enough said.

We have had Bishop Plumbing twice for service/repairs. Both times we had the same technician, Cormac, come to our house. Both times we received professional service, up front estimations and quality service. We will continue to use Bishop for future service and are even considering them for a tub installation.
