Had a backed up sink and called Billy the Sunshine Plumber. Joey and Daniel were great at fixing what we needed. Two very professional, friendly guys! Thanks for getting my water flowing out of my 63 year old house, guys!!! You are the best!!!

I will start by saying that I have used Billy the Sunshine Plumber once or twice before and was fine with their work. However, this past Jan 9 I had an appointment with them at 3. I had to leave work (using vacation time) to meet with them. I waited and waited. They were a no show. I called the next morning and asked what had happened and they said someone had cancelled my appointment. I did not cancel my appt. Instead of them saying we are sorry for the mix up and not sure what happened we will try and get someone out there today, they kept insisting someone cancelled the appt. and would not be able to get anyone out there today. That it when I promptly hung up on them and decided to never use them again or recommend. Sadly, all they had to do was own up to their mistake and I would have waited a day (it wasn't an emergency situation).

Poor service did not feel it was important to come to my house at 9pm then stated they would be out to service first thing in the morning. I guess their day does not start until 10:30 am because that is when they finally arrived.

Great people to do business with. They were punctual,Fast, friendly, and informative. The price was as quoted. If you need a great plumbing company these are the guys to go with.

First, several years ago, I think I was the first one reviewed the business on Yelp and gave it 5-star. We also used it several other occasions through out the years. I think with this business what kind of service you get has lots of to do with which plumber it sends you. ALSO, I think, God forbid, if you are not happy with the result, you are going to get a nasty treatment. Our experience is worse than another reviewer Mr. Tommy Lorden on Google Review. The plumber Joey called my husband a """"piece of sh**t"""" and called me a bitch. When we nicely explained the problem to him on the phone. We had him over yesterday afternoon for a sink blockage problem. After he snaked, the kitchen water was going down. Because we have snaked the sink drain several times in the past 6 to 9 months, we decided to order a camera and see what it is really going on down there. We did the camera this morning around 9:00 am. So from the time the plumber snake the line (around 3:00 PM yesterday afternoon) to the time we do the camera, it is less than 24 hours. After the camera guy ran the camera, the camera line encountered a blockage and could not go any further. So the camera guy had to use his snake to break the blockage. So the camera could continue ... Of course, the camera guy had to charge us on the snaking. Because we have used the camera company several times before as well, he gave us a discount on the snaking. Less than half of Sunshine plumber's charge. Anyway, we called the office of Billy the Sunshine Plumber and see if it could at least compensate us the extra money we paid. The office said Joey the plumber had to talk to us about the money. Anyway, when Joey called a little bit before 3:00 PM this afternoon. Basically, he kept telling us that the camera guy has created the blockage when the camera guy ran the line .... when we told him that there was a blockage and asked whether he would compensate out extra snaking cost (again,, less than half he charged us).... he got very nasty call my husband """"sh*t"""" and me """"bitch"""" and hang-up. When you use this company, pray you don't run into problems.... Otherwise, you are at the mercy of the plumbers. The is no office help what so ever. Just read all the low star reviews. You will see we ran into similar situations.

The WORST!!!!! I paid them $150+ to snake a drain at a rental of ours. Later found out they never snaked it, just poured some chemicals in. Drain still doesn't drain. I called them back and they said they would come back for 265$ to now snake it!!!!!!! WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Beware.

I would never use or recommend this plumber . I purchased a residential property with a newer water heater which had been installed by this company back in 11/20 prior to my ownership. Upon moving into the property there were constant issues with the water heater breaker tripping . After having 2 electricians look at it , they concurred it was a water heater issue . I contacted Billy's to advise of the problem and a front office worker called back the next day to advise she had been told it was a water heater element issue and to call the manufacturer. I did that and was told it was definitely coveted under their warranty and that the original installer ( Billy's) should come out to service / replace / troubleshoot at no charge . Billy's advised me they wanted $149 plus whatever hourly or other parts charges were incurred . No customer service here whatsoever . I've been a homeowner for 40 years and would NEVER use these guys .

On sunday I had an outside spigot that ran into house break and water was spraying everywhere, I had to turn off the main water. I called Billy's and they sent someone over fairly quickly but unfortunately this guy worked at a turtle's pace. He said it was $175 an hour because of it being a Sunday and it took him 2.5 hrs to get the job done because he would constantly walk to his truck to get a tool or part instead of bringing everything with him, he didn't know how to turn the main water from the city off so he had to call someone else, when he finally finished it cost me $520. When he left he didn't even pick up the old pipe and throw it away, he just left everything in the year for my dogs to get into. He didn't do the job right because monday, I found it leaking in 2 different spots, when I called Billy's on monday, they told me it would not cost anything for them to come out because it was still a problem with sunday's call and I asked them not to send the same repairman because he was slow and took forever. I received a call that afternoon from the same repairman and he told me it was going to be $99 an hour for them to come back out. I called the offce back and said forget it and told them why and their response was """"that's fine we are very busy"""", no I'm sorry, let me have someone else come out, nothing. After having 2 more plumbers to come out I was told that this was a shotty job, it should have never been done that way and it should not have been leaking, now it's going to cost me more more because I have to have the whole thing fixed again plus more and Billy's doesn't care.

Nothing about plumbing. One of your drivers tried to run me off the road and i almost hit another car going the opposite direction so i wouldn't crash into them trying to change in MY lane. Then they speed up and cut someone else off and ride the car in front of them as close as possible.

My mother used this company several times when I was a teenager. They were always fast, clean and efficient. The company was established in 1924. I see plumbing companies boasting about being here for 50 years. BTSP has been here for 100 years now. That's about 24 years before McDonalds was established. So they must be doing something right. Their prices were equal to or less than their competitors. Some of these bad reviews I've noticed are from people that lack common sense. Like the guy who has a manufactured warranty on his hot water tank that had a faulty part and thought since BTSP put it in that they were supposed to fix it for free. That warranty is for the parts ONLY. It's not the plumbers fault the company who built the tank with a faulty part and will not lose money and time because of it. It's not the customers fault either. Between the customer, the plumber and the manufacturer who had a faulty part, which one do you think should pay to have it fixed? Obviously the manufacturer. This was not the first company we called, but it will always be the last company we called. Meaning, there's no reason to ever call a different company. Because of the plumbing issues we had my mother was able to teach me a valuable lesson that I carry with me and apply every time it is applicable. A company who practices and prides itself on ethics are increasingly rare. Take the time and effort to sift through the mud till you find one that has ethics built into their core values like Joe D. the owner of Billy the Sunshine Plumber and hold onto that company. And I'll save you some money and time by recommending a mechanic who is cut from the same cloth as Joe and that's Chuck the owner of Hoover and Sons mechanic shop on Seminole Blvd in Largo. I gain nothing out of this review other than hoping I give these two deserving companies more business and the satisfaction of saving you all the pains of having to deal with companies who don't think twice about ripping us off.
