Dave T.I asked this company to check out a house I was considering. I needed the information in a timely manner, and when I asked people in the office to get me the information in the timeframe they promised, the responses I got were along the lines of, ""it'll get done when it gets done.""
Kurt O. was the technician sent to help with a clogged kitchen sink. He was masked up, efficient and effective. The price was reasonable for a professional. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Called on Tuesday and got an appt. for the next day which was just fine as it wasn't an emergency. Got an email and text saying they were on their way, even arriving a bit early. Jimmie and Victor arrived wearing masks. Very pleasant people. Checked things out, told me what was needed, and got right to work. Jimmie made sure he told me what he had done making sure I understood. Price was most reasonable I thought. I am most pleased to recommend Bill's Plumbing and Sewer. This company used to be in Skokie years ago, but has moved to Northbrook. Don't think you will have any problems using their services. 1855 Holste RD. Northbrook, IL. 60062

I am happy to say that my experience with Bill's Plumbing, from my contact with the receptionist to the servicemen, exceeded all my expectations. The receptionist was thorough and accommodating, the servicemen were prompt, took the time to see if a fix or replacement was needed, and were courteous and polite -- AND THEY GOT THE JOB DONE WITH EXPERTISE! I added Bill's Plumbing to my contact list and won't be calling any other plumbing service in the future. Their pricing was fair and the work was excellent. Just to find an honest and competent plumbing service made my day!
Michelle S.I've been living in my home for 27 years. I've had a lot of experience with the plumbing issues in this house. I called to have my main line rodded in March because I was having issues with the laundry and the downstairs toilet backing up. They rodded from the inside and the outside clean-out accesses. Now, 2 months later my toilet was backing up again. I was referred to another plumber by my contractor and he discovered that all of the roots were not removed. He also noted that my catch basin was loaded with roots and soil and no one has ever checked that before. $500 later, I finally have clear lines. I don't think I will use this company again and to say that I'm disappointed is an understatement.
On 04/04/18 I signed a contract with Bill's plumbing that they would ""Connect to cast iron stub and flood control stub with stainless steel non-shear bands. Install a tee in line and a riser to grade level for future cleaning. In addition to the first option we also propose replace existing flood control with new system with two 6"" backwater valves and precast concrete vault."" So 04/30/18 a crew showed up ready to do the work I had agreed to. Where as the foreman told me that the office made a mistake and the stub out of the house was not on the right side of new concrete stoop, but under it and if I wanted the work done it would have to be removed which would cost anywhere up to an additional $5,000 to $7000. I said no, at which point he called the office and came back to me and the wife and told us they called a company that does relining of the pipe from the house to the flood control which will take care of the main problem of having roots grow into pipe, it would cost an additional $3800 which I said fine. It would be done within a week or two after they finished their work. Waited 2 weeks for someone to call about when the other company would be out and was told by Tim whom I guess is the owner of Bill's that the company they talked to couldn't do it for many reasons. If they had told me that at the beginning I might never of had them do any of the work. Now I am out $11,320 and still have a root problem that they will not help with.
Contacted them yesterday for a non-emergency repair and they had two young men here this morning. They were pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient with all the repairs. Won't hesitate to use Bill's Plumbing again and highly recommend them.
Julie P.Huge shout out to Bill's plumbing! Scheduling was easy, and fast. Plumber arrived on time and fixed a clogged line that our old plumbers couldn't fix for the past 15 years! Each time he encountered an obstacle he was able to think of a different way to get to the line. Our old plumbers were going to charge over $1000.00 to remove and relocate the pipe which was clearly unnecessary. Thank you Bill's Plumbing we will never go anywhere else!
CRABBY old man! Wouldn't even think to do business with this company! I see from prior reviews the receptionist is rude too! Must run in the business!
Had them come out to check 2 down spouts that were tied into the sewer system that were suspected to be clogged. One was capped and one was backed up. They quoted me $175 for the first hour and a lower hourly rate for any time over that, don't recall what it was. The tech called me while he was at the house. The first capped drain wasn't clogged he ran water through it 5 min no back up. Ok great news. The other one was backing up so he was going to rod it. I was hoping to hear from him after he left since nobody was home if it was successful or not. No call. I get home and the drain was still clogged. I had to call and talk to a third party after hours (4:45pm) to relay a message to them that I had called. The next day I see a charge for $290 on my credit card. I called them back, they said they were there 1 hour and fixing the drain was unsuccessful. Ok so 1 hour I thought = $175. That was not the case. They charged me $225 for the hour and they added a $65 service fee. Service fee was never mentioned in the quote. They agreed to refund the $65 service fee and continued to tell me that they don't guarantee these types of drains. Which is all fine except for still charging me $50 more than the quote. This was not sitting well with me at all. The very next day I took on the drain. I took the 90 degree elbow off of the top of the drain, which just slid off, so I could get a good look at what was going on. The pipe was packed with dirt and rocks. I stuck my arm in there and removed all the dirt and rocks until the bottom of the pipe which was aprox 2 feet down. Took me 1 hour MAX. No back up. Now I wouldn't have had a problem paying the agreed upon price of $175 if there was literally nothing anyone could do. But to say that a pro could not fix this, nor could offer any other ideas as to what I could do to fix this drain other than, ""We were unsuccessful"" when I could do it in 1 hour is honestly embarrassing. Needless to say, I won't be calling them ever again.
