Henri Billharz wastes my time. He and his staff are very nice but Henry NEVER follows up or returns phone calls. Totally irresponsible.

I was charged $375.00 to replace a toilet water tank gasket, I could have bought a new toilet with this money. I am not coming back here.

Sewerage line was all blocked up over weekend. Called out an emergency service on my insurance but they couldnt fix it. Called Billhartz on their emergency no. and got a call back first thing Monday. They came round right away and fixed it without all the complaining of the previous guy (who made up a cock and bull story that i needed to have my toilet removed). Thanks Billhartz.... i used your services four times now and you've never let me down. If i could suggest one improvement it would be to offer a weekend service. Nonetheless they have well trained staff with all the right tools and experience.

I had a good experience with this Queens-based, family-owned plumber. My wife and I needed a gas dryer installed and Billharz was able to give us a free estimate. We almost had the dryer installed by Sears, which already charged us $70 for an estimate then wanted to charge us $180 for the installation package and $400 for the parts and labor ($650 total). Another plumber was going to charge us $700. After contacting 4 different contractors, Billharz was the most competent, friendly, reasonably-priced (came out to about $500).

A few reviews other reviews of Billharz from 2010 and 2011 described an unfriendly female customer service representative, however I didn't have that problem. The woman on the phone was friendly and it was easy to schedule an appointment for a free estimate.

Henri Billharz is the Vice President and he was the one that visited the home for the estimate. He was able to make other recommendations to strengthen the faucet/hoses connected to our washing machine and advised us on changes we can make to improve the safety of our garbage disposal. Two other plumbers came by the house and extended the gas line and connected the dryer. Unfortunately, the gas source in the basement was not turned on so the dryer was initially running cold. One quick e-mail to Henri and he was able to send his guys to fix the issue.

This company has been around for 90 years and is 3 generations of plumbers, they know what they're doing. It's good to support small, family-owned businesses and I will definitely be using them for future projects and repairs. If you're looking for a plumber in Queens, go with these guys, I've already done the homework for you!

Very nice and helpful. Simple job; just had to disconnect and move out the stove for repairs. but they went above and beyond what I would have expected and were fairly priced.

In January someone from this company was at our house and made some minor adjustments to our heating system. They recommended that we call them back and have some of the rusted pipes looked at before they become a big problem.
I called them this week, got an appointment with Henry for Wednesday 1-3PM, when nobody called or showed up, I called and was told they have an emergency and will try to be there by 4pm. Since I had another appointment and could not wait at home for them, I rescheduled for Friday 10am-12noon. When I called at noon to see where Henry was the lady in the office told me that he is on an emergency and she can't reach him.
After attempting to get her to tell me when he might be here, she got mad at me and essentially said ""yours is only a free estimate, and we can't interrupt emergencies for that "" When I asked her if they are not interested in giving us an estimate and possibly getting the job, she said ""you do whatever you want"" and then informed me that Henri will NOT be coming today.
I am done with this company ...

These guys did an oil to gas conversion for me. The price was reasonable (we got several bids they were in the middle). The job was quick and expertly done. They gave a good over view of what to expect then lined the services and performed on schedule. No surprises. Very solid.

6 months later I had an issue with the boiler. I made the dreaded call to see if they would stand by their work. Absolutely. Henri was at my house at 9am the next morning to solve my problem. That was a huge relief.

Based on my experience I would recommend them.

My tenant had a clogged drain in bathtub and kitchen sink, and there was a leaky pipe in garage. They were there for an hour and a half and we were charged 1200 dollars. I would never use these crooks again.

Do not use these plumbers!
We had Billharz Plumbing install a replacement Flushmate canister within our toilet tank. The problems started that night.
They did such a poor job that half the time the toilet would keep running unless you started jiggling and fiddling with the handle.
We never had this problem previously, with the original Flushmate during 5 years with 5 people regularly using the toilet.

So after two weeks, we called them to come back a 2nd time and rather than stand behind their work, they charged us for the 2nd service call.
When making the appointment, we were not told that we would be charged twice to fix their lousy work the first time.
Billharz Plumbing is an incompetent, deceptive, and fraudulent business.

I had a great experience with Billharz Plumbing. I recently moved into a new apartment and my stove had all sorts of problems. Too many problems to fix (it was a gas electric dual fuel) so I ordered a new stove... when I pulled the old stove away from the wall I noted there was no shut-off valve. I took a drywall saw and went to work, expecting to see the shut-off valve hidden behind the drywall. Nope. No shut-off valve as far as my flashlight could shine.

When I called Billharz the woman on the line was very friendly and walked me through the possibilities- told me who to followup with and what to look for when figuring out if the gas line would have to be shut off for the line or the building. They were flexible in scheduling an appointment and they were accommodating with my COOP Board.

When they came to do the work, the guy was friendly and neat. He explained all the possibilities and tracked the gas line (through the bathroom and behind the refrigerator) which turned out to be behind the dishwasher. He took his time to remove the dishwasher (which had been screwed into the cabinet) and explained that it should be attached under the counter (which would require a stone drill-bit) and then adjusted the waterline to the fridge which was a simple adjustment but now allows my ice-maker to be fully functional. He extended the pipe and installed a shut-off valve where it ought to be all within an hour and a half.

They were a little pricey, but I was confident in their work, their service and therefore willing to spend a little extra for peace of mind.
