Wonderful, knowledgeable service! Friendly staff. Service calls are prompt and prices are reasonable and affordable
Two men from Bill Reynolds Heating installed a heater/air conditioner in my elderly parent's house WITHOUT MASKS. Disrespectful, rude and selfish for them to go in & out of their house (for two days) with no mask on. It's sad that they don't care about their customers. They got their money, so I'm sure they're happy.
Bill Reynolds has been serving my HVAC needs for 20 years .. love this family owned business, My AC went out and had a tech to my house same day.. they also sell and install Carrier equipment, the best in the industry.. give them a call for all your heating, AC, Boiler.. and water tank needs
The technicisn came when he said he would. He was nice enough. It seemed like all they wanted to do was sell me a new air conditioner and furnace for around $6000.
Not the company they were 30 years ago. Service is non-responsive and ineffective. Charged me over $600 for a furnace repair that failed in less than 12 hours, then said nothing more could be done. Said they'd work up a proposal for a new furnace, but never heard another word from them.
Michael C.Not sure about the other reviewer, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The HVAC Tech (Chris) was excellent and had my furnace issue fixed in about ten minutes. He even showed me what to do in the future to ensure I don't have the same problem down the road. I would recommend Bill Reynolds Heating and Air Conditioning.
I had them out to look at my heat pump that wasnt working, which the coolant level was very low. Then two weeks later, I called the after hours number when my furnace stopped working. I asked him how much i was going to be gouged for an ""After Hour"" service call? He told me since they were just here, no charge to come out and look at it. It ended up being a fuse, and he replaced it.
Dan B.Mike Rowe has it right when he speaks about the problems in the United States in the skilled trades. Bill Reynolds Heating and Air Conditioning is an example of this. Let me preface this by saying that no one seems to know what they are doing anymore in the skilled trades. For example, I've ended up learning more than a journeyman HVAC tech knows just trying to understand the many ways I've been screwed over by the inept ability of the HVAC techs I've had at my home.
Bill Reynolds was called to service when my AC stopped working. I could immediately tell that this was a blower issues (because the blower wasn't working (duh). The fellow after hours came by and told me it was something else immediately and that there was nothing he could do until Monday (and proceeded to say what the service fee for after hours was going to be anyhow). I then explained why he was wrong. He agreed after ten minutes of fumbling around and left having me pay the 140-160 bucks for nothing. Fine. I'll eat the cost. The parts came in, they replaced them. Eventually the fan worked. No big deal. I asked that thery check the thermostat and control board connections and test the heat while there (to make sure that everything is operational). No problem, they said they checked it. Had no reason to believe they didn't.
Well, they didn't check it. So I just recently called them to fix that issue. First excuse an HVAC company gives you is that they didn't install the furnace.....this isn't rocket science folks....it's wires, replaceable circuits and basic HVAC theory. Something I'd rather not spend the 40 hours to learn so that's why I pay someone else...Then they said that the control board needs replaced. Fine. Lets do that. Called the next day to ask if the part was ordered and when I could expect them back to replace (so I can have heat). Have to call me back. Called them in the morning, then lunch, then a few hours later. Have to call me back. I ordered the part myself overnighted ($128 with tax and shipping) just in case they were just being lazy at the office. The service tech finally called me back with attitude and said that they shoulda called him because the part WAS ordered and should be available next day with luck. Then he quoted me over $500. For what he even agreed is an hour of work. ""I don't make the prices."" ""We have overhead"". I told them where they can stick their services and I, as always, will figure out your job for you. STEER CLEAR!
I was assured that paying more means better quality. Not in the case of Reynolds Heating and Air Conditioning. I purchased my Carrier furnace for top price in 2011. I payed to have an exterior filter box installed, which I viewed on the carrier website. It was not installed, even though it was payed for in my contract. Instead, when the blower motor went out in 2014, which Carrier honored, I contacted another heating company, who told me that the filter box was jerry-rigged by Reynolds. When this was brought to their attention, Reynolds said they would come back and install the correct filter box if I buy an air-conditioner from them.
In addition, my home flooded in 2013, and Reynolds was contracted to repair the furnace and replace the hot water tank. The hot water tank alone cost me $900, over 3 times what my neighbor payed for the same tank. I was assured the high price was for superior quality and their workmanship. In less than a year, the fittings were corroded. When this was brought to their attention, they told me that it was out of warranty. I explained that this amount of corrosion did not happen overnight. They sent another outside contractor to do the repairs. He told me the wrong fittings were installed, causing the corrosion.
If you are looking for a reputable, honest company that stands behind their work, do not contact Reynolds Heating And Air Conditioning in Eastlake.
