As a child, Bill Metzger observed his father, a master plumber, construct the Metzger family home from scratch. This experience gave Bill a profound appreciation for his father's craftsmanship and dedication, which he embraced. Bill briefly left to serve in the Army but returned to the family plumbing business, where he now shares his expertise with his son. As a family-owned and operated business, Bill Metzger Plumbing is fully licensed, insured, and bonded for all plumbing repairs and installations.

We have used Bill Metzger plumbing a couple times in the past (once for a previous leak) and have been happy with the service. Today, we called them to do a leak detection due to some water sounds in the walls and a warm area of floor. Tony and Jacob came out in less than an hour and detected a slab leak, of course! They happen ALL the time in our neighborhood. They found the least intrusive/damaging way to check it out and fix the problem. We caught it early and these guys we super proficient and efficient. We are very happy with the work and with their professionalism.

Just had Joe come out to check out my plumbing job and gave me his honest feedback and opinion saving me hundreds of dolllars on the job. I would definitely use them again.

Highly recommend Tony! We were struggling trying to find a plumber that understood Rheem water heater products and we had been trying to call so many people and no one could help us. Finally, we contacted Bill Metzger Plumbing and got a hold of Tony! He came right away on his day off to take care of us and diagnose our water heater. We set up an appointment with him and he took care of us! Our water heater was fixed and he also gave us recommendations on what products we needed to help us in the long run! We really appreciate you, Tony! Thanks for helping us fix our water heater when no one else could! You're the best and also great customer service! Highly recommend!

Two days ago I discovered (could hear) a pin-hole leak in the plumbing behind the wall in my powder room. I quickly shut off the water supply and went in search of a high-quality, reputable plumbing contractor. I called Bill Metzger Plumbing and WOW!, the owner of the company actually answered the phone! Now that's a hands-on-business owner! I was additionally pleased to hear that he would be sending one of his guys out within a couple of hours.
As promised, Joe called me to tell me he was on his way and would be there in about 30 minutes. Joe arrived and greeted me a friendly, professional manner and was ready to go to work. He was AMAZING! Within 5 minutes he had found the location of the leak and accessed the location in the most minimally invasive way possible being mindful of what would cause the least amount of repair and cost necessary to fix post-plumbing repair. Joe cut a hole in the drywall about six inches above the tile (which is halfway up the wall) and made a hole just barely large enough for him to fit through to access the leaking pipe that was only inches off the concrete slab. How Joe worked his magic and replaced the damaged section of pipe in a space that is smaller than most suitcases is beyond me...but he did! He is a true craftsman and does his trade proud!
What could have been a horrible experience was instead a delight!
I highly recommend Bill Metzger plumbing and especially Joe.
Thank you guys!

Sincerely,

Dan - a customer for life!

Do not hire Metzger Plumbing. On 12/31/16, Joe came out because I had a clogged pipe. He said it was a ""big job that would take 3-4 hours"" and would cost me $650. I had no choice but to say yes since we needed it done. He augured the pipe and within 15-30 minutes had it done. Then ran a camera down the pipe and said it was clear. All of this took no less than 90 minutes and he then charged me over $1000 since he said the camera cost $450. He used the camera for 5 minutes! His justification was that ""the camera costs over $8000"". He also said their jobs were fixed bid...so why did he tell me how long it would take (implying hours of work) when it only took 90 minutes (the actual augering and camera work took no more than 30 minutes). I should have talked to my friend who hired them recently and they caused thousands of dollars in damage to their pipes, ceiling and floors because they left one of their own towels down in the pipe, causing a major flood...and Bill Metzger refused to pay for the damage! Metzger Plumbing is a good reason why the plumber ""scam"" stereotype exists.

Last week one of Bill Metzger's plumbers told me that to replace my kitchen faucet the charge would be $400. And to replace the valves under the sink, if needed, would be an additional $250. ( My guess is the valves would have ""needed"" be replaced.) He then looked through the box with the new faucet and said there was a piece missing.

Six hundred dollars to change out a kitchen faucet is ludicrous. So ludicrous that I had this sneaking suspicion that he was not telling me the truth about the missing piece. So I took the new faucet back to Lowe's and asked to speak to a plumber. The plumber said there was no piece missing and that their charge would be between $150 and $200 to change out the faucet and $120 to replace the valves.

It's incredible to me that that plumber stood in my kitchen and bold faced lied to me. Even more incredible, however, was the attempted price gouging.

After my terrible experience with this company, I simply had to share it with prospective customers.

First, they sent a plumber out to handle some work for me. He was able to do a portion of it, but forgot some of the equipment so he couldn't complete the task.

He told me to call the office and set up another time to come out and finish the work, so I called and spoke to the woman who normally answers the phone there and set the appointment.

The day of the appointment, I waited and waited and waited. As my appointment window was coming to a close, I called to see if the plumber was running late. The same woman proceeded to tell me that no plumber was coming out and that she had called me a few times to warn me. The thing with technology is if I miss a call on my phone, it shows that someone tried to call and the number is revealed. She never attempted to call me. Instead she kept rambling on about how you can't trust technology, the message must have dropped from my phone, they are really busy, some of their guys are injured, etc.

So, I called back and rescheduled for the following week. The day of the appointment, I called ahead to be sure that the plumber was coming. Guess what? She claimed she had nothing on the schedule. She then proceeded to ramble on again about how my house was far from their office, their guys are injured, etc., etc., etc. At this point, you could imagine how upset I was. Most of us have busy schedules, which is why we make appointments.

Bill Metzger called me to apologize later that day and, to his credit, he is a very pleasant person. That said, as soon as he was done apologizing, he too went on rambling about a number of irrelevant issues that had nothing to do with MY APPOINTMENT. I don't care if you've had a busy summer. I don't care if you are down a guy or two. He even started telling me that he had to drive far to pick up his wife's prescription. What in the world does that have to do with my plumbing appointment - the second consecutive one that they failed to show up at? We all have to deal with adversity in our personal and professional lives.

The combination of incompetence and excuse making during this experience was unreal. How companies like this remain in business I will never know.

I called Bill Metzger Plumbing in need of an instant hot water heater and filtration system for condo in Dana Point.

The plumber who came to my house was named Tony.
The response time was excellent. Tony was very friendly as well as his office assistant Mona.
The job was done well and I'm very happy with my new Noritz instant hot water heater.

It's always nice to have a plumber show up on time and complete the job with a satisfied customer. I will use them again for future needs.
